We have even had to reach out during the offseason several years back for a tax related issue that came up and Tammy provided exceptional service and guided us through the entire situation. The past two years we have started dropping off our taxes for Tammy which just works better with our busy schedule, and we have had no issues. I call them over a week later to get an update on our taxes and they tell me they are extremely busy and that they would have some call me back, that call never happed so I call them back an hour later, they tell me again how busy they are. I tell the receptionist that I will be down to pick up my paperwork and go elsewhere if they haven't done them yet. I arrive 10 mins later and they hadn't even looked at them yet. I then ask the receptionist for an explaination on why my taxes haven't been looked at in over a week and she once again says: We are extremely busy (yet not a single person other than the 3 employees are there). I told her that answer is unacceptable because the only thing I'm hearing is that you are "too busy to do my taxes". She tells me: I'm not going to argue with you. I tell her that I'm not here to argue with you or anyone else and may I see a manager because I'm only asking a question that any other customer paying you $259.00 would ask. She points me to the manager and I ask her the same question and she replied: We are busy and because you dropped your taxes off, our clients taxes come first. WAIT! WHAT? I am hiring you to do my taxes, doesn't that make me a client too? She said, yes, you're a client, So I asked her: What am I missing here? She said, I'm not talking to you. Whoa! then her mother came over (they are a family operation). and said she would do them since she did them last year (only took 4 days last year). I asked her how long will they take, she said sometime next week. at that point I took them to Jackson-Hewitt at the nearby Walmart and had them done within a half hour and saved $80.00.in fee's compared to what I paid HR Block last year. Never have I felt helpless, insulted and treated like (literally) crap by a business. Never again!

Yesterday, I filed my first bad review ever. It was for Valentin from the Plymouth H&R Block. He was a contrast to Paul. Paul knows his stuff and knows how to treat people. He even told me when I relocate I can send my taxes to him through the My Block Account so he can do them. One of the other tax analysts even offered me a coupon reducing my fee. Do not engage in any business here!!…read more My quick story: -Was told my tax prep would be one amount, but was then sent a bill for much higher than we agreed upon without any justification. -My tax return was riddled with errors and ended up with my having to pay the government rather than receive a return as promised by Mark. (This was a very straight forward return and I am inclined to believe that he over promised my return to justify over charging me) -When confronted by this he was arrogant and unapologetic. Hopefully Yelpers can avoid this scenario because of what I went through first. Avoid at all costs!
