I stopped doing our own tax returns back in 2011 when my wife and I opened our B&B in Annapolis…read more Due to the need to set up a C Corp, we hired a rather corporate-facing firm. Since we moved to the Cape last year, I wanted to find a local, customer-first firm I could trust and that would provide a more personal experience. I interviewed three local firms, and each had its own strengths. Something about TK impressed us, so off we went. TK just finished our federal and state returns and did so with such ease and a professional touch that I almost didn't want to post this 5-star review, as we're selfish and don't want to share her services! But in the spirit of free enterprise, let it be known that if you go with TK, you will be impressed, as we were. So much better than the 'corp cpa' we got used to.

He lives in Alabama, he stated he only has Alabama software to assess. Came back completely wrong. Reached out to Rogers Gray , absolutely no help. No call. Finally i had to find where the breakdown was , basically doing Rogers gray job. I should have been on the payroll. Found someone higher up the assessor company. Fingers crossed. Ok, Hopefully this business is no longer running. As a…read moreformer tax professional, Wolfe would have had to have been at least an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. Wedge could then work for him. I don't know anything about Wolfe. If he's a CPA, he can prepare bank requests for Financial Statements as well as tax returns, review and sign off. Financial statements also come with a narrative about how the business is doing. IF neither of them had a credential listed above, they could only work on bookkeeping services. The only person to SIGN a tax return would be the customer who would take full liability for the accuracy of the return. Again I don't know how this business was run but I've seen complaints. Businesses are held to a much higher standard. I'm not talking about the daughter or son helping their parents file privately. Many families do this and as long as the owner of the tax return signs it, you're fine. If you make a mistake you will receive a letter and either agree or disagree with the findings. I do not advise those who have no tax experience to rely on programs such as turbo tax unless all you have is a W-2, excise tax, mortgage and/or donations. Make sure MA is taking a rental deduction if you rent, and is not taxing you on regular MA bank interest on your checking account for example. Finally, make sure you have entered your proof of medical insurance in your MA return to avoid penalties. If you have any more than this, please consult a tax professional in the case of rental property, stocks/bonds, etc. The list is longer.
