Amazing Experience My first time skydiving and it was…read moreincredible. Signing all the waivers and the scary warning signs didn't put me off. The staff were incredibly helpful and enthusiastic. Lots of emphasis on safety. This was a tandem jump which was a good thing. I was enjoying the free fall so much I would probably have forgotten to pull the rip cord. They have a photographer jump with you, Rusty had done more than 7,000 jumps and took some great pictures and video which you can purchase after viewing on the ground. The small plane is packed with other skydivers and takes you up to 12,000ft above the ground, so a long way down! Jumping out the plane is not scary, the ground is so far away it doesn't seem real, and this is from someone who is afraid of heights!!! Aerin had no problem getting me out the plane, he took care of stabilizing us as we somersaulted out of the plane. I can honestly say I didn't feel scared at all, the staff were brilliant and engendered a sense of confidence. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.

John-o was our guide and he was great. He did a good job reteaching us the basics and knew the river quite well. Outside of that, he had some good geological knowledge and dad jokes as well. My buddy's wife couldn't come at the last second and they gave me a gift certificate which was cool as we thought he wouldn't get anything. The only thing I didn't love is there isn't anything to drink once you step on the bus so I would have brought some water but still highly recommend them.

That being said they ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT have brought there elderly parents on this river! Anyone that knows Colorado should know that The Gorge is one of the most difficult rivers to run. Thus, this old man lasted 20 min before he had to be literally tied into the middle of the boat along with his wife. This lead to only 4 of us paddling! Again, great time because how could you not on a beautiful day with the Gorge but keep old people that can't even barely walk nor paddle off the river!

Shawn and Harvey were our guides and they were most excellent! From the guides local knowledge to the stories of Pikes Peak history we couldn't have had a better time. The leaves were starting to change which enhanced the beauty of the mountainside. The 4 of us were below average in biking experience. The guys fitted our bikes, helmets gave us a quick safety briefing and provided gloves, caps and vests for us to wear. It is clear they have been in the touring business for years as Every detail is taken care of for their clients. Next time we are going on the Gold Camp Road tour. From the top: Challenge Unlimited served a pretty decent breakfast. You read "continental breakfast" and think some crappy day old baked goods and bad coffee. Not in here... Bagels, different cream cheese, fresh bananas, regular coffee and keurig coffees, plus more. The staff is friendly and willing to accommodate the ride based on the skill level of the group. When going down hill there were a few of us who liked speed and the front can was definitely going fast so we could go faster. You make several stops along the way to take pics, relax, and catch your breath. In the end, you ride down to The Wines of Colorado where you have some basic lunch. Had an absolute blast! I highly recommend it to anyone.

I'm leaving this review so nobody else makes the same mistake. This was more of an event that occurs a few times and not a festival. The event occurs, from what I could tell, in spurts: call it early AM launch and evening glow. I had been misled by a previous experience at a balloon festival in NY which was an all-day event with the ability to go up in a tethered balloon all day as well as half-day rides, food, games...basic festival stuff. That is not what Labor Day Lift Off is. We got to Labor Day Lift Off in the Springs at maybe 10am and there was nothing: 1 of maybe 2 dozen food vendors open, no music, no people (maybe 20 of us walking around), no balloons at all...nothing. We used the opportunity to walk the park and check out the lake, but promptly left for food and entertainment. People that have gone to this event and witnessed it seem to have had a great time, but I doubt I'll attempt this again...maybe we'll give the glow a chance in the future.

Austin was our instructor for the second time and he was awesome! I had a reluctant flyer who changed his mind a couple of times and the staff was so great - they just wanted us all to have fun. The reluctant flyer even asked for more time, which was accommodated with no questions asked! When you consider what it must cost to operate this kind of establishment, the prices seem very fair to me. We can't wait to come back!
