Simply the best bakery in Monroe, the Pecan sticky buns are to die for and the owners are amazing

New owner/s are rude/short and I will not be back. Been coming to this place for years and miss the warm, inviting place this used to be. Missing the old owners, that created this wonderful place. Also quality has gone down since it was sold, the love and passion they put into everything is missing. I hope the new owners learn quickly that Monroe is not the big city and bringing the rude attitudes is not the way to stay in business. read more

We moved to Monroe in June of this year and have LOVED Sky River Bakery since our first visit. The pastries are amazing and we even ordered rolls and cinnamon rolls for the holidays. They were beyond delicious! The staff is always so nice and attentive. We will be going here for years to come! read more

Very disappointed in this bakery,there was nothing to sell it was empty when I went,no pies,no cakes no nothing I would not recommend this bakery I don't know how they pay their monthly rent! My better half and I stopped by the bakery on Saturday and discovered it had already closed. Whilst we were peering into the windows, the owner (I think) called out to us, "What're you looking for?" "Do you have any cookies?" my husband asked. "I sure do," the man said. He brought a basket of snickerdoodles and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies to the door. I pointed out the peanut butter chocolate chip ones, and he handed me a couple of baggies and sent us on our way. The cookies were some of the tastiest I've had, and my husband really enjoyed them too. We'd like to thank the owner for noticing us and accommodating our after-hours cookie cravings. We would love to come back when we're in town and try more goodies. read more

We ordered a wedding cake from out of town that was sooo delicious! Everyone said it was the best wedding cake they ever had. They were right on time for delivery and the cake was beautiful. The pricing was very reasonable to boot. We put the flowers on ourselves but they offered. We also loved that it was a family owned business that has been in business for over 20 years! read more

This bakery is an easy 5 Stars, it and its amazing owners are one of Monroe's true treasures. Don't come in here looking for doughnuts (yuk - sorry) Real Bakeries Don't Do Doughnuts !! Although they do their own version of a maple bar that is a family favorite of my wife & daughters. But everything else: scones, coffee cake, quiche, bars (my favorites) of every possible combination, breads, pies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, breakfast burritos, and on & on. The ideal start to any day is a cup of hot coffee and a goodie from the Sky River Bakery. I've been on a personal quest for the past 30+ years (roughly half my age) to visit every bakery that I encounter on my daily travels. I called in to place a fondant birthday cake order for my fathers birthday. Owner Andrew wasn't around and so the person took all my details and said andrew will give a call back. He called almost immediately and confirmed that they wont be able to take the order but recommended other local bakery. One of the great traits of a shop owner. Ethical! We recently purchased two cakes from the bakery. They were delicious, and beautiful!! The customer service was exceptional! We ordered a birthday cake listing several names for our family and friends June birthday's, and they nicely made two changes to the list at the last minute, on the best carrot cake I have ever had. The second cake was a wedding cake, that we said yes to flowers, not knowing they would be fresh. It was beautiful! I come to Monroe to visit family every now and then and Sky River Bakery is a MUST! The owners are so sweet and friendly and you can tell they put a lot of love into their shop and baked treats. Even being from out of town I felt right at home. They have a variety of baked goods from cinnamon rolls (with or without raisins!) to scones and muffins and more. My personal favorite is the almond roll - they don't skimp on the toasted almonds!! They also do coffee and lattes - nothing super fancy but good quality. From my understanding they specialize in custom orders as well such as cakes and pies but I haven't had the opportunity to try this out yet. The shop has a really homey atmosphere and I'll definitely be back again and again for their sweet, sweet treats:) I definitely recommend a stop here if you're in town! read more

I was heading out to Costco to buy a pie to take to a club picnic. Dreading the usual crush of people I turned the car towards town and headed to the Sky River Bakery instead. Almost couldn't spot it tucked in amongst the other shops but worth the search! Inside they had 2 pies left: Strawberry Rhubarb and one of my favorites Marionberry! The person at the counter packaged it with care and warned me to keep it flat as it had just come out of the oven. I also bought an oatmeal cookie for the road. My goodness that cookie was good! Once the picnic attendees spotted that pie it was like a swarm of bees - there was none left within 5 minutes and the hostess never got a slice! Will go back to get more cookies and pie once they open again! read more

Best raspberry danish I have ever had! I could tell the minute I saw it that it was made with quality ingredients. It was soft and buttery and not too sweet. The raspberry was not sticky like the jar jam most bakeries use. It was homemade and delicious! My husband had the cinnamon roll with raisins and loved it as well. There isn't an overwhelming selection of treats but they do have a decent selection and so far all of them have been great in taste. The staff that I have encountered have been really nice and friendly and the owner is an incredibly friendly and personal guy with great customer service. This place is more of a Ma and Pa Bakery Counter vibe, so if you're looking for a basic hot cup of coffee or tea and a delicious treat to go with this is definitely the place to go! read more

We love this place! The new owner is awesome! It's so refreshing to see a business in this town who is so inclusive! The food is also amazing! My family and I appreciate the care they take with staying masked and asking customers who aren't masked to please do so. It does not go unnoticed that they are doing everything in their power to keep us all safe! It's a real shame that they have to deal with childish customers who are upset over such a small task such as wearing a mask and need to throw a tantrum for everyone to see. The owner and his team have handled confrontation from these childish people well. Don't pass on this place, you'll love it! read more

I haven't even tried the food yet but the customer service is incredible. I ordered 3 quiche here after Snohomish Bakery fell through on an order. I spoke to the owner/manager and he was very kind and personable on the phone. The quiche are made fresh, unlike Snohomish who only makes them on Sunday's. When I went to pick them up they were ready to go. One of the gals even helped me walk them to my car. I'm sure they will taste great, and I'm grateful it worked out this way so that I'm not serving week old quiche to 30 people. Update: the quiche was amazing! read more

A surprise in Monroe. The unassuming storefront makes it easy to pass by this gem. Outstanding baked goods like cinnamon rolls, cookies, quiches, scones, macaroons and so on. My favorites include the almond brioche (subtle, soft, and delicate) and the pink cookie (sugar cookie with pink icing). The coffee selection is simple with both brewed and espresso based drinks. I had a latte which was perfect, great foam on top, not too bitter, and the milk perfectly steamed. Next time I will try their drip coffee. The best part is the service. The owners ooze passion, not only for their baked goods, but for their customers as well. I stopped in desperate for a place to work (client needed data and I needed a place to set my computer down and connect to the www) and was happy to have Andrew's hospitality. Listening to him interact with his customers, describe the baked goods and happily answer questions was a lesson in what it means to run a business and live with passion in your life. We came in an hour before closing on a Saturday and were greeted with great service. We got the last loaf of bread and it was an interesting combination (I don't remember exactly what), but it was amazing!! We were also sent on our way with a few baked goods that were also excellent. This place hands down has the best maple bars that I have ever had. Maple bars are my go to pastry and I have not had another one that compares to the ones from Sky River. We ordered a lemon cake with raspberry filling for my moms birthday (ordered on Friday, ready for pickup Wednesday) and it was delicious! The cake is light and fluffy and you could tell the raspberry filling was made from fresh fruit. The eight inch double layer cake was more than enough for 6 people (we still have leftover cake). Not to mention the cake was really pretty. It had lemon buttercream so the buttercream was a light yellow and there was pink and green little dots around then edges and the wrote happy birthday in pink lettering (the writing was darling). I've been coming here my entire life (over 25 years) and the baked goods are still totally delicious. Love the lotta lemon muffins and the almond brioche rolls.
