Extremely friendly and professional! I had been looking for a local tattoo artist for a few months to complete my first tattoo. In September 2022 I discovered SkyInk Studio on Instagram. The IG page instructs customers to DM with booking questions, reference pictures of the style and size tattoo and deposit requirements. I sent a message and got an immediate response which included clarifying questions of what style and size of tattoo, placement and length of session. Once all details were confirmed my appointment was book. Two days before my appointment my tattoo artist Tony sent me a reminder message confirming the address and time. Upon arrival I met with Tony to review the design and we got started on the stencil. My first appointment was 6 hour session. During my session Tony made sure that I was comfortable and stayed hydrated. Once my session was completed Tony made sure I knew how to properly clean the area and future aftercare. Tony has worked on all of my tattoos, completed forearm and additional smaller pieces on the other arm. I have recommended Tony and Sky to my family, friends and co workers and they have all had an incredible experience here. read more

1/10 -- Would Not Recommend Sky Ink Tattoos in Katy, TX I took my 14-year-old daughter to Sky Ink Tattoos in Katy, Texas, to get an industrial piercing, and unfortunately, the experience was very uncomfortable from start to finish. Before going, I was told through text that the price was $70 for two piercings. When I arrived, I was told it was $70 for one year/two piercings on one ear. I showed the text messages to the piercer and explained the misunderstanding. I was completely willing to pay the price they were asking and told him it was fine. However, he insisted on speaking with the receptionist and called her. While on the phone, the receptionist and piercer began going back and forth, yelling and arguing about the situation. The phone was eventually handed to me, and the receptionist explained that it was originally supposed to be $70 for one ear with two piercings and that the text exchange had simply been a miscommunication. I told her that was fine, thanked her, and handed the phone back. Unfortunately, the arguing continued between the piercer and his wife/receptionist while my daughter and I were there getting her piercing. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable to have customers sitting there while employees were yelling and arguing with each other. In my opinion, that is not professional and is simply bad for business. Afterward, the piercer acknowledged that there had been a miscommunication and offered a $10 discount, which I appreciated. The money was never the issue for me. My biggest concern was the lack of communication and professionalism. My daughter is only 14, and after getting her piercing, no aftercare instructions were provided to me. I actually had to ask how to properly clean the piercing. I was also left feeling like the piercer was rushing because he had another tattoo client waiting. I understand that mistakes and miscommunications happen, but how you handle those situations matters. I would strongly recommend better communication among staff and, most importantly, not arguing or yelling in front of customers. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Sky Ink Tattoos. 1/10 for me. read more

March 2026 Update: I recently reached out to the studio because their public response to my original review came across as sincere and open to making things right. They apologized for the miscommunication, acknowledged the issue, and invited me to return so we could "discuss how to make it right." However, when I contacted them privately, the tone was completely different. Instead of the openness expressed publicly, I was told they "don't think we would be the best fit" because I had shared my experience in a review. The message was defensive, dismissive, and focused on reiterating their pricing rather than addressing the actual concerns I raised -- the inconsistency, the lack of transparency, and the way I was treated when I returned to the shop. I'm adding this update because there is a clear difference between the studio's public-facing tone and their private follow‑through. I reached out in good faith based on their own invitation, but the response I received did not match the sincerity shown in their public comment. This place is disgusting. I took my daughter in for a piercing and after waiting for about ten minutes some guy finally emerged from the back. We told him what we wanted and he had us sign the paperwork. He told us to wait while he went outside and smoked a cigarette. Once he came back in he brought us to the piercing room. Without washing his hands or putting on gloves he took the jewelry out of a large box. He placed it on the table then sprayed his hands with alcohol. He then sprayed the jewelry with alcohol but never sterilized it in an autoclave. His marking for a triple helix were way off so we had him redo them a few times. Finally when he pierced her ear, he must have realized he used the wrong gauge needle because while the needle was stuck in her ear, he hurriedly opened a new needle and stuck that in afterwards. At this point my daughter is crying and she tapped out on the final two piercings. He finally put the jewelry in her ear after what took a very long time. He clearly had no idea what he was doing, and other piercers we have visited have done it flawlessly and quickly, to minimize the pain. The post in the jewelry he used was so short that there was definitely no room for swelling, so once we were home we took it out. I'd rather eat the money than have her eat infected, or worse. I contacted the owner afterwards who made excuses for everything and took no accountability. Whomever the guy is who did her piercing, because I never got his name, is huge liability to this shop. read more

i went expecting a fine line tattoo and i made that very known that i wanted my matching tattoo with my best friend to be very dainty. they insisted on 2 different artist tattooing us at the same time to make it go by faster. i asked if both tattoo artists specialized in fine line and they said yes. well our tattoos ended up coming out different mine is clearly a lot thicker and the petal on the left side is just sad. even my new tattoo artist who specializes in fine line said that the rose is indeed NOT a fine line tattoo read more

Went to this shop for the first time for the Friday the 13th Sale, let me just say it was a mess. Typical for big events like the sale they had but this was nuts. After waiting 45 minutes outside in the heat, no chairs, fans, or anything! Provided, myself and few others were finally allowed inside and it looked like a zoo. The "studio" is basically one large room with no privacy anywhere. No curtains, no blockades, nothing! When it was finally my turn for my tats, the artist who was going to work on me greeted me with vape smoke to the face. I was appalled not only by the gross habit, but by the blatant disrespect and uncleanliness as well. Not sterile at all if he was smoking inside and ESPECIALLY by his tattooing area and honestly that should've been my sign to leave. The whole session he was vaping and didn't take any measures to ensure I was ok. The whole thing was ridiculous and a total cash grab. I'd only recommend this place if you want something cheap. My tat definitely looks like the price I spent... bad judgement on my part. Never coming back. read more
