Our now 6-year-old has been going to HOH for the last two years, and he's really enjoyed it,…read morelearned a lot, and made some great friends. There's instruction at a variety of levels -- from very young body exercises to teenage full-on gymnastics -- as well as Ninja Zone (gymnastics with a non-violent martial arts veneer). The instructors have all been very respectful, helpful, and responsive, and the management is very responsible and proactive. They offer free classes to new students -- it's definitely worth a try if you're looking for a physical practice for your children.

I can't speak to the training but I have attended two birthday parties here. After my last…read moreexperience, I don't think we'll be considering this place for my daughter's next party. The kids have to spend a lot of time waiting because of the nature of the activities. All of the kids do the same activity at the same time so they're always waiting for kids in front of them to finish on the rope swing, the trampoline, the obstacle course, etc. The most recent party we attended made me think I won't go back. Toward the end of the party, they made all of the kids sit on a white line and face a giant rope-type swing. They buckled the birthday boy in and told him to run, when he did then they hoisted him in the air and he swung back and forth. It looked like a blast. Everyone was cheering and clapping. When they lower him down, the other kids start to jump up thinking they are going to get to go next. Then they tell the other kids, "It's just for the birthday boy." Who does that to a group of five year olds? Either do it before or after the party or while the rest of the kids are doing other activities, but certainly don't make the other kids sit and watch. My daughter pretended not to be upset so I didn't bring it up but in the car on the way home she mentioned it. "Mommy, I was kind of sad when I didn't get to do the flying thing." I tried to turn the conversation to the fun she DID have but I could tell she was still a little disappointed. They should think twice about this policy in the future. Other than that, the place is pretty clean, the party area is kind of small, and some of the kids working there act like they have somewhere better to be.

You definitely become part of the family when you join Valor. The trainers are knowledgeable,…read morefriendly and motivate you to push yourself to meet your goals. It's great to workout with others who also help push, encourage, motivate and cheer you on. I'm 7 months post-op from a labral hip tear, and the trainers are great in working with me on modifications on certain exercises that either are still difficult or less painful on the hip.

Prior to the gym, I never thought I would enjoy working out in a group, but I don't think I could go back to working out alone. The space is a converted warehouse that they have made their home. It gives plenty of room for all of us to workout with room to spare. I have never felt like the gym was crowded because we always have room for more people. There is very good equipment from wall-mounted racks to gymnast rings, to sleds that we push/pull, kettlebells, etc. There is an astroturf section which we do sled pushes, sprints, and the valor olympics on. The gym is for all ages and all levels of fitness and goals. We have kids to young adults to people in their fifties. Best of all Valor is a family. We adopt new members into the family everyday.
