With Miki and With These Steps Choreography, we certainly did just that. Before we pulled the trigger, we sat down with her and her husband Tre to talk about our dance experience, music, and what we were looking for in a first dance. More importantly, Miki wanted to know our story so that she could choreograph a dance that reflected that story. After our conversation, we determined that we wanted 5 sessions with Miki, just to get the full experience. From her bio, you can see that Miki is a professional in every sense of the word. Her training is quite evident in the way that she teaches as well as the way that she dances. We contacted them about two weeks before our wedding--the panicked point at which we realized we wanted to look good dancing our first dance as a married couple. (Note: I advise contacting them much, much sooner.) Thanks to their patience, good humor, and most of all, their SKILL in teaching the non-gifted the basics; we made it through our first dance very well. In fact, we actually got compliments from many of our guests on how well we danced. What I like most is that the spouse and I now have a new, social, active hobby the two of us can pursue together.
