Old school, but old and new music is available and if you are looking for something, they may hold it or order it for you. For those of us who grew up in the 80's and 90's, we saw vinyl die and come alive again. It is still my preference for music at home and it is an extra plus if the lp also had the downloadable device option. Every year I attempt to head out to Record Store Day (RSD). My goal is to pick up unique items that have never been released, but more than anything, those 80's and 90's albums that were only made on CD. After a three hour wait in line this year, with only 380 different releases and only 3000 stores in the country with offerings, I came home with everything on my list, but one item out of stock. A total win. Five stars for variety and good set up outside to make shopping effiient. I loved how their store looked and decided to check it out. Everything in the store was so fun to look at from the shirts, to the vinyls to the artwork that they had on the wall. They have one of a kind earrings and Kelly was super cool and accommodating. Right next to banana dang, Goblin Shark Emporium is a one stop shop for all your art goodies. I highly recommended this store if you're looking for something cool to purchase or just to chill at the counter with Kelly and her butt pillow. However incurred a minor issue at no fault to the store, inner sleeves were missing, this was a known issue from the record producer on this particular release, worked with Jules at Vinyl Junkies and she worked diligently with their supplier to make things right, took a bit but she got it done and shipped them right away free of charge and in perfect condition.. There is some organization to some of the CDs but many of them are just stacked here and there. That is ok. If you are a musical dinosaur like some of us, some of the fun is in the hunt itself. The only drag is parking. Street parking is your only option and it is rough. She just treated an independent artist like a piece of scum. She may as well have spit in his face. He was so kind, polite and introduced himself and tried to donate the shop 2 of his vinyl that was just released. One for the shop to play and one to put in a local bin. (Californian Desert) As any independent artist knows, it takes a lot of time, money and courage to get your music and art out (grass roots style). Every single shop we have been to has not only been epically rad and kind, but some have even handed him cash for his record. This woman told him she "doesn't know what to do with it" and turned her back to him. Absolutely unkind and nasty.
