Went looking for another chiropractor after a negative experience with another Santa Clarita chiropractor. Not sure why I selected him, but am glad I did. He is conveniently located along Lyons Avenue. Parking along Lyons is always easy and available. Dr.Sklar is his own receptionist and takes care of his own billing and answers the phone, too. Gotta love that. He is unpretentious, but more importantly, he is a great chiropractor. He takes the time with his patients. I never feel like a number when I enter his office. Dr. Sklar is a kind and compassionate person, first of all. He is also extremely knowledgeable and more interested in treating your pain and other physical issues than signing you up for 3 appointments a week for the next X number of weeks, as many chiropractors will do. He has helped me immensely. Sometimes I have seen him regularly and sometimes I go for several months without seeing him. I've had several disappointing chiropractic experiences in the past, but a friend recommended Sklar Chiropractic when I was struggling with excruciating low back pain, and nothing was working. Dr. Sklar has been treating me for over 18 years for minor aches, pains, athletic stuff, and just maintenance. Today I left his office feeling like a million bucks!! After having some back pain for about a week for who knows what reason, he diagnosed me as having a 'stuck' Lumbar vertebrae. I had tried everything to release the pain and get some range of motion on my own with no success. Had nagging pain and tightness on the lower left side of my back down to my lower left glute. Not only was it was causing me horrible rest, but it was affecting my concentration throughout the day. Nina the masseuse fixed me up. I even fell asleep for awhile during the session and woke up without any more pain. She is a gifted healer. I don't know what I would do without her. Just moving into the SC valley area I was desperate to find a replacement for my god send of a chiropractor I had in the OC. I constantly reletionship on yelp for local references (the people don't lie) and I usually have great luck when using a yelp reference. Well let you tell you Dr Nate Skylar was no exception, I called his office on Monday having excruciating back pain all morning. Not only did they answer my phone call during lunch hours but Dr Nate himself picked up the line. He said he could get in my that afternoon and that he would see me shorlty. I hung up and proceed to head out to run my errends. The office is super easy to locate, on Lyons ave in downtown Newhall area. Upon walking into his office I was greeted but a very friendly and profesional receptionist and the Dr himself. You could tell the place had a great energy and flow right off the bat. Other patients were talking with the Dr and I could tell they were very happy with his practice. My visit with Dr Nate was phenomenal, he took the time to listen to me and really examine what was hurting me. He cared about his time with me and not just getting the next person in the door. He did a wonderful job with my adjustment and I felt total safe and comfortably in his hands. If you need a good chiropractic, do yourself a favor go see Dr Nate!!! Dr. Sklar is the best! I know I should go to him on a more regular basis, but like many people I always wait until I am in pain. Regardless, Dr. Sklar is always kind and gentle. I love his explanations of why my problem is occurring and what I can do to avoid future strains on my back, neck or whatever is hurting. I've been a patient (along with my children) of Dr. Sklar's for more than a decade and he is THE BEST CHIROPRACTOR I have ever found. He was recommended by a friend long ago after trying too many who didn't listen or care for me as an individual. That is one of Dr. Sklar's best qualities. He listens carefully and gets to know what is unique about your situation and tailors each treatment to exactly what you are comfortable with while always discussing options and suggestions before even touching you. I have never been hurt, surprised, or uncomfortable with his treatment or I never would have taken my athletic teenagers to him who choose to still see him now that they are grown adults.
