One of the most unorganized businesses I have been too. Marie is always late and after my 3rd appointment I vowed this would be the last time I spend my time and money here. Not sure if she or the receptionist don't book enough time for services but each time she has been late for my appointment and then my appointment is rushed. If I take time out of my schedule to be early or on time, I expect that same courtesy, after all SkinScience isn't a Dr's office I am paying money for services. My last appointment was a chemical peel and I didn't see any results that she stated I would after 2 treatments. Except for a really red face that peeled after a couple days. No difference in my skin at all? I did give it time but then was referred by clients to real "skincare experts" and was told that chemical peels wouldn't be something they would recommend for my skin type and were baffled why I would have had two? I agree since my skin is sensitive however I trusted Skinscience that they knew what they were doing. Obviously not. Besides Marie always being late and not being able to provide you her full attention at appointment, which is frustrating when your taking the time to be there. After all, I am paying and want to see an improvement. I really didnt like how she would recommend treatments without listening to you. Like I said, she doesnt give her full attention to you and I told her my skin is sensitive, always has been and nothing will change with that. It was also noted on my file. I was recommended 3 treatments by her that had no "real" results and a complete waste of money. It only aggravated my skin more going to her. Glad that I was told about another "skin place" by my clients (private message me for the name of this place). They have saved my skin in the first two visits, really listen to you,treat your time with respect and they are cheaper too. A real 360 from Skin Science. I also received an email newsletter from SkinScience yesterday and no idea why since I didn't sign up and haven't been there for over 2 months? They may want to brief themselves on Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL) since I didnt provide them consent to send me newsletters or emails or to provide my personal information to solicit me? The owner (Marie) is asking everyone for positive reviews on Facebook/Yelp/Google to be entered to "win gift cards from Holt Renfrew". So take these "positive reviews" with a grain of salt since they are posting it to be entered into wining gift cards. I'm sure negative or mixed reviews are not being entered into that contest at SkinScience. read more

They ruined my skin, plain and simple. I'm in my mid 20's and have very good skin overall. One of their employes performed an extraction on a cystic pimple and left an open gash on my face. She didn't steam it before hand or anything. It took a week to heal over and I missed two days of work because of it. A month later I looked a bit better and now after 8 months it's still the largest scar on my face and is about the size of a pea. I met with the lady who performed the extraction about a month later (as I had purchased a groupon package from them and still had one more dermabrasion) and she said it would most likely heal. It hasn't. They did give me a free skin peel after I emailed the owner with pictures taken. They would not, however, refund my money. The fact is, it didn't fix my scar and they made no effort to attempt to do so. I even expressed concerns about getting the extraction but the employee assured me that it would heal up much quicker and better with an extraction. She didn't inform me that it would be a lasting scar on my otherwise great skin. I've had cyclic pimples much worse than that one, and they healed up fine leaving no noticeable scar after a while. I assumed that these were professionals that know how to handle skin. They certainly charge the price a professional facility would! I go to someone else now who is knowledgable and a fraction of the price. I also get skin peels to help get rid of the scar. I would not recommend this place to anyone, ever. read more

I've been fighting with acne for ten years. We went over all my products and came up with an action plan to reach the goals that I wanted, even after the consultation I was feeling confident in the products we had chosen, due to Marie's explanation of why we were using each product, and going over all the ingredients and what they do. After only a month of product usage and a single extraction treatment, my skin is already looking way better than it did before! About a year ago I began experiencing severe acne breakouts. I was EXTREMELY self-conscious. Thank you to Marie for all her excellent and well explained skin advice and care. I'm a guy and i had second thoughts about going to a "spa" or beauty themed place for some skin concerns i had, but after looking at their website, and reading some other reviews about SkinScience I decided to go and see what they could do for me. I had some spots on my skin and in particular my face that i was concerned about, and i went in to see what they could do. Marie, is the owner and a Micro Biologist who specializes in skin. She was the one who I saw for my initial consultation in which she explained all about UV A and B and how it damaged my skin from working outside for many years without using sunscreen. There was a special camera that she used to take a picture of my face and she showed me an image that revealed unseen sun damage. She recommended some products to use to help my skin from aging prematurely, and she suggested i get IPL laser treatments for my spots on my face. I did the IPL, and the 2 dark spots on my face are now completely gone. I have had such an incredible experience with Marie and her team. The atmosphere is so professional and welcoming. I was blown away by Maries intentionality and detail in her consultation with me.
