A few years ago my bestie treated me for my birthday to a spa day, she's not from Barrie and she randomly called around and thankfully she booked us at Skinsational I was lucky to have Ria as my esthetician for the day and since then I've gone back every few weeks for her care. Ria has a huge heart, is super caring and I might add hilarious She's a perfectionist I have never had my nails done so perfectly, not to mention they last for weeks!! Skinsational is the best spa in Barrie. There is a reason they are repeatedly ranked number one. Darlene and her staff are truly amazing. They take the time to ensure all is safe with me, I'm diabetic so a little knick could cause a problem, and never had an issue. My elderly mother also goes for pedicures and Mandy is so good with her and pampers her every time. Have used a few different services over the years and never once was I disappointed. I had an appointment for a facial and a massage. I was almost 30 minutes late for my massage because my car ran out of gas. When I finally managed to get myself together and arrive for the appointment, I was greeted kindly and gently informed that my appointment would need to be shortened by 30 minutes. I agreed to this completely because it was my fault. However, the massage was still amazing and the therapist was so professional. I apologized to them for my lateness. They were so gracious and I only got charged for the 30 minutes. My massage felt great. I continued on after with an Ultimate Indulgence package with small electrolysis. I can't say enough about Skinsational and all the Girls that work there! This is my happy place! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I have tried many services and I can truly say I have never had a bad experience! The girls take their time and make you feel comfortable from the start. If you are looking for some relaxation or time for self care this is your place! I have been going to Skinsational for over 25 years now. The salon has grown over time - and the services offered have also grown into what seems to be how I am interested in maintaining my health and beauty as I age. Darlene is always finding ways to combat age in a natural and noninvasive ways. No surgery for me - but great facials that tone and keep my skin at its best. The salon is classy but not so fancy that I feel uncomfortable when I am there. We can talk - share - laugh. A great place for women (and men) to relax and be pampered by an amazing staff. Most of Skinsational's staff has been there for over 15 years. That speaks a lot to workplace environment. Each and every aesthetician is great at what they do - and each have their own area of expertise. I love the girls there. They always make me feel welcome. I strongly suggest visiting Skinsational and making it a destination to take care of your health and beauty needs. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST - WORST PEDICURE IN BARRIE MY NAILS WERE CUT VERY SHORT AND ON A SLANT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND I TOLD THE TECH THAT SHE RUINED THEM AND SHE DID NOT EVEN TRY TO MAKE THEM BETTER. The whole experience was a joke. I can't believe the salon has the nerve to charge someone $75 for a crappy pedicure. Far from meticulous, 0 attention to detail and a complete failure at putting the customer first. If someone is giving you a massage - I expect a massage.. Some pressure perhaps? I asked the technician Mandy to apply more pressure and she completely ignored me. A little rude considering you ruined my toe nails. On top of that you have to sit in a somewhat reclined non-massaging chair while fluorescent lights blind your eyes. My friend asked if the place was renovated recently? My technician said "yes, it was supposed to be done in a week by the owner's husband but it's obviously not finished, they're slackers". THAT IS NEVER AN OK THING TO SAY to a new customer - ever!! I called the owner immediately the next day (something I have never EVER done) and she gave me no credibility. "I don't think you're pedicure was that bad." She gave me a credit that I can't even use to fully cover a different service so unfortunately I have to give an honest recount of my visit. And for the record - this place is ridiculously overpriced. I've worked in Plastic Surgery before and the cut off for a microdermabrasion + facial should come in around $100. If you want a decent pedicure go to TOMI NAILS or LOVELY NAILS - avoid this place. :D read more

So, my wonderful husband got a a full spa day gift certificate for me, Mothers Day 2015. Firstly, I couldn't get booked for all of my services for weeks, so when I asked if I could get each of my services on separate days they obliged. My first service was a facial, I was very excited because it was my very first one. Turned out to be an absolute waste of time, all she did was put a whole bunch of crap on my face while massaging my shoulders. My second service were eyelash extensions, I have never actually been this mad over terrible service. I'm going out of town for the weekend, and I have a Christening to attend Monday, thus wanting individual lashes done ($150 btw) I sat there two and a half hours FOR NOTHING, for my lashes to look mediocre at very best and to be told "we are out of time how about you come back next week so I can finish" FINISH! REALLY!?? The staff there are not personable AT ALL or maybe they just don't cater well to people of colour, whatever the case may be, I want every last cent of our money back and she can take next week's appointment and shove it! These people have some nerve to call themselves a spa, and charge the prices they do for their low quality service. They will not hear the end of me until I am completely refunded! The only good thing I can say about this place is the nice Keurig coffee machine they have in the waiting area, that breakfast blend is great! read more
