Instead we saw Deborah Katcher NP. She was extremely knowledgeable with food allergies and great personality. We really liked her. The past few visits they had switched me to Amanda, who is an NP. Although she is very friendly, I feel that she is not as knowledgeable. The last time, my son visited, he was at the end of a cold, and she diagnosed him with a sinus infection and give him a Z-Pak. He had no pain in his sinuses, no fever, just yellow mucous. She stated because of the coloring of the mucus he has an infection. I am a registered nurse and know that the color of mucus does not determine an infection and that is an old myth. The color of snot does not dictate whether it is a viral or bacterial infection. Over prescribing antibiotics is not beneficial for anyone. When I left, I scheduled my next appointment with Deb and received a voicemail that my appointment with Amanda was canceled. I called back and informed them that I didn't want to see Amanda but would prefer to see Deb. That is when they informed me that Deb is no longer there. I feel that she may have left a while ago and I just was never informed in the sentence sit well with me as we were patients with her for a long time. So I left the practice. The other issue I don't love about this practice as I feel they price gauge your insurance. For example, anytime we would visit we would have our yearly check up and then have to do allergy testing on a different day, then go back for review of allergy testing. I switched his allergist to Dr. Katzen and when I called I assumed that we would have multiple visits and was told that it could all be done in one visit. It's much more convenient and they value our time.

We left with clear directions and the surgeon called that evening to check on my son. We used the valet parking because he couldn't walk for and this was very convenient. The decision to have a face lift was difficult because I had heard that it was extremely painful and being in the medical field, the idea of this type of procedure terrified me. After going to consultations with many surgeons, it was an easy decision to go forth with the surgery after meeting with Dr. Z and his staff. The initial appointment was easy to schedule, and I was very satisfied with everything from the location, affordability, professionalism of his office staff, and his personal evaluation and details of the procedure. He was extremely patient with my questions and concerns. After seeing him, I wanted this to be done ASAP! All my appointments were scheduled ahead of time. I was given specific instructions on medications pre and post-surgery, with detailed explanations of what to expect day of surgery, post recovery, and beyond. The procedure went very well; the pain was minimal and not at all what I had imagined. Recovery time is different for everyone, however, there is not a time when I ever worried about the end result. It's been 2 months. My face looked better after 2 weeks and keeps looking better every day. I am no longer avoiding mirrors and photographs as this has increased my confidence in all areas of my life... I no longer feel like some old lady.... I called to get my records faxed to get a second opinion and was yelled at by the office staff that they have and I quote, "so much paperwork to do to get insurance approvals for surgery and I'm not going to get insurance approvals if you are getting a second opinion. I'm not going to fax your records if you are going to go get a second opinion. You have notes that have been mailed from the appointments use those. It is so much work to get insurance to approve surgery" I do not have notes from my last two appointments and have not received those in the mail. This is a disgusting way to treat a patient. It is my right to have my records and my right to get a second opinion, particularly when I am having a surgery. I am appalled that the staff would treat anyone this, particularly someone who needs to have surgery in this manner.

After two…read moreback surgeries and several cortisone injections (the injections were painful and provided no relief), I turned to functional training and core resistance to stave off a back fusion. My physiatrist suggested acupuncture but I admit that I was suspicious of this treatment. I also have an arthritic knee and both my back and my knee caused so much pain, particularly at the end of a work day and kept me up at night. After serious thought, I made an appointment with Dr. H. Tavakoli, D.AC for a diagnosis and first treatment. As it turns out, Dr. "T" works with my neurosurgeons and physiatrist at the Brain and Spine Center at Southcoast Health. He recommended that we begin with acupuncture and cupping three times a week, weaning down to two a week and now on a maintenance program of once a week to keep pain in check. I cannot believe how much better I feel, how much energy the treatments provide and the warmth and encouragement of Dr. "T", who always reminds me to pay attention to my body and consider my limitations. His treatment and wisdom has served me so well that I would highly recommend anyone with similar conditions and any kind of pain to consider acupuncture and cupping. The result is incredible and Dr. Tavakoli is one of the most astute and compassionate physicians I've ever encountered.

I've been going to East Grove Family Dental for likely close to 15 years since i was a child…read more Everyone who i have dealt with who works here has always been kind and patient throughout the time i have gone here. I recently had a negative experience here that left me unwilling to come back and feeling almost purposely misled though it is quite possible this is not the original intention. I reached out as i had to have a tooth removed as it was pretty well shattered. I let them know upfront that i just started a new job and did not currently have any health insurance as i was not yet covered. I was told no worries just to come in and they would look at it. When i arrived i referenced the previous call and informed them that i did not have health insurance. i was there for under 10 minutes most of the time in the waiting room; while there the dentist briefly looked at my mouth seeing that the tooth was quite obviously shattered and then took a quick X-ray. I was handed the slip required to have it removed from a different practice at the front desk. When the conversation seemed to have ended i asked the woman at the desk if i owed them any thing, where as she responded with "Nope you're all set." I later received a bill from them weeks later. When i reached out to the office about the bill i had received i was responded to in a much more professional and polite manner; but of which can be summarized to: "well of course you have to pay, you came to a dentist office." I am well aware that as the consumer i am expected to pay for services when offered, however as it pertains to this experience i genuinely felt misled. Though i expected to pay when i first reached out to the company; at multiple points in our dealings it was reinforced that i was "all set" even when requesting information about what the cost would be. It is absolutely possible that this was simply a miscommunication however my requesting to pay my bill on the way out the door and being told i was "All set" cemented in my mind that this company valued me as a customer and they were looking out for me when i needed it. As previously stated with this not being the case it left me feeling quite the opposite. In this case i was the customer requesting information about what this transaction would cost making it clear i did not have insurance; and my concerns were brushed aside with full understanding that i would have to pay them despite the cost and was therefor not considered when it came down to what services to offer and was not informed of what this would cost me. It left me with the impression that the practice down the street that i have been coming to since i was a child was not concerned with the position i was in; and was equality impersonal enough to not inform me of what their services would cost me, even when openly asking to pay the bill while at the front desk. The ambiguous discussion of payment left me feeling mislead with the original impression that the company valued me; where as that same ambiguity left me unwilling to return to this company with the impression that they were not even concerned enough to answer my questions about billing even when standing directly in front of them.
