    Funnel cake

We've went to Skinny Bones pumpkin patch for several years, and I've always loved it. We will be back, but today was a bad day for funnel cakes. I have never written a review anywhere but felt compelled to share this. Every year we have made a tradition to get one and they have been so amazing, this year with raised prices at $12 for a regular funnel cake, it was a 20 minute wait and the funnel cake was at best a third of what it has been in years past. I mentioned this to several workers in which they said they have started to skip more on things this year. Please bring back the amazing funnel cakes from years past. We still love this place, but from being in the service industry for many years this seems like a weird place to skimp.

We brought our 8 month old for first time and it was so fun. Lots of places to take pictures. Family friendly activities and good food.

I might be biased because we truly just had a blissful weekday visit on our first-ever venture to Skinny Bones, but I wanted to share! We came at open, 9AM on a Thursday, left around 1PM because of storms, and then circled back around 3PM because I'd lost my credit card during our visit I was SO grateful they were understanding and accommodating - they allowed us to re enter and play for a couple more hours of fun! (To be clear, they DO offer this for everyone! I asked when we initially left due to the weather, and they said as long as we kept our wristband, they'd let us come back in) A much more generous and reasonable policy than many other entertainment facilities I've been to. +For my age group (3+5 y/o) this patch is the PERFECT size. In my 4-hour window in the morning, we didn't quite get to tackle every activity, but with the extra couple of hours in the evening we checked everything off our list! + Because it's smaller in size, the cost ($14 per person on a weekday) felt more appropriate than a certain other patch's entrance fees. Grateful for that! +The grounds are well maintained and well thought out - sweet little touches and photo ops sprinkled throughout +they include everything with your entry fee - even one free ball shot and endless trips on the cute daisy train and hayrack ride, etc. Optional "fees" are reserved to just animal feed, souvenir shopping, food or reserving a specific campsite. +We were able to pack our own snacks and light lunch without any issue -There isn't a ton of staff to supervise or explain things (again, this could be something that's different on a weekend visit). Wasn't ultimately a huge deal to me either. -if you do have bigger or very ambitious kiddos, it may not be a full day's worth of activities for your ticket price. -be aware, it is farm terrain - should you need a wheelchair or wagon or stroller, you may struggle or need additional accommodations as the paths are all dirt or gravel

This is our 12th year in a row going to Skinny Bones. All the way back to when the parking lot held about 25 cars. We found it by accident and now it's a family tradition. We have SO MANY October birthdays, we rent a fire pit, the whole family comes, we roast hot dogs and smores. It's grown every year but still in a "Pumpkin Patch Family Way". I remember when the owner would drive our hayride every year. He doesn't now but we speak to him every time he lights our fire. We go TOMORROW, OCTOBER 14TH and yes it will be chilly but everyone gets excited about our Skinny Bones day! We personally don't go to the "other one" much. We have yet to do the night time haunted corn maze, but we will. As my mom got older and couldn't walk as well, they would bring a gator up to her and bring her right to our pit. Before 2023 you called to make reservations and always spoke the owner's wonderful wife. I kinda missed that because we'd chat about our awesome tradition. Now with automated scheduling I didn't speak to her, but hopefully we see her. Ava has been going every year of her life, as has Bennett and Kaydee went at 5 and I'd now 16. You're never TOO OLD or TOO YOUNG for Skinny Bones. Sometimes I pay to use air cannons (the ONLY thing not included in entry fee) but I am this year. If you prefer the extremely spread out "other patch", that's great! We've gone. But Skinny Bones is literally as important to us as our Christmas Holiday traditions! The mad cow ride, check out "Betty". My mom's name and the kids always ride in her. Kaydee, unfortunately, got too big. I am writing a long post because this is so much fun in a FAMILY type atmosphere. We can sit at fire pit #1 and watch the kids on the slides and jumping balloons. So, the only thing Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch, some of us are 12 years older and those bikes ARE NOT as easy as they look! A tiny motor for us old-timers?? Do not miss the Haunted Trail. We do it every year and still love it. The only thing from "the other one" I really love is the big ball pit room with air cannons. You asked me last year if I thought of any new things to let you know! And a little zip line. But you're perfect so don't worry! TRUST ME! MORE AFFORDABLE, PLENTY OF FUN, AMAZING PUMPKINS, HOT COCOA, FOOD, RESTAURANT, KETTLE CORN, CARAMEL APPLES, A STORE AND SO MUCH FUN FOR ALL AGES. EVEN IF YOU GO TO "THE OTHER ONE", YOU GOTTA TRY SKINNY BONES! YOU WON'T REGRET IT! Skinny Bones has ratings and customers for life in our family, due to the family atmosphere. Friendliness off staff. Fun things to do. And honestly JUST FUN. We've gone every October and we've had to wear everything from shorts to winter coats. Doesn't matter! We're so ready for tomorrow! Our goal every year is all punches on the corn maze card!!! Love you Skinny Bones!

Genuinely enjoyed my time here! Wasn't expecting too much, but I was surprised. Corn maze is awesome, you actually can get lost in there ! Unfortunately, we went on a rainy day so we were not able to do daisy train or hayride. However, from the things that were open I'd say the corn maze was the best attraction. Admission price wasn't too bad but the food at Emmys Barn wasn't worth the money. Definitely eat before going. Thought eerie trail was cute, and I loved the animals they had! Someone said they were free range, so if they wanted to get out of their enclosed area they had that option. Worth a visit for sure!

The best pie ever. Tons of great family photo spots. Lots of slides and stuff that little kids will love. Petting zoo. Neat gift shop. Well worth it.

We love all that Skinny Bones have to offer every fall! The open layout of the farm is perfect for bringing young kids. Our favorites are the corn pit, corn maze and frienkin-slide!

Found receipt! The cheese curds were $7.99 + tax!!

The admission price is worth it for how many attractions there are here, and there is truly something for every age! Upon entering the farm, you are greeted with tons of cute decorations, garland, and photo ops, which are super fun and make the experience all-encompassing. I also thought they did a great job with signage since I was on the hunt for the tulips! There were two main sections for tulips: U-Pick, and for viewing only. Along my way to the decorative tulip fields, I was greeted by the cutest llamas and cows, and there were tons of adorable farm themed toys and set-ups, which would make this a great place to bring your family. The tulip fields alone were worth this visit. They were absolutely magnificent and there was such a gorgeous variety. Even with difficult weather, they still looked pristine and it didn't even feel like I was in Nebraska anymore! I used to live along the border of Germany/the Netherlands (where tulips are famed to grow) and I have seen many tulip attractions throughout my life, and Nelsons was still one of the best and most enjoyable experiences. I also chose to do U-Pick, which I regretted only because of the freezing weather, high winds, and my choice to wear a sundress, none of which is Nelsons fault. If the weather had been better this would be such a fun experience, and I still enjoyed browsing for the prettiest flowers. After picking a small bouquet, I made my way to the Farm Market, which was a huge shop full of everything from local products, foods, and goods, to Tulip Festival merch and fun mementos. There was also a small cafe where I got an iced coffee and took a moment to relax and enjoy the moment. I also ended up buying a small Schleich chicken figurine as a souvenir, and everyone who worked at Nelsons was incredibly sweet and friendly. I will absolutely be returning in the future and recommending this experience to everyone I know!

This was our first visit to Nelson's Farm for the Strawberry Festival, and overall we had a very…read moregood experience. Originally, we planned to come just to pick strawberries because we had seen information online that led us to believe that was an option without attending the full festival. When we arrived, however, we learned that picking strawberries required purchasing full festival admission. Weekend tickets were $20 per person, with adults and children paying the same price. I think clearer communication on the website, social media, and at the farm itself regarding admission requirements would help set expectations. Since we ended up purchasing festival admission, we decided to explore everything the event had to offer...and there was quite a bit. The atmosphere reminded me a little of Valas Pumpkin Patch, but with a more relaxed, family-owned feel. In some ways, it felt more like the Valas I remember from growing up. Nelson's offers plenty of activities, but it still feels authentic and community-focused rather than highly commercialized. There were several giant slides, jumping pillows, farm animals to pet and feed, a playground, a corn pit, football and basketball games, and many other activities for kids. I imagine many of these attractions are available throughout the season, not just during Strawberry Festival. One thing they did especially well was the festival theming. There were adorable strawberry-themed photo opportunities throughout the property, cute displays, and thoughtful decorations. In the café and market, they had strawberry garlands, themed signs, and all sorts of strawberry-inspired merchandise. The market was particularly well done, with everything from strawberry candies and treats to strawberry-themed hair clips, keychains, cups, and other fun items. Like many farms, they offer a tractor-pulled ride out to the strawberry fields, which was much appreciated. The strawberry patch itself was larger than I expected. Some areas had been picked over, but there were still plenty of good berries if you took your time and looked around. It took my family of three about 30 minutes to pick roughly 1 1/2 pounds. We were told the berries are smaller this year because they're June-bearing strawberries, but they were incredibly sweet and flavorful. At $4 per pound, the pricing felt very reasonable for fresh local strawberries and comparable to what I'd expect to pay at a farmers market. One area for improvement would be adding more shaded seating for parents. Some of the attractions--particularly the large slides and jumping areas--have limited shade and seating nearby. We visited on a hot, humid Nebraska day, which isn't exactly unusual, so a few more places for adults to sit comfortably while supervising children would make the experience even better. I also appreciated seeing several American flags displayed around the property. It's always nice to see that sense of patriotism and community pride. Finally, every employee we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The staff genuinely seemed focused on creating a positive customer experience and maintaining the feel of a family farm. They do a very good job of that. Despite the confusion regarding admission, we had a fun day, picked some fantastic strawberries, and would absolutely consider visiting again.
