I visited D S Family Farm this weekend for a tour and also some Animal Welfare Approved / Certified Grassfed beef. What a great heard of cattle. No growth hormones, just quality pastureland to graze with fresh water and free choice minerals. The nice folks at D S Family Farm also move the cattle to a new pasture every day. This makes for healthy cows and a healthy grassland. I can't say enough good things about this farm and these great people! Be sure and call with questions on their hours and what they've got in stock. My highest recommendation! read more

The cattle herd at DS Family Farm is on pasture 365 days per year. The herd grazes in a continuous motion across the prairie mimicking natures. This produces Pasture Grazed Beef that is beyond just Grassfed!

History

Established in 2011.

Cattle arrived on the farm in 2011. The land has not been "farmed" since 1987 when the cropland area was planted to CRP Grasslands.

Doug and Sheila have imagined a better way to raise cattle and are now living that vision out at DS Family Farm. Parents worry about what their kids are really eating.
