I was fortunate enough to get my very first appointment with her, years ago, when she was a doctor at Southwest Skin Specialists. What makes Dr. Shannon Heck's results far superior to others' is that she uses the tiniest needles, maneuvers around every fine capillary to avoid bruising, knows exactly what needs to be done to what extent, and is so precise and gentle. Even her personality is so gentle, genuine and beautifully calm. She is such a professional and hires the best assistants who are also so caring as they apply ice before and after each needle is inserted. Another way that she prevents pain is that she will give you a prescription for the (very low price) numbing cream so that you can start the numbing process at home an hour before. Believe me, this makes a "night & day" difference from other places who apply the numbing cream while you are in their office. I have been going to her for many years (so has my mother) and she has never left a bruise from needles which is absolutely astonishing because I have bruised excessively when I had any type of facial filler or "botox" done by other doctors, plastic surgeons or cosmetic practices. The very unsightly bruises would last for weeks. In fact, my helpful advice to you is to never have your lips filled by a plastic surgeon. I learned the hard way (with 2 different TOP plastic surgeons) that they are not as skilled! I was left with excessive bruising, embarrassing lumps, uneven lips that lasted for over 6 months and bumps that lasted a year. You may find yourself paying a lot of money and then not be able to go out in public for quite a long time. However, if this HAS happened to you, Dr. Shannon Heck can dissolve and fix it for you. I first met with Mr. Lal for a vitiligo study back in 2023. My first visit was an absolute disorganized mess. I reported to the address I was given, but the receptionist had no idea who I was, who Mr. Lal was, or even vaguely familiar of a vitiligo study that was literally happening in that office. It turns out Mr. Lal was using a back room of affiliated dermatology to conduct this study. I assume he did not have permission. I worked primarily with his two medical assistance, who likely never attended medical school, as they were also the most disorganized "medical professionals" I have ever encountered. Mr. Lal was late to every one of my visits, which were at least weekly, sometimes more frequent. I waited for up to an hour at times, at his mercy, and he never made an apology once. Part of the study required using the Excimer laser to burn off layers of skin in the affected areas. It was obvious Mr. Lal had never used an Eximer before. He literally caused the third-degree burns on my hands. I have had previous experience with the laser, and in trained hands, it is not as destructive as it was in Mr. Lal's hands. I did not complete the study. I drove over two hours every week to be treated by imbeciles who had no business involving themselves in such a complex study. I bailed before the study was complete. I hope it caused a financial loss for Mr. Lal, as he deserves nothing for his incompetence.

I was left with hypopigmentation on my cheeks and scarring on my chin and nose. I found Dr. Lal through a recommendation, and he has been the one guiding me through the remediation and healing process. He travels often for speaking engagements and he sees a lot of patients, so there can be a wait, but he is absolutely worth it. He knows exactly what he's doing, explains everything clearly, and will never recommend anything harmful or unnecessary. You can tell he genuinely has your best interest in mind. On top of that, he's funny, personable, and just has a great heart. They have billed my insurance and i have self paid without issue. I do book in advance because i want to keep things on schedule. On a rare occasion they have had to reschedule they have made every effort to accommodate. I rarely wait long to be seen but when there is a delay i don't mind. He is incredibly busy and takes such good care of me and my skin. Its because when he sees a patient he is 100% present and sometimes things take longer than expected. The staff is amazing mianni and yossana are the best medical assistants I have ever met in my entire life and I'm not exaggerating. I've gone to Morgan for injectable's and would highly recommend her. They are definitely the assets. The front desk people are really friendly and do a great job accommodating all the requests. I see Nikki the most and her efficiency - I'm sure its not easy being the main point of contact at such a busy practice but they do a great job The lobby is pleasant and parking is easy. I take the stairs but there is an elevate if mobility is a challenge. No biggie -- she removed that mistaken appointment as soon right after I texted her. But then she cancelled my 5/30 appointment a few minutes later. Luckily, I purchased through Groupon and was able to get a refund -- this is important since I do NOT recommend ever giving this business your credit card number. When 5/30 rolled around, I received a text that I had an appointment in four hours. She re-added my appointment to her booking platform that same day, so I used that link to cancel. I received a text saying I'd be charged $25. She only backed down when I sent screenshots of the cancellations they initiated (and probably since they didn't have my payment info on file). No apologies ever in this process. I also don't think texts from their main number are automated like they make them seem due to grammatical errors ("press C for confirming"), so I must block them to avoid getting these wild promotional texts.
