This was my first facial and I must say if every experience is like the one I had, it won't be my last. The woman was very pleasant and her voice was so calming. She complimented my skin which was nice and because I really don't know what kind of skin I have (dry, oily, combination, etc) she recommended what she thought would be best for me. Nice music, a nice shoulder rub - I was in heaven. The location is very easy to miss, but there is a flag outside as a landmark. The parking lot has adequate space, but it is a shared lot so I can imagine on a busy night for one of the other businesses it may be tricky. The entrance to the business was actually in the back which was pretty confusing, but once you make your way in I promise it's uphill from there! My co-worker is late to EVERYTHING so unfortunately due to scheduling issues the woman was not able to accommodate her that day..but that's understandable. All-in-all a great experience

I never write a review, especially if its a good one. You know the truth behind the saying, "the…read moreonly people that write on here are the ones that have something negative to say." Well thats not the case for me. I've struggled with acne, persistent adult acne to be exact, for the last 5 years. Being a 25 year old female with terrible skin has been a total let down! So I bet you can imagine that I've tried EVERYTHING under the sun for it. I've probably spent 10,000-15,000 on products, procedures and makeups. I was at my whits end with my best friends wedding being in November, I just started googling "acne spas in long island" and La Piele came up. I was totally doubtful since it had "private boutique" next to it and thought to myself, "they cant know what I need." But I went for it. Its been 2 weeks, 3 this coming Wednesday and I am amazed. Kathryn and Michelle (the owner) are the only ones that work there and its this cute, cozy, clean office with two rooms. Michelle has gone through acne in her teen years so this is apparently what made her become so involved and starting up a spa, but with my schedule all over the place, working with Kathryn was a better fit. And can I just say I love her! At my most vulnerable, insecure moments of seeing my face with NO makeup on, she jokes around and makes me feel super comfortable. She knows about my tight budget with this wedding coming up and never makes me feel like I HAVE to buy something. If anything, she gives me free samples and from trial and error at home I go back to her actually buying the products (that should speak volumes in itself.) At every appointment, she starts me with an enzyme peel, then blue and red light therapy, and then this creme. She has got me hooked on Glo Mineral products. When I first went to her, I thought she was like every other person at a spa trying to sell me on products they buy and NOPE, the products I bought helped my skin SO much. I am still in shock at how much better my face looks after only 2 weeks (knocking on wood to not jinx myself.) Even though I am going to La Piele for acne, all the other clients I seem come in have amazing skin. It has to mean a lot when the employees are genuine, but even when their customers are just as genuine, its awesome. I'll be there getting ready to go in and their other customers just talk to me and tell me how far they've come and how much Kathryn and Michelle has helped them. They tell me their own struggles and I look at their skin and am amazed at how far they've come. Its so reassuring to see REAL cases. I've been raving about La Piele to everyone and only felt it was appropriate to rave about them on here. Acne is a depressing thing, mentally and physically and I cant owe Kathryn enough for getting me to where I am now. I just know that my experience with La Piele will be a very long and loyal one.

The internet must have been tracking me because I kept seeing ads for laser hair removal. That…read morewasn't what I was looking for, so I ignored them... until I missed one wax appointment with my regular establishment. Suddenly, with an upcoming beach trip approaching, I found myself urgently searching for a new place where I could feel confident and beach-ready. During my search, I was intentional about finding either a Black-owned establishment or, at minimum, a Black wax specialist. Unfortunately, my search in Suffolk County was coming up short. I turned to Facebook's Black Long Island group, but many of the businesses I found seemed to no longer be active due to the lack of recent posts. Then Prestige Beauty Lounge appeared again. This time, I decided to take a closer look, and I'm so glad I did. The business checked several important boxes for me: it was conveniently located, Black-owned, offered services from a Black wax specialist, and had a wide range of availability. Their pricing was also comparable--and even slightly better--than what I typically pay. When I called, I was shocked by how quickly they could accommodate me for both an underarm wax and a Brazilian. "25?! I'm sorry, did I hear you correctly? How is that possible?" was my actual response to the person who answered the phone. I later learned that the specialist had previously worked at European Wax Center, where she received training that helped her provide efficient and thorough services. At this point, Prestige Beauty Lounge was already earning major points in my book--but the experience only got better. On the day of my appointment, I was greeted by Arriannah, who shared that she was part of a mother-daughter team. During my service, we talked about my waxing history, her own experiences in the industry, and the values we both shared. She also took the time to educate me about proper aftercare. Before I knew it, my service was complete. Days later, I'm still extremely satisfied with my results. I appreciate the professionalism, efficiency, and personal connection I experienced. I'm looking forward to returning and becoming a long-term customer.
