Hands down the best experience I've had with a snowboard shop. I got in touch with Matt a few weeks…read morebefore heading to Whistler to figure out their demo policy. Within an hour I had my answer: any board $25 CAD/day; bring some bindings. Upon arrival you walk up a flight of stairs that looks down on the shop where all the goods are hand made, through the door a small showroom with boards prefabbed for purchase. My board was ready and waiting. To top if off they have a bench with tools in the showroom to toss the bindings on on the spot. I was in an out in 10 minutes with positive vibes. The AMF rode fantastic. Sturdy enough for some heavy carving but playful enough to goof off in the park. When returning the demo I was treated to a personal tour of the factory. Beyond being manufactured on site, each board features graphics from artists in the Sea To Sky region and the materials are all locally sourced. With how overloaded the market is with mass produced goods, it's nice to see a shop that puts in the hard work. Next season I'll probably be riding a Prior board. Not only because the AMF rode like a dream, but because the service was awesome.

UPDATE 1/17/23 It took several more months, and numerous…read moreemails and phone calls, but I finally received a replacement board. It is not perfect: the base is different than what I ordered and, compared to the original board, the top sheet was printed much too darkly. That said I have numerous days in on the board and I absolutely love it. Incorporating both the carbon and nano carbon resulted in a board that is crazy light for a 176. The board rips. The new owner seems very sincere in his effort to get things on the right track. Given everything that has occurred, there's no way to give a 5 star review. But the board is amazing and now that they have re-emerged, the people at Prior are great as they have always been in the past. Here's hoping they continue to work out the kinks and keep making great rides.

We came here looking at the snowboards. Ryan was kind enough to help us. My husband wanted to…read morepurchase a snowboard, but we had already rented our gear. We didn't pick it up yet, so Ryan told us that we should look into possibly cancelling our rentals and getting a gift card to use at showcase. We thought that this wasn't possible, but after making a few phone calls and visiting Carleton lodge, we were able to get a refund on our rentals. That meant that my husband was able to purchase the snowboard that he wanted. Ryan was very knowledgeable on the different boards and explained why. He was able to explain the conditions that certain boards were good for. I also decided to purchase a pair of boots for myself as well instead of renting them. I tried on a couple different shoes. One of them was the vans and it was a little tighter than most shoes. I decided to get the Cadence boot in black. It was the most comfortable. I was also able to get a pair of gloves (burton) and pants (burton). Overall, if you are looking for snowboard gear this is the go to place. Worth the fact that the staff is very helpful and friendly. That is something that is sometimes difficult to find. Decent prices considering you are in whistler village. Definitely stop by here for any gear that you need for snowboarding!
