I had the fish tacos and my husband had the chicken fried chicken, both were outstanding! Service was fast, setting was clean and nice. I'd definitely eat here again when traveling through Sweetwater. read more

No frills local restaurant with delicious food and friendly service. I had the hamburger steak and my partner had the quesadilla with beef. We had the chips and salsa for an appetizer. It was jarred salsa but still pretty decent. For those who drink unsweet tea it was very fresh. A lot better of times I've ran into not so fresh unsweet tea at other places. read more

They have redone the interior and it looks great. Sometimes the a/c can't keep up with the amount of people. My favorite meal is the mushroom chicken, mashed pots, and Mac and cheese. Their burgers are so good. Honestly I've not had any bad food from Skeets. Wait staff is on point and ALWAYS FRIENDLY! read more

Dropped in on a road trip for lunch and had a great experience. They were packed for lunch but we got a table and were waited on promptly. The hostess and waitress were great; helpful and friendly.. The wait for or order was not bad considering the full house, and the food was great. We had a Boston burger, lemon pepper chicken and nachos, and all 3 were excellent. Generous portions, great flavor and good value. Very diverse menu. read more

We chose to eat here because it was within walking distance of the hotel we were staying at. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was delicious and the service was good. Thre were a lot of people waiting when we arrived, but it didn't take long to get a table. The only thing I didn't like was that it was a cold night and they didn't have any hot tea, and the green beans were too peppery for my taste. The vegetable chicken was tender, juicy, and nicely seasoned. My hubby had the fried seafood and was equally pleased. If we lived in the area, we would go back since there were several other items on the menu I would have enjoyed trying. read more

The service was quick and friendly. The food was delishes! The atmosphere was very pleasant ( told my husband they're playing that kind of country where you want a beer and to scoot a boot!) But all jokes aside, a very enjoyable experience! Definitely will be back when out this direction! read more

Service was very friendly. Appreciate that in today's world. Meal was good, although I don't know why my sides were served in small plastic cups when the presentation would be much nicer on the plate. Recently updated and frankly the best dinner in town. Just a warning for those looking for an alcoholic drink with dinner, it's dry read more

Passing through on a road trip. This place is not for looks, it definitely needs a facelift inside and out, non paved parking means people park how they want. Definitely a small town restaurant with great food and friendly service. I had the green chili burger and onion rings. The burger was juicy and flavorful, onion rings were hand battered. You will definitely have a wait at peak times as it is busy! Definitely worth waiting for great food!! read more

Both the service and the food were A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I had CFS and my hubby had a 12 oz. Steak. I only regret that we live so far away and won't be able to go again read more

Delicious!!! The sauce that the mushrooms were in was a little sweet but the hamburger steak was very good and so was the chicken fried steak. We plan on going back! read more

So glad we stopped here. Chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak is where it's at!! We really liked the puff bread too! The mashed potatoes need improvement and the bathroom walls need to be painted but it looks like they were doing some remodeling so understandable. But our waitress Kiersten went about and beyond for us and our quarter hungry little girl :-) this dive diner needs to be on the map!!!!!! Would definitely eat here again read more

Amazing Chicken Fried Steak and service. I ordered with the hostess and sat out front with my pups. They were prompt and thoughtful, even gave me metal silverware even tho I was "to go". The food was as good as it gets with good portions. Theres a field next door to run your dogs should you need it. Everyone coming and going was really nice. Best service in Tx. Gravy is also on point. Thx for a great meal. I'll be there again soon.

We ate here before a football playoff game. We arrived at 11:00 when they opened. Our group of 7 were seated promptly. The wait staff was quick to take our drink order. After we ordered our food it came in about 15 minutes. I had a burger and onion rings. Both were delicious. Others had steak fingers, chicken fried steak, fried fish etc.. Everything was really good. The food was made from scratch. The prices were quite reasonable as well. We will eat here the next time we're in Sweetwater. Highly recommended. read more

When we lived in Sweetwater 20+ years ago, skeets was a go to spot for dinners after softball/tee ball/little league practice.back then his location was on the north side in a converted house. Back then we all had go to items on the menu. SouthernStyle Fish, the Santa Fe burger. We always ate them like ther was no tomorrow. Now its 2023. Skeets is out on the Interstate, larger building constructed just for them. I stopped there for dinner on the way through recently. Out of a painfully acute sense of nostalgia I ordered the Southern Style Fish again. Fish filet drenched in cornbread batter and deep fried, with spicy cole slaw and a baked potato. Fully loaded. It'll use up your daily and a chunk of your weekly Weight Watchers points, but, goddamn, it's worth it. It's just as sinfully good as it was in 1989 after a big tee ball game. You can't stop. I mean literally, you cannot frigging stop. The fish (not sure if it's catfish or cod) was perfectly breaded and the breading is killer good. Stupid good. The potato was still smoking when I got it. The slaw was a bit of a disappointment, but who the hell cares. The only drawback was that they were completely and totally slammed, and the wait staff was hard pressed to refill tea and bring the check. I'm afraid to go again for fear of disappointment. And, considering the time ,and circumstances, I probably won't. But Skeets was a good and tasty deal 20-30 years ago. And it holds true today. read more

I've eaten in this restaurant a number of times and I have never gotten bad food or service. It is a busy place because the food is good.

Generous portions of tasty food served by friendly, happy people. What more could you ask for? What lacks in decor is more than compensated by the delicious dishes. Affordable prices as well. Highly recommended. read more

Great food right off the 20. Lets you avoid Bucks ( which is horrendous). Waitresses are down home country. They take care of you real good. Menu affords everyone choices. I had a burger (Texas beef is the bomb)! SWMBO had Chicken Cordon Bleu. In Sweetwater???? Yup. And it was delicious. The ambiance is dated, but very comfortable. Love it, love it, love it. Now a mandatory stop when visiting family in Corinth. We like roadtrips. read more

Ordered the fajitas steak salad.. not too bad. Service was good, atmosphere ok, but felt like the twilight zone for some reason. I ate by myself and there was just odd patrons in here that I would catch staring at me. Large group of families in there eating together... I guess it was odd to everyone I was dining by myself. But the food, service was all good. But didn't like all the people looking at me like I should have gotten my food to go. Maybe a one off Tuesday night... but it is what it is I guess. read more

Holy Hannah, if America is the land of the free than skeets is the land of good food and great service. The fried pickles are some of the best I've ever had, the steak was juicy and very yum, the fish breading was crispy and the inside was flakey, and let's just say there's a reason their chicken fried steak is voted the best in Texas. Our server was the sweetest person ever and gave us all her recommendations, Caitlyn you are the best! read more

I live in Las Vegas. 12 years ago I ate a steak here and it was the best steak I've ever had. Was so flavorful and melted in your mouth. I tried eating here in 2020, but unfortunately they were already temporarily closed because of the pandemic. Currently on a road trip from Las Vegas to Woodward,OK. Drove 5 hours out of the way JUST TO EAT HERE. I was really nervous because it's been so long, didn't know if it was going to be as good as I remembered it. IT WAS STILL AS GOOD AS I REMEMBERED IT. Juicy, tender and full of flavor. I can't not wait to come back through on our way home. The staff is nice and friendly, and welcoming. The building itself could use some upgrades, especially the bathroom. But the restaurant was clean and tables were cleared and reset rather quickly. :) read more
