I contacted the company and they tell me that in "fine print it says I could get a different color" of course I did not see the "fine print" The only color listed on the site is pink. My daughter was very disappointed with the board and I am very disappointed with the company that they won't take it back. So COVID has put a damper on holiday shopping, and most small businesses have opted (by state mandate) to not allow in store shopping. However, I will say that the Slate Warehouse made shopping easy with lots of options for shipping or curbside pickup. I bought a Longboard and sweatshirt for my daughter online. Having bought from here a couple times, I have to point out a few things. The attention to detail amazes me! I bought griptape from here, and I have to say, the $5 shipping was totally worth it! The griptape came in a huge box in order to stop it from wrinkling during transport. In general, when I buy stuff, it usually comes in 1-3 days (CA). Whenever I roll through SLO I always make it a point to swing by Skate Warehouse. Usually I buy around 4 decks and a set or two of wheels since they offer military discount and/or have a sale going on that you shouldn't pass up. I've been coming here for over 10 years and from supporting homies that worked here during college, being deployed 3 times and ordering boards/gear to overseas, and swinging by on a roadtrip. Slight note that recently their location has changed to now being by the airport (747 Buckley Rd.). Skate Warehouse remains the same great group of people selling skateboards, accessories, and clothing online but also with a small but legit storefront. Terrible! If Zero Stars was possible... first and last time visiting. Let me start by saying you don't treat paying customers like roaches, I went for the infamous Jarritos SBs. So got there a few hours early expecting to wait in a line or a raffle of sorts. I pull up to an empty parking lot. Next thing I know a group of customers approached me. Asked if I was waiting for the shoes. They informed me that if I stayed parked in the establishments parking. They "skate warehouse,"could call off the shoes sale? They told me I had to park somewhere else. Come to find out there was a line of paying customers hiding behind the building at another establishment. What kind of business makes customers hideout? No type of self ownership in part by the business to actually care about the customers and organize the sale. Waited hours on hours till the time they opened. Just to get attitude from the employee saying a snarky comment about who said there's gonna be a drop today? Everyone has been waiting all weekend long since all the other normal skate shops released on Saturday. No information posted on the webpage, nothing... leaving your customers out in the wind. Idk if it's a power trip or just kids running the shop with no respect for anyone. I totally understand it's a skate shop but if your selling shoes that are big in the shoe game. I stumbled upon skatewarehouse.com by absent-mindedly looking for Vans clothing. Nothing in particular. I ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes instead. They both showed up brand new, well packaged and the shipping was fast for anything but Amazon! It even came with free stickers which is something I'm not afraid to admit I was excited about as a 35 yr old man. I ordered on Saturday or Sunday and got them Wednesday. That's damn good. Ordered online, when I received my deck it was already scuffed up. So I asked for a return and they denied it and stated they can give me $8 in store credit because I ordered with grip tape applied. I dont want instore credit for a shop I will absolutley never be returning to. I find it ridiculous that they can have a service that voids them from damaged products. Not to metion the grip tape job they did wasn't good. It had large air bubbles through out. This is my second time going through this shop. The first time I ordered a deck a few years ago I received it warped(grip tape applied) and they gladly accepted a return. If you do go through this company DON'T order with grip tape applied. Buy a deck and get the tape done at a local shop they will do a better job and you can at least inspect the board before applying. read more

We (my wife and I) had made a large order online, for in-shop pickup. Two completes, shirts, cups etc. And because we arrived around 45 minutes before they closed, we were greeted with two pale, greasy and very rude, apathetic employees who obviously felt slighted by our late arrival. Since we all know how arduous and laborious working in a skate shop is, how unfairly skate shop proletarians are treated, how unsafe, dangerous, and oppressive their work environment really is... I guess I can't blame them for being forced to apply grip tape to two decks, a half hour before closing. I imagine their hands were already cracking and bleeding from all the forced labor they had clearly done that day, and their entire lives. It's not as though they're privileged central coast residents who have never worked a day in their unbathed lives, and don't sit on a stool doing absolutely nothing for 6-8 hours a day, 2 or 3 days a week. Just to preface this review, the storefront is really just a "pay-n-pickup" for their online store, so it's recommended that you know exactly what you want before you get there, because while you can avoid shipping costs, there's really not much available to peruse. Being someone who has skated since I was a wee lad, I've been to my fair share of skate shops. That being said, if you think that the nearby Central Coast Surfshop is anything but a clothing store, I feel for you man. Please don't buy a skateboard at a sporting goods store unless you know what you're doing, otherwise your poor kid is gonna beef it HARD when their incompetent plastic wheels get stuck on a tiny stick. You have to find the real deal. You have to go to a true skate shop. Unfortunately, after visiting Skate Warehouse, I'm still searching. Having heard rave reviews of this place in high school from my friends who regarded a skateboard as more of a religion than a form of transportation (myself being in the latter category), it immediately came to mind when my girlfriend decided she would like to learn to skate, and I decided I would like to teach her. At that time, however, I figured the "Warehouse" in their name was some kind of indication of the size of the shop. Well, that is certainly true to some extent- it's literally in a warehouse, however, all it really means is that 99% of the space is devoted to their mail-order business (something which there is no indication of based on the name alone or indeed even the Yelp reviews at large). The first thing you'll notice when you get there is the ten or so punk kids buzzing around on their skateboards with no place better to be. This would be a non-issue, as every decent skate shop comes pre-packaged with a similar crowd of parent-less extreme sportsters, however, this particular brand of loiterer will be kind enough to dog you with that "What the hell are YOU doing here you god damn scrub?!" look, as they try their damnedest to invade your personal space and act generally obnoxious. Look kid, I know you think you're hot shit now because you can do a kickflip and ollie a three-stair, but talk to me in a few years when your knee is blown out because you've bailed one too many times in a ten-foot concrete half-pipe and we'll see who's a bad-ass then. We promptly went inside and tried to pick out a complete deck for her, and I was shocked to see that they have hardly anything on display. It's cool though, no big deal. I am willing to take some blame for not researching them first. However, good luck getting the bearded hipster behind the counter to notice you with the 100 kids in there who have no intention of buying anything ever bullshitting with him about nothing in particular. Then, when he finally has a free ear to acknowledge you, you'll have to give him a loud "um, excuse me?!" to get his attention after twenty minutes of waiting just so he can act annoyed that you exist as he points to the computers in the corner and explains "We're basically just an online retailer. This is where you can pick up purchases." As if you're some kind of idiot for not knowing that already. It might seem overzealous to be offended by all this, but keep in mind that I'm trying to get someone new excited about a sport I know and love, and it's nothing short of embarrassing to have to spend the whole time explaining away to them why its practitioners are a bag of dicks. OK, granted it's Christmas time and perhaps everyone else was looking for the same thing, but to find them a week before Christmas and may get it before then, I'm feeling quite lucky to have found these shoes... I'm surprised that the Skate Warehouse didn't come up as one of the top sites when doing a search. Upon receipt the board was blue and black and their response was that they have no control over the color of the board and that there is a disclaimer apparently online (who knows where) about it. Called to purchase skates. They walked me through the sizing process. Talked to me about plates, once I decided they took my order, I paid, they sent me my skates, plates, wheels and bearings. The skates were the wrong size, off by at least 2 sizes (too small). I called to send them back to get the correct size, didn't even want a refund, just wanted skates and plates that fit. They basically told me to bad, that I should have come in. When I had called. They said they didn't actually have the boot in the shop. That is why they helped me size them. Too busy to get in there a month later I try to get something cheap in return, Maybe even a blank deck. Was told no due to the month wait. So I proceeded to get a quote for a blank deck. Was $20 .
