Dr. Thornquist is an older doctor with many years of experience. My overall impression of his…read moreoffice is that he comes into the office late and doesn't consider the patient's time valuable. The longest I've waited is an hour just to be put into a patient room. His staff is very curteous, always apologetic for his tardiness. Dr. Thornquist isn't a "thorough" doctor. He tends to assume the problem and from what other patients have told me, he tends to prescribe the same thing to each patient he sees (steroids, narcotics, etc.). I would not recommend this doctor to anyone who has addiction issues. I also wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone who doesn't have the patience to wait to see a doctor. Dr. Thornquist has a pleasant personality but I don't feel he has his patient's best interests at heart.

During the course of my care, I was informed that I might require an ostomy, and I believe the surgical management of my endometriosis was improperly performed, resulting in significant harm. I am also concerned that Dr. Lindemann demonstrated a lack of understanding regarding the effects of Lupron therapy, specifically that patients undergoing such treatment may not exhibit active endometriosis lesions due to hormonal suppression. Despite this, my symptoms and condition were dismissed. Additionally, I experienced what I perceived to be gaslighting behavior and inappropriate characterization of chronic pain patients as drug-seeking, which I found deeply troubling and inconsistent with accepted standards of compassionate medical care. As a result of my experience, and based on discussions with others who report similar concerns, I believe patients should exercise caution and seek additional opinions when considering care under this provider. This statement reflects my personal experience and opinions regarding the care I received.

This has got to be the most unprofessional medical business office I have ever tried to communicate…read morewith and experience. I am writing about my experience with the particular office on behalf of a patient (my father). We were referred to Dr. Haghighi as a secondary opinion for a cancer diagnosis. Not sure why this was appropriate to begin with since he is a gastroenterologist. But besides that, an available appointment wasn't until 2 months after the initial staging with the primary physician. Once we finally did see the Doctor, the office took another 2 months coming up with a treatment plan. We were told this was after "consulting" with doctors in Seattle (don't actually know if this took place) for over 6 weeks, though the treatment plan he came up with for the cancer patient was a colonoscopy and nothing to do with cancer. When we tried to obtain files to see an oncologist for appropriate treatment and care, the office assistant hung up on us after stating HIPAA policy violation though we have been previously authorized by the patient and there is a signed waiver authorization on file. The most unprofessional staff and most unpleasant experience during this difficult time.

Husband was pulling half the deck off, and stood on a rusty old nail. We went to Urgent Care on…read moreJewel Lake Road, because it used to be very local to us. It's a small office, cosy. The nurse receptionist was very pleasant, took husband's details, and took him back immediately. I was invited to go with him, which I most assuredly wanted to do, and see him get a needle in the arm. She examined the puncture wound, after taking all of his vitals. She was very fast and efficient. I expected to have to wait for a doctor to come in, which is kind of standard in any doctor's office, in my experience. The doctor was there within a few minutes, and he had a good sense of humour, which I liked. He told husband to rest the foot, and keep his weight off it. ( "that ain't happening" I muttered under my breath) He also said that tetanus isn't in Alaska. I found that curious, and I googled it. So whilst it's rarer up here, in my opinion, I would venture forth that if anyone was gonna get it, my husband would be the one. He's quite an unlucky fella. Anyway, the tetanus booster shot was prescribed, and the doctor left the room. Seconds later, the nurse came back in, and administered the shot, and put a bandaid over the puncture wound. No antibiotics were prescribed at this stage, however she said they'd be in touch in two days to make sure it was healing well, and to contact them should any signs of infection become apparent. We were in and out within 20 minutes. Now yes, this is a smaller office, and I personally prefer it, due to how speedily we were seen. I had a wait of over 2 hours when going to the one where REI used to be. That one is large, with lots of receptionists, and we had to wait in the car, till we were called into the building for an examination. I prefer this small office approach.
