Horrifying! This sheriff does not have the right to bully businesses online with a facebook web page maintained by employees paid by our tax dollars. This is government sanctioned now. Sheriff Reichardt's posting this has resulted in death threats against the owner and employees of not just one Lucky Teriyaki restaurant he was targeting but at least 5 others from Seattle to Tacoma. This amounts to government sanctioned bullying and harassment by law enforcement. Will he be posting stories about individuals who have broken no laws next? This restaurant has grounds for a lawsuit. And what an unbelievable display by this sheriffs department as they sit back and bask in the power to turn the community against these restaurant owners and their employees. We should all expect better than this. The taxpayers better hope this minority business owner can't afford a good lawyer because they sure have a good case against the county. Citizens are arrested fined or jailed loosing their freedom based on the word of this sheriffs department and this is their level of maturity? I suggest everyone call the Skagit County board of commisions at 360-416-1300 and voice their concern about this sheriff using the official police facebook page to target people and businesses online. The Skagit County Sheriff's Office recently made headline news as it extorted a locally-owned, law abiding small business that had committed no crime, nor was it suspected of any criminal activity. Sheriff Will Reichardt (who is often confused with an albino gorilla) made it his personal vendetta to publicly out a business that allegedly offended him and hurt his feelings, though broke no laws in the process. The "Sheriff" used a government social media channel and posted in the official capacity of an elected official to target the harassment, bullying, and death threats to this locally owned small business. The harassment continued throughout the state to all similar businesses that aren't affiliated with the business in question but were unfortunate in sharing a similar or identical name. "Sheriff" Reichardt's actions were unprofessional and unbecoming of an elected official. He bullies, intimidates, and extorts those who have a different opinion than his, irrespective of any act wrongdoing on the business' part and a clear and obvious wrongdoing on the "Sheriff's" office. read more

Sheriff Reichardt, you know the guy in charge of the Skagit County Sheriff's Office, took it upon himself to use the official FB page for the department to instigate a retaliatory firestorm from social media against an immigrant small restaurant owner because of a perceived in justice regarding law enforcement officers eating there. He didn't go down and investigate what exactly happened and what was said. He just responded by posting something using the public supported FB page (not his own) to seek retribution against a citizen. Now that restaurant owner has had death threats, harassing phone calls and letters and loss of business. Sheriff Reichardt has acted both recklessly and maliciously by doing this. If you are planning a trip to Washington state or are considering relocating here, do not consider Skagit County, particularly if you're a business owner or immigrant, as long as this man is sheriff. You just don't know what this guy will do if he happens to not like what you do, legal or not. read more

The Skagit County Sheriff's Office's lack of professionalism and responsibility with regard to the Chinese restaurant fiasco of July 2016 earned them this whopping one star review. I wish I could have rated them lower than one star. They posted a derogatory open post on their official Facebook page regarding an alleged incident at a Chinese restaurant that went viral and not only resulted in harassment and death threats to the owners of the restaurant, but also to similarly named or themed Chinese restaurants in Washington state. They also refused to take down the negative post after clearing up the situation. read more
