Rob is a phenomenal (and patient as they come) librarian. The events offered are second to none. There truly is something for everyone. Whether it's stories, songs, crafts and even stuffed animal sleepovers for the younger crowd, video games, movie screenings or manga for the teens or ancestry, gardening or job search skills for adults, this small library has it all. The layout is great too. Everything is accessible and easy to find. Genres are compartmentalized without feeling closed off. My favorite are what used to be called the "Explore" sections. They consist of books from several genres that are put together in displays in two prominent areas. There is always something to pique my interest there that I wouldn't likely have found on the shelves.

I can't even use those computers I have to check out a laptop to work on legal documents. It's gotten that bad and other patrons avoid this area as well. The library is NOT a warming center! Address the situation please!

Despite being a smaller library, it serves as a great pick-up location for items put on hold online. Two self checkout stations make self-service super easy. Hold area is always organized, and I can easily find my holds for a quick checkout. A few areas to sit and work in the teen section, not as much as Marysville library but I've never seen it completely full. Computer use stations I have seen fully occupied however. Staff has always been helpful and polite. Ample parking, including street parking, private lot, and the gravel lot. Inside has always been clean and free of offensive odors. The sidewalk out front is old and uneven, as is the parking lot - most likely from the huge tree roots but if you're watching where you're going, it shouldn't be an issue. Hoping it doesn't cause complications for those needing level ground.

The town has a very nice rustic feel but modern at the same time and what a spectacular view of the water. Oh my gosh. Even driving the road directly after you get off the ferry, it has such great views. I think the town used to be a fort, but don't quote me on that. It's a very very nice town. It does seem to be a town of "more tenured" folks. Also, I think this may be the hub for Island County because there is a jail and some social services for Island Co. there. You can also rent a kayak or canoe and paddle around the area and get spectacular views of the area.
