The park is very accessible so I came to appreciate that as I was able to take the ramps and paths to avoid the stairs. The maps and signage make the park easy to navigate. Parking was also very easy; you can park behind the Cary Library, in the Town Hall Deck, in the parking lot on Charlie Gaddy Lane or in street parking spots. I enjoy the public art while strolling through the park. The cardinals in the play area, the water fountain, the Skywalk, the Gathering House, and just taking in nature. The park offers many options for visitors. It is a nice addition for the community.

I could imagine the trails and parking being developed a bit better, but the space is certainly well worth having as a park and well worth visiting.

The reason I knocked a star off was because I wanted more distance trails and parking is only available near the playground not near the trailheads. Overall, I recommend checking this place out!

As with any unsupervised skate facility there is a lot of graffiti with foul language which isn't good for the younger kids. If you are taking younger children be advised that the teenagers there will curse a lot. Also there will be the smell of pot as these kids are obviously up there smoking a lot. They won't do it out in the open but it's definitely there. When no adults are around there is also some under age drinking evidenced by many beer cans. The county keeps it pretty clean and comes by frequently so it never gets too bad. I definitely wouldn't send kids 12 and under up there alone.

Dog park review: The town of Cary keeps the park clean and up to date. The gate now uses the same digital barcode that the other Cary parks use. The park is more crowded in the morning around 8 am, weekends, and evenings around 4/5 pm. It is less crowded mid-day, after sunset, and on hot or rainy days in case your dog prefers less stimulation. There is a fenced small dog area and larger area for bigger dogs. Overall great place to relax, attend events, tire out your dogs, and spend time with friends and family.

There is a train ride through the park with all sorts of lights and Christmas displays. There are numerous free activities and crafts for kids of all ages. There is even a gorgeous carousel ride that seats many. It doesn't hurt that it is inside so you can warm up from the chilly outside. There is even remote parking with comfy buses that will take you to and from the parking lot and the park. It is a great experience and our grandkids ( and grandparents) have such a great time.
