SK landscaping has been a dream to work with. My husband and I are new homeowners and though we love to be outside, we don't have a green thumb or any idea how to do some of the projects on our wish list. To complicate this slightly more, we are due and expecting this summer. We approached the team in spring with the goal of just having a nice enough yard that was low maintenance, and accepting given our timeline we wouldn't get everything we wanted done. They not only hit everything on our list, but they added and improved everything substantially! Had an appointment scheduled for them to meet at our house to provide a quote for a flagstone pathway and patio. The day of the appointment, they never arrived, and did not respond to emails, calls to the office/cell, or texts. I had rescheduled my work and childcare to be able to meet them for the appointment we had scheduled - extremely unprofessional for them to no call/no show, it takes less than 30 seconds to send an email/text/call to reschedule. read more

First, Steve came to give an estimate (mask on and followed all social distancing procedures, which was awesome). He gave his honest opinion on the columns not to go all the way up so they won't make the yard smaller. He wasn't out there just to finish a job, but he was honest. He looked at what else needed to get done and Kim emailed the estimate and they started the job. With 2-3 guys on the job it was done within 5 days. They left everywhere spotless. I've been with SKLANDSCAPE & Design Inc for 10 years now for weekly yard maintenance work. Recently I asked Steve the owner to help design a Putting Green in my backyard. It came out beautifully and amazing. The workers all had face mask on and worked diligently from start to finish. What I love about the finish course is that it had "movement " not just a flat area. I recently purchased a new home. While I absolutely love it, the backyard is a complete blank slate- nothing but a few trees and lots of dirt. I set out to find a landscaper. First, I have to say how utterly shocked I am in how hard it is to get a landscaper to even respond to my inquiries. I must have reached out to ten companies, got responses of any substance from 4, and was only able to actually get two of them to come out. Of those two, one of them came out, gave me an estimate, and then COMPLETELY flaked after I asked a few follow-up questions. The other was Steve Kinsler from SK landscape. Steve came out within two days. Gave me an estimate within the next day. Has been COMPLETELY responsive to my questions, started work only days after, worked with me regarding the estimate (and got me multiple revisions QUICKLY), and has been an absolute delight to work with thus far. Now, I'll admit that the work is not yet complete, and I will update my review when it is. However, in light of how far and beyond Steve and his company has risen beyond his competition, even at this early stage, they are deserving of a 5 star review. read more

I cannot recommend SK Landscape high enough! My backyard was a disaster. Two beautiful trees, but nothing else. It was sad looking and I was embarrassed to have people over due to the dirt, broken brick patio, etc. Our first appointment was totally comprehensive in providing their estimate to turn our backyard into a useful space for my family. Stephen worked with me over the phone, text, and email to come up with plans for several options and provided images of his design concept. Steve and his crew were great. His design for the backyard was creative and beautiful He was able to incorporate existing brickwork into the new design, enlarging the existing patio area. I now have beautifully sculpted areas of native plants, grass and DG along with a raised garden bed and new patio area with pavers along with a beautiful fountain. Steven and his team are amazing. They replanted all our empty flower beds when we bought our place a few years back. And it turned out great. So when it was time to work on our very oddly shaped backyard with a big slope, Steven was my first call. He came up with a vision to make the most of our yard both aesthetically and functionally. We have spent more time in our yard since he renovated it a couple weeks ago than we usually do in an entire summer! His communication is excellent and his team is efficient, pleasant, and tidy. SK Landscaping will assist in the design of your property's landscaping and execute it so that the outcome is just what you want. I had SK Landscape Design install my backyard planting and irrigation a few years ago at my home in Northridge. They were very professional and reasonable. I shopped around quite a bit and got a few bids. Stephen came out to the house a few times and we decided on a plan - didn't need drawings or anything - just agreed on the look and materials. The installation was great and his team and foreman were easy to work with. I still use them for my weekly maintenance. Had SK Landscape Design do my complete backyard hardscape/softscape and reconfigure my builder-installed frontyard back in 2002. The SFV Santa Ana winds finally took their toll on my builder-installed wooden fence along the side of my house in late Jan 2016. Was looking at replacing with a slumpstone block wall so I never have the issue again and don't need to worry about sealing/staining/painting a wooden fence that gets exposed to our summer heat, high winds, and El Nino threats. Had several contractors bid including SK Landscape Design. Because they did such a great job in 2002, came in with a competitive cost, and both Steven and Victor were still the #1 and #2 guys, I awarded the job to SK. I am pleased to say that I made the right decision! They finished the job on schedule and the wall looks fantastic!
