Meatballs for the People is a restaurant, bar and deli located in the Sodermalm district of…read moreStockholm. They specialize in organic, locally sourced meatballs and have a variety of meats to choose from including deer, veal, chicken, beef, lamb, reindeer, roe deer, moose, etc. Chef's choice (342 SEK = $35.80 USD) - This came which 8 meatballs, 2 of each type. I explained to the server I don't eat pork and they were able to accommodate the chef's choice from other meatballs. They prepared beef, turkey, deer, and roe deer for me. The beef was the juicy and more flavorful of all the meatballs. The turkey was a bit more leaner while the deer meatballs had a little bit of gaminess. A rich and creamy veal gravy is served on top of the meatballs and it was incredibly flavorful and such an addictive combination. Mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickled cucumbers rounded out this incredible dish! Classic (256 SEK = $26.80 USD) - This was like the chef's choice but came with 6 meatballs and one is allowed to choose only 1 type of meatball. Overall, the meatballs here taste incredible! They are a lot smaller than I thought they would be. I'd recommend each person getting at least 8 to 10 meatballs.

It also serves drinks such as beers, wines, ciders, cocktails, and sodas. My husband and I ate one lunch here. I appreciated the employee who saw us looking at a sign outside on the sidewalk and told us about the different flavors. Her customer service convinced us to come in and eat. The flavors of meatballs could be ordered classic (with mashed potatoes, veal gravy, pickled cucumbers, lingonberries, and parsley), with linguine, or with salad. We ordered the classic style for the reindeer and moose flavors. We thought that the reindeer tasted a bit like lamb. My favorite was the moose flavor. My husband said, "The meatballs are good." We also ordered a lingonberry drink, which tasted slightly less strong and stour than cranberry juice. The total price was 647 Swedish Krona or about $65 USD. My husband used the unisex restroom in the basement. He said that it looked clean but had flies.

I had a bowl of the fish stew, which came with a side of cream that was like sour cream. I watched some other gentlemen take a spoonful and put it in their soup and eat it. That fish stew was hearty and delicious. They also serve organic beers here and I had a Stockholm Organic Lager, which tasted like a German Pilsner. It's not a huge place, and when we got there, the tables at ground level were full. They have outside seating, but seeing how this was early January, we didn't want to eat outside, even though it is covered (but still a bit open). They have these "stadium-style" seats with little tables, though, and we climbed up there. They have everything partially made, and when you order, they put it together. There were only two people I could see handling it, but service was great. Some of the best food I ate all trip.

It's a very small place, so a lot of people take their food to go. There are a few tables along the window and then there's stadium seating along one of the smaller walls. It's a cool concept, but it's kind of hard to climb up, especially when you're trying to climb around people. It does provide a good view of the restaurant though. It's fast casual, so you order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The service was pretty fast. The food is incredibly good. We did one of the dishes with meat and the other with vegetarian. We got the sauces they recommended with it. It had so much flavor and tasted very fresh. I would highly recommend coming here while you're in Stockholm. We enjoyed it way more than the places you have to pay the times the price.

Love the extensive vegan/vegetarian meze menu at this Lebanese restaurant, containing a wide…read morevariety of flavours and textures. However the five dishes we shared weren't all very good, the spicy cauliflower had a distinct burnt flavour, the stuffed mini aubergines were very vinegary and quite awful. The interior is VERY dark and despite the restaurant being quite empty when we arrived 5pm-ish we were seated in the darkest inner room, at the smallest table right at the kitchen and the entrance to the inner room were everyone passed by. The pitabread (very dry) was stuffed in a plastic bag in a basket on every table. When the food arrived it was hart near impossible to fit everything on the small table for two. I did however enjoy the patata brava-like dish, the mushroom/onion/garlic, the beetroots and the passionfruit juice. And I'd love to try the other vegan dishes on the menu, and I'd be happy to give a 4 if the next visit will be more overall satisfying.

We ordered 4 plates between us and that was plenty. Highly recommend the hummus (it really is good) but it doesn't come with pita. The fried cheese rolls were really good but super rich so be wary. We ordered the house red wine and it was actually good, also the service was pretty fast and super friendly!! Great option for a low key dinner.
