Any visit I have made have tended to be with family or friends and on all occasions the staff have been pleasent and welcoming when ordering food, which is done by noting your table number and placing your order at the bar. Although I have never been diasppointed there are only 2 complaints - the toilets are upstairs and the portions could be increased to match thoses when it first opened.

We ordered a couple of beers (maybe just slightly pricier than average but not by much) and headed upstairs for a few rounds of pool. They have both American and British tables available. There's a £10 deposit to pay and then you pay by the hour for your time using the table, I think it was £5 an hour. I got beaten for 3 out of the 3 games that we played and while I'd like to blame Sportsters for that, I probably can't. During our games there was a little live music - a guy with a guitar was playing a few soft rock classics and he wasn't bad. It's perhaps a slightly odd thing to have in a sports bar but I thought it was a nice touch.

You will find the place generally filled with families and pensioners but this is hardly surprising given the budget busting price and with one visit to the Carvery for meat but as many visits for veggies you simply cannot go wrong if you need to feed. Although I have yet to make a return visit for veggies given the amount you can pile on during the first visit. This is definetly an alternative to McDonald/Burger King/KFC for a family where you could spend as much as £20 on a visit and it has health benefits of a good 'home' cooked meal.

The service was a little disjointed (meals turned up without sausages and haggis which then showed a few mins later), but the gent was charming enough to be forgiven. They also have a sign stating that they serve their coffee at 60 degrees, and when you taste their cappuccino you can see why. This is the best coffee I have had in Dennistoun. The decor is pleasant, though there is some slightly questionable art (sorry to whoever the artist is) and the staff were very friendly. Definitely worth popping in if you are in the neighbourhood.
