My girlfriend and I hired a car through sixt Bromley after getting quoted £30 per day. On top of this we purchased the extra insurance for a further £28. When we turned up to pick up the car the car was covered in scratches that were not documented. The receptionist said there was a further £120 deposit that would be refunded when we returned the car. We returned the car after having no problems however no funds were refunded. We asked why this was the case and the manage nonchalantly said that £120 was actually for an under 25 driver fee as well as extra insurance for the said driver. We said this was not what we were told initially however the manager rudely said there was nothing he could do. In short, I'd recommend you rent somewhere else, Uber, or bloody well walk rather than use these people. Shocking rental service. The day I rented, it was pouring with rain, just buckets and buckets. The staff member did a 15 sec walk around the car, which was useless as all you could see was rain bouncing off. He told me to "have a look when the sun comes out and take photos of any damage." I drove it for a total of 21miles in 1.5 days and the only time the rain stopped and the sun came out was when I returned the vehicle. Upon return, there was a thorough inspection, of course. And behold, a scrape on the passenger wing mirror. All was documented. I protested, that in my 1.5 days and 21 miles driving, this didn't happen and was likely to have happened prior to my rental. I was sent a damage claim a few weeks later, which I rejected detailing fully the reason why. Then I was sent a final invoice saying that after careful consideration, I was indeed at fault. The claim was more than the rental. If you use these guys, I'd recommend budgeting for more than double the anticipated cost, just in case you magically get some damage to the vehicle too. read more

This internet service looks inferior to Yell's. The high scoring reviews are over 6 years old. On other sites c2014 shows a massive drop in standards from being a great company to being a very very very poor company. I rented from this location 10 years ago and it wasn't then sixt branded, so have they bought the good reviews as well as the location? @2017: Avoid like the plague, else high probability of catching something nasty ! This hire ended with 2 staff chasing me down the street shouting & threatening police-I wish i'd called the police myself! We hired the car for 3 days camping. We arrived exhausted from Devon via the M25 a little later than planned. Rather than phone, I called in in person @17:50 10 minutes inside the contract period as courtesy to arrange extra time to get the 4 passengers and equipment home. They needed the car returned for a next day hire (fair enough) so I said I could get it to them by 8:00am cleaned etc. They demanded a full days' payment so i said fine, on that basis i'll see you at 6pm tomorrow & returned to the car. They ran down the street, threatening to report it stolen, & told us if we all got out the contract would be over. So we 4 were left outside napier road with tents etc on the pavement. Thankfully Cannon cabs sent us a transit taxi to get us all home, and now waiting to see all the extra charges they pile on in line with what i've seen from other RECENT reviews on other sites. This Sixt is a 5 star service. They offer customer pickup within 5 miles but unfortunately I was 8.1 miles away. There is no parking there for your own car but as I had no choice to drive to the site to collect the van I was renting, they showed me where I could park for free if I were to return the van before noon the next day. I was lucky as there was one spot I could squeeze my MPV into. One of the friendly workers even moved a car forward for me to give me space to park. I decided to rent Sixt because the online rate was only £29.95 for the day unlimited mileage. I booked and reserved the van online. The van was clean throughout including the back where I was to transport a cream coloured corner sofa. The sofa fit in with plenty of room and no marks were transferred to it due to the clean interior. The only surprise I had was that I found out I had to pay a deposit as I was paying with a debit card. I wasn't given this information online and luckily I had the deposit available in my account. The man behind the counter even reduced the deposit for me by waiving the fuel deposit. The deposit was returned to my account in full as I returned the van with a full tank of diesel. Sixt Bromley is highly recommended. I would definitely do business with them again should I need to rent another vehicle. read more

This was my first rental from Sixt (after my usual agency closed its local office). I was pleased with the price and convenience of the rental. We were upgraded to a larger car. I asked for help with connecting my iPod and the staff were very patient to get it all set up before I left. I will definitely rent from Sixt again. read more

Top marks to Sixt in Bromley. We rented a car last week and couldn't have been happier with the service. They picked us up at short notice. The car was in superb condition unlike my experiences with some other companies in the past. The staff at Bromley couldn't have been more helpful.
