I needed a car for a week and after constant looking, searching and comparing prices it seemed Sixt offered the best deal for me. I booked a VW Golf or similar which on the website could have also been a Vauxhall Astra or Ford Focus. Because I was going to do a lot of miles over the week I decided to pay a bit more and opt for an automatic. However on the day off the pick up I went there and I was offered either a manual Golf estate or a manual Skoda Octavia, definitely not something I (21 y.o) wants to be driving. I also explained to the manager that I had booked an automatic car however he disagreed and said on the system it was showing I had booked a manual although I had paid extra already. I didn't make a fuss because I really needed a car so I decided to pay MORE money for an automatic Octavia. Then the man persuaded me to to purchase the tyre and wind screen insurance. By this point my dad (he gave me a lift to the pick up location) was furious because off all the money I was having to spend and my dad pointed out that other companies include that insurance and even the manager agreed. So in total I pay almost £300 for a car I didn't expect. Nevertheless on returning the car the same manager (hes not a nice guy and I don't have any respect for him due to his consistent big headed attitude) pointed out a paint chip on the rear bumper (no bigger than an inch. He constantly accused me off hitting the car even though it had rear sensors although I didn't however I accept I was responsible for the car. A few days later I receive a fine of just under £400!!! Realistically that chip that size should not have even exceeded £100! A main dealer could easily have fixed that for probably £50. just stick to enterprise. I learnt my lesson the hard way and the whole experience cost me almost £1000 for something I didn't want or do. Even before I rented the car I read reviews on Sixt and most of them were bad however I took a risk. Hopefully people will not make the same mistake I did. I could go on forever read more
