Just back from Bristol. Staying in Clayton hotel, the hotel recommended this company Yellow Cabs,…read more The driver told us before getting in cab we could pay by card or cash, when we arrived at destination he charged us £75 and would only accept cash. We were astonished by the price and queried the cost, there was no clock used, he advised it was the company cost but on our return if we ring him on his personal number he would do it for £60. We book uber to return for £24!!!. We advised the hotel and contacted Yellow Cabs. They said they would investigate with driver and get back to us. They did not get back to us at all over the 2 days, we kept ringing them to follow up but they just kept fobbing us off. Please BEWARE of using this taxi firm

It's great to have a taxi firm that is truely 24 hours. Also for thier office to be so noticable…read moreand accessable. Depending on how personal you want to be, you can either ring for a taxi, or go into the HQ located right on the top of the bedminster High street (Near the Library) and ask directley for a booking. The price is very reasonable, and the drivers (in my experience anyway) are very friendly and helpful. You can gat a price estimate if you ask for one if your journey is that little bit longer (which always helps so your not left short of cash when you reach your destination... which is never a good thing!) If you do hit bedminster shopping I would recommend staring at the bottom of the high street, work your way to the top, then pop into Yello Cab and bish-bash-bosh your home! Also because they are called Yellow Cab, I like to imagine that when I book them i'm in america, hailing a yellow cab, and I can assure you, for a few seconds the illusion is quite real!

The other reviewers on here have summed up city car club, what it is and how it works, so I won't…read morecover that again. So..hi..I'm Richard, I've been a member of the club for over a year and i've found it fantastic for short to medium hires. Calling it a 'club' is a winning tactic it makes you feel like you're a member of some secret society. Anyway, I digress, i've used city cars for everything from the odd trip to IKEA, or to the supermarket to get a 24 pack of beers home, to hiring the vans to move house. I've also booked cars for 24 hours on a couple of occasions for a wedding and a day trip. I won't go into costs as they're likely to change, so you can do that yourself by looking at their website. But for anything longer than 24 hours using normal car hire tends to work out cheaper. I pay an extra £5 a month to bring the insurance excess down to £100. Which means that if I were to damage a car (which so far I haven't) then I won't be forking out hundreds. For me it takes some of the worry out of negotiating Bristol's congested streets. Now if you're anything like me (a bit of a car fan) then you'll like the fact that you've got the opportunity to 'test drive' a whole bunch of different cars. You're not going to find an Alfa Romeo 8c on the list, but i've had fun whizzing around in the brand new fiestas and experiencing the strange silent gliding sensation of a Hybrid Prius as it accelerates. I have no hesitation in giving city car club the thumbs up. Friendly customer services too. Had to call late at night once 'cause I couldn't get the key to turn in the ignition; steering lock was on..duh!

Have you heard of these guys? No? Well if you are old enough, have qualified and have been so for…read moreat least two years then you will be eligible to drive a car from the City Car Club. With locations throughout the city, I was able to try out the car situated on Chessel Street with my firends who live just minutes around the corner. This business idea is great. All you have to do is register line and they send you a card. This card then unlocks any of their cars and lets you in where you wil fin the keys and you can drive off, anywhere you want for £5 an hour - including insuarance. You have to pay extra per mile, but if you need it for a little run about to the shops and back and can't afford all the exspense of having your own car then this really is the next best thing!! Its brill!
