There was an American fast food restaurant located close by, but as we were walking towards it, I got waylaid by a sign for Maison Jin, promising to serve a mix of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean food. It looked very modern, and most importantly, it was very spacious inside with plenty of space to put our luggage while we ate. We were greeted warmly by one of the hostesses. She mentioned there were three people working, and between the three of them, they could communicate to customers in French, English, Chinese, or Japanese. What a team! That immediately put a smile to my face. We took the laminated menus back to our self-chosen table and chose. I've been really craving some sort of sushi, so ordered their 15 piece maki set (12,9€). It is already pre-made, just like a grocery store in the states, and came with packets of soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger. It wasn't great (between edible and OK), but for that price point, so complaints. And it did satisfy the need for vinegared rice that I've had for about 3 weeks now. My wife ordered something called porc caramel (12,9€). It's basically a rice bowl with deep fried pork chunks (like you would use for sweet and sour pork), topped with a sesame sauce. Basically General Tso's pork. It was served extremely hot which we appreciated, and the steamed rice was very good. I saw a can of Coke Zero (called Coca Cola sans sucre) for 2,5€. I also asked for tap water, and they were nice to provide a water glass bottle with two cups. It's a nice, unusual touch for a fast food place. It's fast food, in a touristy area and the taste is similar to what you would get at an Asian spot in a food court. But that's OK, because that is what it is advertised as...and the prices reflect that. If you need to satisfy your Asian food craving after a long trip into the Nice train station, Maison Jin hits the spot.

The young couple running the place are really friendly, welcoming and patient and will go the extra mile to explain the menu and how they cook the different dishes. We can feel how passionate they are about the food they cook. If sushi is not your thing we were really impressed by the flavors of the Pho and the mi-cha (sautéed noodles) was also outstanding and not greasy at all.
