I love candles and I have been coming to this store in Amsterdam for a couple of years now. The…read morestore is located in the Magna Plaza, a gorgeous and majestic building near the Palace. It's very convenient for me as I normally stay at a hotel close by. The bright and airy shop has an amazing display of Woodwick and Yankee candles at great prices as well as very helpful, attentive and knowledgeable sales staff. On my first visit I bought three candles. The first was a Yankee candle - Macaron Treats. This reminds me of sweets I used to get as a child. The second was a Woodwick candle - Pear Cider. The sales assistant suggested that I tried one of these candles as something a little bit different and unusual. I was hooked! The third one was also a Woodwick candle - Wild Berry Trilogy. I chose this one because I loved the over-riding strawberry scent and the lovely pink shades. On my second visit I also bought three candles, all Woodwick. The first one was Sea Salt Caramel. I had a beautifully scented room for hours! The second one was the Cafe Sweets Trilogy, which is amazing as the trilogy scent changes, and the third one was the Fruits of Summer Trilogy, which is like summer in a jar. I would recommend this store to anyone who is into their candles. I am sure I will be back again soon.

Thy completely ruined my watch! I brought to them a vintage 18k Omega from 1952 because it began to…read morerun slow. Because I had the watch for approximately 3,5 years they concluded that it had to be serviced and cleaned so I let them do it. Apart from a few surface-scratches and a small dent in the backplate, it was completely flawless as if it has only been worn on a few occasions. But although I did not specifically asked for it, they also decided to polish the case. They polished it to a point where no edge was crisp anymore but slightly rounded. They also decided to redo the metal brush on the backplate, but because of the small dent, this completely failed. It now looks as if some kid scratched it on a piece of sanding paper. They also polished the crown to a point where the gold plating just fell of, so it had to be replaced by a new one which has a slightly different shade of gold. They told me that the touchup of the cabinet was described on the offer and that it is standard on all the watches they receive and I had to specifically ask them not to do it. They claim to be experts in vintage watches, but I simply can not understand that you just put a steel brush on any watch that you receive. Absolutely unacceptable!

Most Hema's are large and very open space but this one takes it a step further. Doors in the front and back are a nice feature as well...plus with better ventilation. Hot food and drinks. Lots of wine and beer (to go) too! What's not to like. They had every kind of stroopwafel I didn't even know existed! Lots of candies and cakes too. Lekker! They do have everything from bike parts to socks as well. Of course things are a bit different during Corona times, but let's hope Hema keeps these big stores in expensive areas open. Worth checking out when you're right in the center and a 10 minute walk from the train station (through the mall).

This particular emerald has such a great color- showing up differently in so many lights. The woman in the shop was extremely helpful & kind, letting me try on several rings & earrings before coming to my decision-- never pushy or salesy. There were several more pieces I loved but this ring was in the budget of what I was wanting to spend & for my finger perfectly.

A small narrow building which is crowded with customers every hour of the day. In all these years they did not change anything of the interior and that makes this very full store very approachable. But don't be mistaken, a group of 36 people work here in a very close team and most of them with a long record of service. Their hospitality is enormous and their knowledge of affairs superb. You can really find anything you are looking for. They sell antique as well as modern jewels, table silver, little gems to precious pieces. It is also possible to sell your unwanted jewelry to them or have them make a new piece out of it, because they have an in house team of designers and goldsmiths. In short, a concept in Amsterdam, but also far out.

They didn't communicate between each other at the shop and would tell me diff stories on the progress and why . I confronted them about this being racially motivated because i cannot imagine any of their rich local white customers ever returning if they recieved the service and deceit i experienced. I spent 1000's and wish i hadn't, the earrings are tarnished now to me.
