I am quite pleased with the Doctors and staff at SC. I do wish there was a more receptive attitude…read morefor medical marijuana. I am 75 years old and not looking for any mind altering experience, but I do qualify as I have RA, and a number of other painful nerve and spinal problems. Pain medication in pill form make me sick to my stomach and I desperately need an alternative. Any rule has exceptions ( Doctors are told not to sign forms qualifying patients conditions for these products) but so far I haven't made the grade. My requests have brought a resounding "NO"! Please consider patients on a more case to case basis. The need is stronger than SC's resolve to keep it out of my reach. Janet A Edwards

I was planning to commit suicide because I was in so much pain due to a hyperparathyroid issue and my brain chemistry being utterly destroyed by this negligent BRO doctor. My sister also became addicted to Adderall which is really common, also almost committed suicide. The office workers are just trying to make it and it's not their fault Springfield Clinic only cares about making money. They hire and fire regularly so they can pay people less. Do not go here. I have been using OCI for a number of years for a number of procedures by several different…read morepractitioners: 1 hip arthroscopy, bilateral hip replacement, bilateral knee arthroscopies with meniscus resection. All of these procedures went very well. In addition I have had back, neck, and upper extremity evaluations and procedures that I was quite satisfied with. I appreciate the drop-in, acute care service they also provide and I have taken advantage of. Every practitioner has been pleasant and competent, able to explain and answer questions. The various staff have always been friendly and efficient. In my late 70's they have helped me be very active and mobile. Thank you!

Well let me start off saying if I could give them a ZERO star i would but it would not let me do…read morethat. OCI in Springfield, IL is the most unprofessional place I have ever been to! First off my son had to come there per his primary doctor referral in which he didn't want to go back there since he was treated so poorly by another doctor there at the facility in which he is not longer at OCI. But his primary doctor said give it a try so he did, at the beginning everything was good his doctor was nice explained everything to him regarding his results and the next steps which was surgery. The doctor said for him to bring in a family member to go over and ask any questions that were needed to make sure this surgery was the right choice being made. So this is where things took a turn, I went with my son to meet with DR. Graves, during our visit I had a list of questions to ask since my son is in his 20's he wasn't sure of everything to ask as this was a very serious spine surgery. Dr. Graves was very unprofessional was on his cell phone during our appointment and was in a rush to get us out of his office so not all questions were answered. So the next appointment was the Pre-Op appointment so I went with him to that one as well hoping maybe the rest of our questions will be answered. We were not even in the office for 5 minutes after waiting over an hour to be seen. Dr. Graves opens the room door as we are still talking walking out of the room while I'm still talking and says see you Friday for surgery. I told my son he shouldn't go through with this surgery, but he was in so much pain he couldn't wait. Friday comes we are in the pre- surgery room waiting everything was going as planned the nurses and hospital staff were very nice and helpful. Anesthesiologist comes in and answers any questions we have and was very nice. Then Dr. Graves nurse practitioner comes in to talk to us and we mentioned we had TWO questions before the surgery that were not answered by Dr. Graves since he was too busy on his phone and walking out of the room during our two office visits. So she says that she was going to get his chart and will bring Dr. Graves in as well. For one we did not need to see his scans again it was TWO questions to be answered. So with that being said she never returned, the hospital nurse came in saying that the surgery will be about 12pm before when it was scheduled for 10:00am-10:30am, okay fine understandable. Then they come back in another hour later saying their was an inpatient that got pushed ahead of my son. It is now after 11am and the nurse said that his surgery will not be for another 3 hours! So by that time we were getting a little upset, then Dr. Graves comes in the room to talk to us about an hour later. We said we had two questions that we had before the surgery, this doctor already cancelled the surgery before he even came in the room. He was very arrogant and wouldn't let us talk and gave us two options he would send us to another surgeon or cancel the surgery. Once he walked out of the hospital room he tried to tell the nurse that the patient cancelled the surgery, in which my mother heard this and made sure that was not the case and made sure it was noted that the SURGEON cancelled not the patient, we also made it clear with the Charge nurse so his insurance will not be billed for something that the doctor cancelled! This was all over because we had TWO questions to ask regarding the surgery and he didn't like that we were questioning him. Along with we called him out for being very unprofessional when we were their in his office that if he wasn't on his phone and would have answered our questions before it wouldn't be an issue. Dr. Graves said we were hesitant to do the surgery and then he said he was hesitant, if you are hesitant to do the surgery why even schedule it! The whole situation escalated and it was the worse experience and we have never been treated so disrespectful by a Doctor! We had spoken with an advocate their at the hospital and filed a complaint, as well as we spoke with the advocate at OCI. The advocate at OCI took this very lightly and by talking to her Dr. Graves will just get away with no consequences with him being very unprofessional as a doctor. Dr. Graves then had the nerve to LIE on my sons' chart saying he apologized profusely to us not once did he apologize! Saying the patient cancelled the surgery, when he was the one that cancelled the surgery. That we were irate in the hospital if we were so irate why was the hospital staff apologizing to us as they said they have never seen a DOCTOR cancel and treat a patient the DR. GRAVES DID! I DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER GOING TO OCI OR TO DR. GRAVES AS THE DOCTORS THEIR ARE THE MOST INCOMPETENT DOCTORS I HAVE EVER MET!
