Very good food and nice staff! We eat there almost 2 times a month. Chicken madras is my favorite and also the bindhi baji!

Wanted to try some Indian food in Barcelona and glad we came across this place…read more Very lovely aesthetic on the inside and they even Serve the food in those metal plates which was nice. Portion size itself was fairly decent and I'm glad we ordered just the right amount of food for the group. The Chicken Dal (chicken dhansak I think they called it) was very unique! First time I've had a dish that was chicken and dal together and it was really nice. First time I've had a dish that was chicken and all together and it was really nice especially with the jeera rice! Brother ordered the Butter Chicken and it was very flavorful as well. Loved the Chicken Tikka too! Lamb Rogan Josh actually came quite salty! Like it was unbelievably saw me so we told the server and they were quick to replace it. Even got us an extra dessert to make up at the end. Pudina Paratha was also quite nice! Flaky and just the right amount of flavor in there. Got the Gulab Jamun For dessert and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. I usually feel they end up getting too sugary sweet but this was perfect! They brought us one on the house and now that we had two on the table one of them was notably different from the other. I think it was just that it was extremely hot! Like you actually had to blow on it and it would have burned your mouth if you didn't do that first. Overall very delicious!

Swad-The Indian Restaurant is a cute little restaurant near the Glories section of Barcelona,…read moreSpain. I arrived right at opening time this Sunday evening and was the first to enter the restaurant. Because I am a serious restaurant reviewer I always try and get good pictures and video for my reviews. No one was in the restaurant so I asked if I could take some video and the girl behind the counter said that I "could not take any video, only photos" which I thought was strange as no one was there, and the restaurant looked pristine and perfect. That seemed very strange, especially for a business that could only benefit from other people seeing the inside. I ordered a starter of dal and garlic and cheese naan bread that I specifically asked to come out before my main course of biryani shrimp. They obviously wanted to get my out of the restaurant quickly, so they brought everything out at the same time. The apology felt insincere. The dal, which is lentil beans basically, was very tasty in a rich dark sauce. It went well with the garlic and cheese naan. The shrimp biryani was just ok. You had to get to the bottom of the small bowl to get more to the flavorful part. For dessert I ordered the rice pudding. It was really good with what I think was pistachio crumbs on top. The meal was descent, but the service and the feeling I got from the staff left me with a strange feeling that detracted from the meal. I felt like an unwelcome visitor! I would have rated the food with 4 stars but when I factor the service that I got, unfortunately I have to rate this restaurant with 3 stars. Although I am in Barcelona frequently, I will not go back to this restaurant.

If neither sounds great, there's always Indian food. Reviews aren't plentiful but they look promising for Swad. Pictures and prices didn't look insane. The place looked pretty promising. I went roughly an hour before close one night, and it was fairly standard European service. I ordered a lamb roganjosh, rice, garlic naan, and pineapple juice. I recommend requesting that they don't pour your juice into a glass if you want juice. The ice melted very quickly. I enjoyed my meal immensely. The lamb had incredible flavor. The naan was cooked perfectly, and the rice was rice. Sadly, this restaurant has the audacity to charge €3.20 for that rice. €3.20 for maybe €0.32 worth of rice! Yes, I know that pulao is fancy schmancy Indian rice with various flavors from its cook style but come on... €3.20 would maybe be an appropriate charge for a side of biryani. I liked my meal a lot. It's possibly going to end up my best meal in Barcelona unless I drunkenly stumble into a Michelin star place and spend all of my money. All of that said, this is a tough 3 stars for me because €3.20 for rice is just exploitative.
