First a few disclaimers; I am new to the area, I don't leave a lot of reviews, and I love my dog more than anything. All of that being said, I had some good recommendations for Sister's Grooming so I decided to drop in one day and check it out. The shop is clean and cute. The grooming area seemed clean but small. I chatted with the owner, Janette, for at least twenty minutes. I brought my dog in and my grandson was with me. I told her I was weary as my dog is really shy around strangers and has only been groomed two previous times. She assured me it would be fine. I made an appointment for 10am a few days later. The day of my appointment I show up a little before 10am and the first thing that shook me a little was that she had no memory of me. I'm not implying that I am so great she should remember me, but we had a lengthy conversation and I was just surprised. I ask her what time she thinks she will be done and she says 3-4pm as there were many appointments ahead of mine. I asked if they could just call me when they were ready for me because I knew that all those barking dogs and that tiny cage would upset my spoiled baby! She told me my dog would be fine but sure I could bring her back at noon. So I took her back at noon. She asked how I wanted her hair cut. She is a Chorkie but looks mostly like a yorkie. Her hair was just a little too long and I wanted her face cleaned up so I could see her eyes but not to take away the yorkie features. When I picked her up I 100% did not recognize her. She cut ALL of her facial hair, all her ears, and her entire body. Except she didn't trim the hair around her nails, and she looked very choppy and had long hairs here and there. It was awful. I paid and left, not saying anything because she can't bring her hair back. When I got home I got the scissors out to clean it up a little bit and to my dismay I found a pretty decent gouge out of her leg at the joint. Now, I understand mistakes happen but not telling the customer is not acceptable. I would not have left this review had it not been for that! I'm traumatized and I don't think I'll ever take her anywhere again. I hope this review saves somebody else from a bad experience. read more

Love sister's grooming! They are always friendly and kind and wonderful to my dogs! I have standard poodles which I know are on the more difficult side to groom and they always come out amazing. I took my newest puppy in for her first little trim and they were patient with her. She came out looking fantastic and was happy. It was a great first experience! read more

I've left a review on google ad well. I've never been so disappointed in a company. This groomer, either shaved my dogs groin and undercarriage with dirty clippers or gave him extreme razor burn. Even on his genitals. He takes RX prescribed drops for gleas and heartworm but I got him back covered in fleas. I tried calling as soon as I left the place because I was in a hurry and nobody would answer . I was quoted 100 or 125 if he was matted,....I brushed him like I always do, not leaving matted hair, and instead I was charged 150 and told he was badly matted like I was some rookie. I've had bouviers. He's not my first and I've paid extreme close observation on him. He's my son in other words. To change a quote at such a degree, knowing the effort I out in the oght before because I couldn't afford to pay that much and still tip, but to only have them say, "we don't have fleas here. Even after telling them that I noticed it as soon as I left and I was taking pictures, and that they could see on caller ID when I called, they still insisted it was my yard or my house,....wow, I hadn't even gotten home. When I got home is when I observed the butcher job they did underneath. There's a bald spot under is left front leg and the Knicks and raw areas under his groin. Even applying a topical ointment my little guy was whimpering. I'm completely disappointed in their attempt to retain a new customer and the gall to charge me double the extra fee under claims he was matted. The whole family watched me brush him amd remove what could be considered matted, for hours. I do not recommend this company, and will gladly let anyone know what kind of job they did and their professional ethic they carry. Oh and did I mention that besides the fleas, his paws were not even completely cut nor were his nails trimmed. Not even a simple attempt to retain a customer. As a business owner myself, these are not people to do business with. If 165 dollars for a shaving and a poor attempt at a bouvier facial cut is that much needed to continue business, good luck without my help every two to three months. Took my Pomeranian, Fred, here to be groomed today and am very pleased with the results. I called yesterday and was a brand new customer but was able to get in today - yay! The woman I spoke to was very patient and answered all of my many questions relating to their practices, which I greatly appreciated. The shop is nice and clean. They have pet clothes and some dog decor (figurines) for sale among other items. There is a door separating the shop front from the grooming area in the back. I was able to see the kennels where Fred was to be kept while waiting for his turn. I prefer this to my dog being left out of a kennel while he waits for his turn. I just think it is safer. The kennels look kind of like what you see at a pet store - they have, what looks to be, plexiglass backing so you can see your dog from the counter. It's nice to be able to see what situation your dog is going into. The grooming area looked nice and clean. Nice and bright. I dropped Fred off at noon, filled out a bit of paperwork, then was given an estimated timeframe of two to three hours. I was able to pick Fred up 3.5 hours later, and he looked great! For $45 they bathed him, brushed him, trimmed/shaped his hair, handled his anal glands, cut his nails, cleaned his ears, and I believe they brushed his teeth. Fred looks great! He seemed to be in a good mood when I picked him up, too=) These ladies are very nice. They are thoughtful and conscientious. I got the impression that they take a great deal of pride in their business. I would not hesitate one bit to take my baby back =) read more

I brought in my dog for a hair cut and nail trim. She looked good after, but they were supposed to trim her hair down to 1/2 inch, but ended up at 1 1/2 inches. Plus they are very pricey. $85 for trim, nails and grind seems a bit excessive. I am used to paying closer to $50. We won't be going back. read more

This situation happened about 2 years ago but I've finally realized they need to be aware of what they did. At the time my sister took two of our dogs to this groomer we have in the past and had no problems. One dog is a yokriepoo who has always gone to this place even before when it was a pet shop and groomer. Our other dog is a Havanese mix and has been groomed here before. Note the havanese mix is a little more aggressive towards other strangers. When I picked them up from the groomers I knew something was wrong with one of them. The havanese had a HORRIBLE razor burn on his butt. He wouldn't let anyone near him. Then. He started peeing blood. BLOOD! He was peeing pools of blood. He whined non stop. We immediately took him to the vet and they had no explanation but maybe a kidney stone. I don't believe it. I believe the older lady's that run this place hit and abused my dog. I believe they did something to him because he was more aggressive to punish him. He's never once had any problems with kidney stones or any type of medical problems. At the time the dogs were in my sisters care but now are mine. It may have happened two years ago but someone needs to hear my story. read more
