The lady who took our order initially was having a bad day as I asked her how her day was and she said this is not a good day. This place is in need of some serious leadership. The leadership here isn't doing anything to further the goal of this establishment. I left because I was afraid to even eat the food they were preparing. Lastly, I must be in a Time Machine because I wanted to see what my receipt said of the time and it mysteriously was an hour ahead.

It was a rich taste because of the chorizo, and very flavorful. My husband LOVED the hand battered steak fingers with mashed potatoes. I topped it off with the Angel Delight Chocolate Lover ice cream waffle bowl. While this place is terrible for my waistline, it was good food and worth the drive. I'll probably try the steak fingers next time. My husband says he's coming back for a 1/2 lb burger!

*** super cute, brand new ice cream & candy shop in Hobbs ***…read more What's the Scoop Ice Cream Shop is a brand new more than just ice cream located in the plaza near Albertson's Market. They also have homemade fudge, candy, gourmet candy apples, and chocolate-covered confections. It's a tight fit inside, so there isn't space to eat your frozen treat. Best plan to get it on the run! If I'm not mistaken, this is Hobbs' first chocolatier. They had so many delightful chocolate covered items - from nuts to jalapenos. My daughters were dying to try ice cream and stuck to their flavors. The youngest had two scoops in a cup of Krazy Kolors. Bold colors of red, blue, and yellow, but it tasted like plain vanilla to me. Lol. The oldest had two scoops of Cookie Two Step, which was chocolate chip cookie dough. Very cream. Large chunks of chocolate. The decent-sized cold mounds were served in small plastic ball caps both for $12.14. I've never seen the ice cream flavor "banana puddin'" so I'm definitely trying that next time! Cash or cards accepted. SUGGESTION TO OWNER Please post prices. TIP Closed Monday. They offer samples which is nice because I've seen flavors in the grocery store but hadn't tried them. Realizing it was store ice cream was a little of a letdown, especially when we got the bill. We got three single scoop cones with one topping each and our total was $23 without the tip. If they had an experience type of environment that price would be worth it but there is no indoor seating. When we went it was about 95 degrees so sitting outside wasn't an option. I wish they had a cute set up inside, some seating inside. Then it would be a whole experience and the price tag would be worth it. They do have lots of wild ice cream towers but they started at around $13 so that could have gotten pricey. This has great potential but needs to bulk up the overall experience. I'd love a fun place to take visiting friends but this isn't it.

There is only one parking space that provides covered parking right in front and we got lucky and got to park there.. I ordered the hand-breaded steak fingers and my lunch partner ordered the chicken tenders. The steak fingers were excellent, about as good as mom makes assuming your mom is a great cook! My friend couldn't quite finish hers and handed me a chicken tender, which was huge! The breading was perhaps a bit too heavy, and the chicken itself was probably cooked a little bit longer than ideal, and was resultantly dry - but it was still tasty. Before I ordered, I asked whether the fries were frozen or not, and she assured me that everything they make is from scratch and that the fries are hand-punched on-site from actual raw potatoes--and wow--the french fries here are really good-- a bit on the soggy or soft side, but I prefer this than for them to be overcooked and get too much moisture cooked out of them which can result in a tough and leathery texture. In any event, I really enjoyed the fries. We arrived a little bit after their 11 AM opening and halfway through our meal there, a line started to form at the walk up window as well as the drive-through, a testing to their food's quality. I can't wait to go back to try out the hamburgers and super dogs!
