Interior design is not very cozy
Eva F.

Café Sirap is decent but not great. The food is really good, but pricey. Go here if you want to spend money on eating great greasy food. However, the service is not very good (usually very slow), the interior is not very nice, feels like a school dining hall, and you do not want to stay for too long because there are always people waiting for tables. However, big ups for the food!

Good: Food was great and came out quick. Free coffee refills. Really reminded me of breakfast in the US. Bad: The queue was quite long. Loud and cramped.

I've had Swedish food once since I moved to Stockholm. For the most part, my diet has been monopolized by Thai, Italian, Japanese, coffee, pasta salad. So you could imagine my excitement when I was going to eat pancakes!!! Oh wait. They're American. American food. Never had it. Wonder if it's good. Just kidding. I AM AMERICAN!!! AND I LOVE PANCAKES!!! AAAAAAHHHHHH SO HAPPY! NOM NOM NOM! So a co-worker suggested we all go out for Amerikan Pancakes Breakfast (she's Dutch and that's how she talks). A group of about 12 of us went and we indulged in the experience that is Swedish pancakes in Stockholm. Ready for this? They were BETTER than American ones!!! They were richer, more buttery pancakes. They were smaller in size, so you didn't feel like it was a massive American portion that sent you spiraling into a food coma. They were more cooked than American pancakes so they had that nice greasy crust around the edges that I love when I make my own pancakes. They served their pancakes with a plethora of toppings that you could choose from, from apples, to blueberries, to BACON!!! They also cooked some ingredients right into the pancakes. If you don't like pancakes they have a wide range of other American breakfast food. A great breakfast place to go to and packed on weekends. Even with a reservation, the hostess overbooked and we were forced to wait about a half-hour. So just be prepared.

American pancakes are a bit of a misnomer, but they are closest to that style than the european ones you usually see.

The pain au chocolat was also excellent: crisp layers with just the right amount of dark chocolate. Coffee was smooth and rich, and refills on brewed coffee are free. The café has a relaxed vibe, and even though it was busy, the service was quick and friendly. Prices are a bit high, but worth it for the quality. Recommend if you're looking for a great coffee and pastry spot, convenient to city center. Outdoor seating if you're lucky enough to land a spot. If not, there's a nice park across the way, if you order take away.

Although the passageway where the interior seating is situated seemed awkward it actually worked out well. Service, despite a crowd, was fairly quick, I would rate the coffee an A or 9/10 on the scale of strength, low acidity/smoothness. It is espresso based and made to exact order. There are serval options for milk (whole, oat, 1/2 and 1/2, etc). The major complaint would be that there is no easy place to throw away your rubbish, nor is there a place that is clearly evident to bust your dishes, which is much needed given that this is a super busy place.. The staff is too busy to bus tables regularly, which backs up the availability of seating . This is the major reason for a one star deduction.. TIP: You can buy beans or ground coffee for home brewing.

This is the type of place you order then sit down, and they will bring your food out to you. We went around 10am on a Saturday and were almost the only people there. Our cashier/server was super friendly and helpful, and I suspected he was also cooking the food - which was downright excellent! They have a lot of variety, we got the avocado Benedict and scrambled eggs, with a bloody and orange juice. The Bloody Mary with SO GOOD, spicy and delicious. The Benedict hollandaise sauce was classic, the egg was perfectly poached, and the scrambled eggs were super flavorful and fluffy. The ambiance was also very cute and made for a great insta post!

My friends and I arrived around 11am on a Sunday and it was moderately busy. We were helped right away. I ordered the Truffle egg sandwich along with a cappuccino and it came out fairly quickly. It's served with root chips which were delicious! The cooking station is near the front so you can see all the action while they are making your food. The inside decor is super cute and modern, love all the pink and fun art on the wall. This restaurant is really delicious, I highly recommend especially if you love breakfast all day as much as I do! *When you go into the restroom they play standup comedy which I thought was awesome!
