A daytime bar for uni students, on campus, where the beer is cold and the drinks are cheap. That's sure to succeed, right?
Well, it should. The problem (as was found a few years ago) was that when a bar is run by a student association, certain things can go wrong and it is forced to close (the year before I started uni). The plus side of this, though, is that when it reopened with a new fit-out, new plan, new name and a whole new set of clientele (ok, so when a new bar opened where the old one was), the students protect it and flock to it with a kind of defensive fervour.
Drinks are cheap, cider is on tap, service is pretty good (not the fastest, but the queues are often long), and they even do cocktails if you're feeling the need for something fancy.
It's not quiet. Don't go here for a quiet afternoon beer. Just sayin' read more
