The manager was even helpful to inquire of what I was thinking of ordering then took my order once I was ready. While waiting I munched on the chips and salsa. The salsa was amazing. Flavors were on point. I never ordered biscuits with sausage gravy, but reading the ingredients on the menu sounded so good. I ordered the spicy chicken biscuits with sausage gravy and I was not disappointed. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a light batter and not too spicy. The sausage gravy was so savory and full of flavor. The biscuits were light and fluffy. Everything tasted so good together. Brunch Entrees come with a drink for $17. Either a mimosa, house margarita, or beer. I opted for the house margarita which was your basic house margarita. This was a really good deal. The portion of food was just right. The inside is beautifully decorated and same with the outside patio. There is plenty of seating outside with some picnic games too. I'll be back for Taco Tuesday!

I was dining alone, so I ordered the Adobada from the specials section. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the lovely atmosphere. The tortillas and beans were good, and the pork had nice flavor, but some of the meat was a little gamey and dry. The rice was the biggest challenge--it was somehow crunchy and mushy at the same time! The texture was very inconsistent. I'm sharing this with kindness because I genuinely want this local restaurant to succeed. Good food speaks louder than anything, and I think the restaurant has a lot of potential. I'll definitely come back and try something simpler next time. I'm rooting for you!

We are food snobs who really dread attending large events that feature banquet type food. There is…read morealways the worry that there will be too many things we can't eat (we are essentially pescatarian but keep Jewish dietary laws - kosher - in our home. Plus my husband doesn't eat nuts and we wanted to ensure there would be GF and vegan options.) You know what happens when you don't eat enough at an event that has an open bar? You run the risk of being "over served"... Keri and the team at Urban Phoenix were the perfect fit for our son's bar mitzvah celebration and now my husband and I are brainstorming and inventing other parties we can have just so we can work with them and eat their food again. They took our island theme and went heavy on the vegetables which is the way we like it. The cauliflower passed appetizer tasted "just like shrimp" according to my mother. The taco bar was delicious. Even though WE don't eat a lot of meat/poultry, we anticipated that our guests would be expecting it. The jackfruit substituted beautifully for brisket/pulled pork and I wish there had been leftovers of that dish. And the tostones. Our fry bar featured plant based "meat" sliders and... my son's friends thought they had eaten cheeseburgers. But the piec de resistance... THE POKE BAR with fish sourced locally from Chula Seafood. We had 140 guests at this event and we've probably heard from 100 of them that the poke bar was "bussin-bussin." According to my 13 year old son, this means "delicious". The presentation was top-notch and artistic. We are beyond happy to have worked with Urban Phoenix and would recommend them in a heartbeat. We have zero complaints. These are people who love food, love entertaining and take care of their clients.

We hired the Cabana Boys for a few hours during a bachelorette weekend, and overall the experience…read morewas pretty underwhelming. Before the event, we specifically requested a certain vibe and even provided a list of people we were interested in having at our party. It didn't feel like those requests were really taken into consideration. One of the guys who showed up was someone we had already seen the night before at HunkOMania, so it felt repetitive and took away from the experience a bit. The energy was also kind of off from the start. There were a few comments made that made some people in our group uncomfortable, including one that we felt was inappropriate and unnecessary. For something that's supposed to help create a fun atmosphere, it ended up feeling awkward at times. To be fair, the guys did make conversation, were friendly, and did their best to interact with everyone. The time itself wasn't terrible, it just felt very surface-level and didn't really live up to the expectations that were set by the website, reviews, and price point. I spoke with management afterward, and while they responded, the resolution felt pretty dismissive and didn't really address the bigger concerns. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I wouldn't book again. For our group of 16, the overall consensus was that it just wasn't worth the money and didn't add much to the weekend.
