Chicken salad on sourdough
Claudia C.

I spent a lovely Saturday working on my laptop in the afternoon at Sip Java. The atmosphere is friendly and chill, with a steady flow of customers but never an overwhelming line. I ordered an iced coffee (good flavor, though I wish they offered extra ice or kept some chilled nearby mine melted pretty quickly after the hot pourover) and the chicken salad on toasted sourdough. As someone allergic to dairy, I appreciated the many menu options, and the sandwich was delicious, a great dupe for Cheese Course! I just wish there had been a bit more heaped on for the $9 price point. The staff were genuinely kind, polite, and hustling nonstop; both the cashier and the server were friendly and upbeat. My absolute favorite part? So. Many. Dogs. Every few minutes another adorable, well-behaved pup strolled by. heaven!!The space is clean and cozy, though the bathroom (while tidy and midrenovation with cute paint swatches) was out of soap that day. One downside: no air conditioning. The open doors and cross breeze helped in early October, but I can't imagine it in peak summer. There's plenty of outdoor seating, great energy, and a clear sense of community. I'll definitely be back. hopefully next time to see that "New A.C." tip jar fully funded!

Coffee is a beautiful color and flavor!!

I'm so glad I live near this coffee shop! Both the coffee and food are really good. I usually order the Good Karma and I've tried various pastries which are tasty. The decor is cozy and they also have plenty of outdoor seating options. It can get busy sometimes but I've never had to wait too long for my coffee. Definitely worth checking out.

Good coffee spot in downtown! I always get the turkey empanadas or the lox. Always friendly and quick. Seating inside and outside!

Charge me $6 dollars for a bacon and egg and gave me a half a piece of bacon. On each side of the sandwich. Are they serious??

So let me start off by saying- I used to LOVE this place. I used to eat here every weekend as well as any other time I got a craving for one of their yummy sandwiches or baked goods. But like most things in Lauderdale once they become mainstream things slowly but surely change for the worse. Food, though the quality remains about the same, every month they're changing the prices. I'll just leave it on the note businesses of all forms in Lauderdale have changed so much. It's become more like Subpar Miami everyday - Give as little as possible to the customer while squeezing out as much profit as possible. Service- They used to be soooo friendly here which left you with that neighborhood spot feel. Now they just seem to go through the motions. Ambiance- well it is set up like a regular cafe. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It always saddens me when one of my favorites changes. But such is the cycle of businesses I guess. They either retain what made them special in the first place or they decide that profit is most important. One strategy retains loyal customers and the other does not. Thank you for the many years of good food and service! You will be missed!

Best coffee shop in Fort Lauderdale hands down! They have the best lattes and matcha I've ever had! The service is amazing! The staff is great, always greeting you with a smile. The cafe is always spotless and well organized! I go here almost 5 times and week! Don't walk, run here!

Loved this little spot! Super busy but I absolutely loved it! Not pictured were the sandwiches and the empanada. So good! They were so nice and its so cute inside! Would come again!

Easy parking, nice service, but the food we've ordered were little dry.

If you are looking for a place to have some coffee and maybe do some work, find someplace else. The music here is so intrusive and loud

I got the chicken pesto balsamic sandwich w chicken cutlet instead of grilled chicken, they accidentally made it was grilled chicken - the guy noticed right away, brought me the one w grilled chicken and told me to take it home and already started making me a new sandwich w the cutlet! That's just quality service. Now, THE SANDWICH ITSELF - ooooooof it was FIREEEEEE. the bread was focaccia - I guess it is typical made on ciabatta but they ran out, I was not mad at all bc the focaccia was INCREDIBLE, I am sure the ciabatta is amazing too but wow. Super tasty, super flavorful, wasn't dry at all! Service amazing, place clean, easy parking! I can't wait to go back

The super messy Malone (rated #1 by entire family), the Smoked Texas, and the Vodka Chicken Cutlet hoagie. 50 bucks before tip and we are told we got some hits. Next time we want Cheesesteak and the Smoked Brisket sandwich. That's right, next time. The burger was hands down loved by family and the bbq sauce felt original versus bottled. The pork was moist and we would only request a medium burger if possible. We forgot as the lines were moving and many have questions for register attendant. The Smoked Texas fell a little flat after the burger. The meat was way too diced for pastrami and the creamy aioli was a tad too much in quantity. Wife did not think the sesame seeded bread was right fit. Had we ordered this alone it might have been a partial hit but fell with its competitors. Perhaps a high end Rachel as a worthy replacement ?? The piece left for next day was quite oily and meat was over chopped and disintegrating. Finally came the cutlet hoagie stuffed with breaded chicken, sheets of cheese, and the soft light and super creamy and slightly sweet Vodka sauce. This sauce could also be a late night drink or poured on many items. Yum ....

The bread? Softer than your ex's excuses. The French vinaigrette? So addictive I'd mainline it if they sold it by the vial. Every bite is a messy, glorious avalanche--half the sandwich in your mouth, the other half on your shirt, and you don't care because God himself couldn't build a better lunch. And here's the kicker: it's open late. While every other Fort Lauderdale joint is shutting down or serving you sad diner food, La Sandwicherie is still slinging sandwiches like it's the French Revolution and you're storming the Bastille with a baguette. Best sandwiches in Florida. Maybe the country. Definitely the kind of sandwich worth ruining your diet, your shirt, and possibly your marriage for.

About 10 minutes later, I get a notice that my order is complete, inside a pickup box along with instructions on how to retrieve it. It was a baguette with ham, mayonnaise, salami and prosciutto as ordered. It was OK but nothing I would ever go back for. And no matter if it were excellent, good food could never overcome being stuck in a sandwich pickup place like this.

I'm always looking to try good delicatessen food so when a friend mentioned Top Hat Deli to me, I…read moreknew I had to try it! My husband and I went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy but were able to get a table right away. I love all things Halloween so I was really excited that it was decorated for Halloween. Our server, Raul came over with menus and shortly afterwards came over to get our order. I ordered the corned beef hash and my husband ordered the Reuben with fries. We also just had to try the potato pancakes/latkes so we ordered a side of them which consisted of two small potato pancakes. The food arrived pretty quickly and I was shocked at the portion size of my hash and eggs. I had enough for breakfast the next day which I enjoyed just as much. It was delicious but not made in the usual hash way with the meat and potatoes all mixed up together. This was more like a potato cake topped with corned beef and served with some slices of corned beef on the side. Different but delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Reuben and said it was one of the best he's ever eaten. The potato pancakes were great, perfectly crispy on the outside with nice fluffy potatoes on the inside. They were served with applesauce and sour cream in the side. Our server Raul was great, he gave us exceptional service without being too intrusive and he boxed up and bagged our leftovers and even gave us a couple of fresh iced teas to go. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other menu items!

My cousin from Miami recommended this place near Downtown FTL so I had to try it. We went for breakfast, but they are now open for dinner - but certain days/time, I'd double check. It's a cute, quaint, and more upscale deli than I'm used to but that only made me more excited. I was also very hungry. In true Yelp fashion, I looked this place up before we went and from the pictures, the portions looked huge, so my cousin and I split everything. But don't be fooled, we still ended up each getting an entree, and finishing everything. Like I said, hungry. Before I go on, the servers were great, nice, and the culture seems very accommodating because they kept explaining that we can mix and do plenty substitutions with our orders. It was really nice and refreshing for someone who wants to try a little bit of everything as much as possible. I ordered the Grand Schlam - which is like basic breakfast plate: a protein, egg, carb, and side. I ended up getting scrambled eggs, no cheese, the maple sausages, it comes with a Latke, and I choose the tomatoes with the basil oil as my side. Delicious. Eggs portion for the prices, amazing! The Latke was so yummy and perfect size. 2 maple sausages, not too sweet, which I like. And the star was fer sure the tomatoes with basil oil because it was refreshing with the savory egg and sausage combo. We also split the Corned Beef Hash - a popular dish there. It is a very large portion. My cousin finished most of it but only because I had some of it also. It comes with slices of corned beef, and shreds of corned beef on top of the hash, with eggs, and a side. And my dear cousin got a croissant as a side so he could make a freakin corned beef hash croissant sandwich. I mean is he my cousin or what. Anyways, it was amazing. The corned beef was perfectly cooked and not overly salty which was great. Then, we shared a Blueberry Pancake, amazing. Will definitely come back. They have the largest cookies I have ever seen. And I'm also interested in their dinner options too. Lovely gem!

The Sandwich was a huge portion for me and I only ate half. The meat was seasoned so well and the flavors came together for that sandwich. My. Lord. The Garlic Parmesan fries were as advertised. Garlicky and cheesy in the perfect amount. I, personally, love thicker cut fries and these delivered. The cookie was called Marshmallow something. The reviews were positive and the photos online looked great, plus I love a good sandwich at lunch time. We ordered the Chicken Parm Pesto Sandwich and the Chicken Cesar Salad Wrap. The Chicken Parm Pesto Sandwich was delish! The bread was soft and fresh. There was ample chicken and it was already cut up to make it easier to eat. The mix of red sauce and pesto was a perfect combo! It was a flavor bomb! There were also huge chunks of fresh mozzarella mixed in. It could have had just a bit more arugula, but this was not enough of a note to really impact the experience. The Chicken Sesar Salad Wrap was huge! All of the flavors were great, but it was very heavy on the kale. The menu said it was supposed to be a mix of romaine and kale, but it felt like all kale. I'm guessing the current lettuce issue was the reason behind that. This is a small sandwich shop but the service was awesome and the interior is really cute. The walls are covered with sweet pictures of customers enjoying their food. I will definitely come back and try more options. They have a display of cookies that looked amazing! I always prefer a local place over a chain, especially when it comes to sandwiches.
