It was still a little busy, but we were able to get in and finally experience the photo booths. Every worker we encountered was very kind, helpful, informative, and friendly. They have multiple booths seven I believe, but there were two out of order during our visit. Regardless the booths that were working made it a great experience and I left with some fun keepsakes. The photo booths range from $7-$7.50 for two to four pictures, and they are tap-to-pay only. Some booths offer both black-and-white and color options, while others are either black-and-white or color. The booths are spacious enough for couples and even group photos, making this a fun spot for date nights, girls' nights, family outings, coworker gatherings, or something fun to do while visiting Houston. Photomatica was clean, had a great music selection, and had seating available while you waited. They don't sell food or drinks, but there are restaurants nearby if you want to grab something before or after. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and I've already recommended this spot to a few future customers.

After reading the reviews for Doc's online (on Yelp, etc.) and seeing poor reviews of the food there (and also some reviews complaining about the service), we weren't expecting the food or the service to be very good, but we ordered dinner there anyway, and we were very glad that we did, because the food was EXCELLENT, some of the best food you'll find anywhere. And the desserts (which we both ordered) were equally outstanding. Our waitress told us that Doc's had recently gotten a new chef (who is obviously much better than the old chef who had been there.) This explains why our food experience was the opposite of some of the older reviews that we had seen online. And, the service was also the best you will find anywhere. Our waitress was very attentive, and checked on us often to make sure that we didn't need anything else. Staff members also made sure to keep our water glasses filled throughout the whole night, which we really appreciated. The service was outstanding, even though the show was sold out, with a full audience in attendance that night. The ambience of the club is also very nice. It's like going to an upscale, vintage jazz club. It's a great place to take a date that you want to make a good impression on, or to go out to celebrate a special occasion. But it is also is a nice place to go for a casual night out when you want to hear some great entertainment. We will definitely be back, and have decided that we will be going to Doc's regularly, looking forward again to great entertainment and excellent food and service. Doc's regularly features great jazz by the finest musicians in Houston, but also some of the best regional, national, and international musicians perform there as well. I love how it featured both local Houston musical artists and had bigger names like GZA, Ghostland Observatory, and Metric. They also had a comedy tent, art paintings installed, and a wrestling ring right by one of the stages. There were also vendors present. I was confused at first when I arrived since I bought VIP tickets but there seemed to be only one entrance. Also there was no map of where the stages were, but I eventually wandered around and figured it out. There was also confusion on the 1st day of the 2015 festival since I wanted to see some opening acts at the Ballroom and Studio stages which were located in the Warehouse Live venue, but it wasn't open yet since they started late. The comedy tent is located where the art and food trucks are. The 2 main stages are located all the way on the other end (almost behind the BBVA stadium, but not quite). I loved the small setting that this festival had. I discovered local artists that I otherwise wouldn't have known about and found me some good music to listen to. There were also all sorts of genres represented here from synths, electronica, punk, metal to indie rock and hip-hop. The tickets are very affordable and worth its value just on the lineup alone. I just bought VIP tickets just to see whatever extra access it had but it wasn't crowded enough to justify spending that much. Regular tickets would've been fine. Wrestling Ring featuring actual wrestling with a music stage right next to it, to the comedy tent featuring a variety of comedians, to the broad genres of musics one can listen to and see art, Houston Whatever Fest truly lives up to its name.

Stages and tents were not clearly and visibly marked. Buying drinks was insane as you had to stand in one line to buy tickets (cash only) and then stand in another to get drinks. You could go to Lucky's pub and get a drink there (but couldn't walk back into the fest w/it), but it was easier and they take plastic. Only about 5 food trucks on site. The much hyped up ferris wheel was not operating on Saturday, and no sign of why. Hopefully, in the coming years they improve, and I can write a more positive review.

I was surprised at the turn out this place has, I attended both plays within the "Quintero/Black BOx" theater, and the people that attend are from all walks of life. The first one was more of comical drama about married life... the play itself was interesting and the audience is really attentive and respectful. The second one WAS HILARIOUS, I definitely would not mind seeing this even if it wasn't a requirement for my class. The layout and the ticket office is really professional. The plays are in a brand new building with great lighting. Had me saying "IS THIS REALLY IN UH?" then my thoughts turned to..."OHHH...THIS IS WHERE MY TUITION GOES" lol. All in All it was a great experience and the staff are very kind and helpful. And ooooh weee.... the women there for some reason are so pretty... they are everywhere! especially the Ushers... i felt like getting kicked out so one of them would come over and take me away! lol Definitely a great Date Spot... There is also about 300 less seats here than at the Alley so get your tickets while they last!
