So far I've made it to the Italian and Georgian tastings, and both have been a lot of fun. The place is really laid back. Great ambiance, soothing background music, and it's the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation with just about anyone sitting around you. It feels comfortable without being stuffy or pretentious. Josh, the assistant manager, and his team are all over customer service. They're friendly, attentive and seem to genuinely enjoy making sure everyone is having a good time. The tastings are fun, the wine flows, and you get to try wines you probably wouldn't otherwise come across. The membership is pretty reasonable too. You can also order food from the restaurant next door, and they occasionally have a food truck, so you can easily make an evening of it. To me, Beaker & Flask is kind of like having a secret living room where you can hang out, meet interesting people, drink good wine, and best of all, you don't have to clean up afterward. The only problem with writing this review is that I really don't want too many people to know about it.
