BATE, LIES, AND INCOMPETENCE from sales manager JASON BARR at the Lennox SD location. (LEMON -…read moreWhite 2012 Prius V Five - VIN JTDZN3EU8C3031943). Read on to hear our experience. BATE - We worked with a nice salesman who was lovely. He even sent us nice places to eat in the area since we were from out of town. We drove 5 hours from the twin cities to look at a car that was a great deal for the year and miles. We were assured it was in great condition and that the salesman could not find anything wrong with it. He even sweetly offered a small discount because I am a teacher. I was excited to buy my wife a nice car. LIES - upon arriving, I immediately noticed countless small rust spots along the entire passenger side of the car that did not appear in the photos. Not only on the passenger side, but also on the front, inside the doors etc. The nice salesman was clearly new and incompetent, so went to get his manager Jason Barr. Jason then proceeded to downplay the situation and tell us "all cars in Minnesota are like that" (not true), "clay bar" solution could fix it (temporarily), and that even our car had rust (ours has 200k miles with two dots, not the same). Basically all around sleazy sales tactics. Luckily I have a friend who owns an auto body shop, called him, and he told me to run as far away as I could. The salesman was clearly lying, it was always going to be an issue and would get worse. INCOMPETENCE - After we clearly said, "no", all the pressure and lying stopped and Jason was suddenly very apologetic and kind. We had put $2500 down on our credit card as a down payment to hold it until the weekend when we could drive down. Instead of refunding our money, he instead put an additional $2500 on our credit card! It took half a week to get all our money back while they maxed out our credit card. He clearly wanted to avoid this negative review so he offered us gift cards to a place that was closed and to another that was only good in Sioux Falls. Smooth. LESSON - they might have a car you want to buy. Get it checked out by a mechanic and don't trust ANYTHING they say. Also, they probably found a way to hide all the rust on this car so they can sucker someone else into buying it. I hope you read this post before you do.

It was like we had been customers for years! What could have been a really low point in our trip ended with us loving Sioux Falls. The car is doing great and we continued our trip. Highly recommend this company.

Which would mean the vehicle would have to go to the junkyard. So I brought it to another guy. He started taking parts of the engine apart and actually inspecting it instead of just a quick once over. We ended up replacing the radiator and thermostat. STAY FAR AWAY! Took in a car with 87k miles with no engine problems and after they worked on it,…read moreit needs a new engine!! We had been customers here for decades for tires. In May we took a car in for tires and had an oil change done. They had to order the air filter so sent our son home to come back later for it. As soon as he left the shop the check engine light came on. Called them and went back. Tech said they forgot to put the old air filter in so he should be fine now. We have had problems since and ultimately it was determined that we need a new engine. Manley is stating that there is NO way they did not put the filter in; they don't make mistakes like that and they have no idea why their employee would have said that but talked to him. The camera footage was already destroyed so they can't show us it was put in either. Had an employee say they were busy and that's when mistakes get made but the owner assures us it didn't happen and as long as that's what he says then it's our problem. Interesting when you read all the errors they make and how they have never filed with the BBB. The owner told us incorrect information regarding his insurance company and then dropped communication. He did file a claim with his insurance, but as long as he stands by it not being their fault then insurance is useless. Had car towed to another shop and video footage shows gouging in the cylinder. I'm not a mechanic but what I have learned is that debris can cause gouging and debris can get in an engine from an air filter being left out so if a car goes in with no issues as confirmed by their diagnostics but leaves with engine problems it seems VERY likely something happened during that service appointment. It seems much less likely that an engine that was fine, had 87k miles just broke down within a couple of miles of leaving their shop coincidentally like the owner is telling us. Absolutely horrible to work with!!
