What a gem! It's so freeing to go to a restaurant that is entirely gluten free. A heads up to my fellow nut-allergy people, some of the bakery items are made with nut flour so double check with your server. We were in Buenos Aires for four days and made five visits to sintaxis. I've walked by so many dessert places and Sintaxis seemed to be the most promising based on countless stellar reviews. However if you look more closely at the positive reviews on tripadvisor, people are commenting on how great their gluten free desserts are (red flag red flag!) which I have nothing against, but I've mentioned in my other reviews gluten free restaurants always get extra points for just being gluten free (as do vegetarian restaurants). Per the waiters recommendation, we ordered the brownie strawberry mousse dessert and pancake and both were very mediocre. Note: This is separate from their "torte" menu which are little cakes that are displayed in the front.The brownie tasted dry and the mousse and ice cream tasted low quality. Kinda reminded me of a Vegas buffet dessert - beautifully displayed but average tasting. Same with the pancake, which was drenched in a sweet sauce. read more

Very good gluten free restaurant. They had some vegetarian/fish options but I wish they had a few more. The meal started with some gluten free bread that was quite good. I had a smoked salmon veggie wrap with fries and it was very tasty. My husband had a wrap with meat and enjoyed it even though he prefers gluten. Unfortunately I was too full for dessert and didn't make it back there while I was in town to try the desserts. They have food items for sale at the front of the store. They only took cash and debit card, not credit card. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a worry free dinner in BA! read more

Really beautiful and welcoming space with so-so food but good drinks and gorgeous desserts. We came in for a quick bite and tried the pumpkin and vegetable tarts with frozen lemonades. I was pleasantly surprised that the lemonades weren't cloyingly sweet. The tarts were fine but didn't impress. Of the two, the pumpkin/corn was the more interesting but didn't leave either of us wanting to have it ever again. When ordering, be sure to opt for the fries instead of the below-average side salad. The desserts are gorgeous and can easily be shared between two. Food aside, the space is beautiful inside and out. WiFi is available and relatively strong too and menus are available in both English and Spanish. read more

First off, let me say I am super happy (as a celiac) to have a dedicated gluten free restaurant as an option. I will also likely go back because I am celiac and have few options. However my review - This place is for people who want to eat gluten free and not catering to additional food issues/allergies...as I learned on both visits. The menu doesn't list descriptions/ingredients or other allergens (very odd for a restaurant catering to people with food issues). Both times I went the staff were rude to me. When I asked the waiter about specific ingredients on bread he brought over, he looked at me like I was a pill and then pulled my food away without another word and walked away. If you don't want to deal with people with food issues, maybe don't work in this place. I had the burger and fries. It was ok. The meat tasted like those frozen pre-made patties and the edges of the bread were hard like they had been frozen and reheated too long. I'll go back and try a few more things to see if the quality is better on other items. read more

Ahhhhh. This place is SO GOOD! I had the mint lemonade and it was to die for... Worth being kind of pricy at AR$55. The "El Cerdo" wrap was awesome; the meat was tender and it was perfectly dressed with a tasty sauce. The side salad was good too but didn't really stand out to me! My friend loved her G-free empanadas. I think it's awesome that the whole place is dedicated to being gluten free. Makes dining a lot easier for our gluten intolerant friends. The atmosphere here is cute, chic and comfy, and I can't wait to be back to try breakfast or some desserts! read more

Great place for afternoon, evening, or late-night working or hanging out. Spacious, clean, and classy enough, Sintaxis is a good place to park yourself for a few hours. Order coffee or a small dish, spread out, plug in the computer, and you're set for a solid afternoon or evening. I've come twice. The second time was in an emergency when I had to charge my computer and take some video calls. The server immediately cleared the table that I needed next to the power outlet, and the strong wifi permitted me hours of video calls. One shortcoming is the food itself, which is not really up to the highest standards. I've had two different salads here, which is generally a fair indicator of a general food quality, and they weren't great. But nearly every other aspect of Sintaxis is exactly as it should be. read more

My girlfriend and I had a very negative experience at Sintaxis. The table we were sat at was uncomfortable and made normal conversation difficult. The empanadas tasted like they were from the freezer in the front of the restaurant and had just been microwaved. The salmon salad tasted horrible and the waiter did not provide any options when I informed him it tasted rotten after a few bites. I felt ill for a few hours after eating here and would recommend patrons sample any other of BA's many gluten free options rather than subjecting themselves to Sintaxis. read more
