I now live elsewhere but am an LA native and was in downtown LA on 4/18/24. My jeweler of 25 years was out that day as we had previously discussed, but I still went to the diamond district because I wanted to show my brother all about the four C's. He is looking for an engagement ring. I also had $30,000 cash burning a hole in my pocket, so my husband encouraged me to look for the antique ring I've always mentioned. I KNEW Singlestone was the place immediately. I have had their website saved for at least 15 years (our wedding) and look at their page so often. Imagine my surprise when I was standing outside St. Vincent jewelry Mart, trying to find Singlestone and couldn't. Not unusual , bc diamond district. Then I called them. The way I was treated with the first initial call was humiliating. I was asked who I am, what I want, who referred me. (Not necessarily abnormal in DD. I'm used to private purchases only... ) The tone was accusatory and made me feel really embarrassed. I immediately hung up. Then the same number kept repeatedly calling me back. When I answered, the tone was no better. I was honestly too embarrassed to continue by the way they treated me on the phone. No thank you. I'm just a patron of the diamond district who has been shopping with the same diamond dealer for over 25 years. I was shocked and really embarrassed with this experience. I will not be shopping with anyone else from now on. No thank you, Singlestone. read more

"You just know.."--The saying I've heard all my life about finding the one you want to spend the rest of your life with is also true when searching for the ring you want for the rest of your life. Ring hunting was not fun, actually, it was kind of brutal. I quickly found out that you need to walk into a store knowledgeable and with a firm vision or you will either be ignored or pounced on. I got neither of these treatments at Single Stone. My TOP criteria (so I don't bore you with all of it!): 1) certified conflict-free diamonds 2) budget 3) unique or vintage inspired look 4) a tug on my heart ;) To avoid buying a conflict diamond, I first thought of engineered stones, but the look was too "perfect" and lacked character. So, back to diamonds, I called and searched for ones with a Kimberly Process Certificate. Wow, it was pretty shocking to find out almost no one could provide one or even know the origin of the stones. How can you certify it if you don't know where it came from?! The solution was found with Old European Cut diamonds from Single Stone! These diamonds date to early 1900's which put my worries about the horrible events in Africa in the 70's (and on) to rest. I encountered calm, attentive staff who were happy to appease my slow-paced browsing and decision making. Although, the first moment I saw my ring, I just knew. read more

My fiancé had a "deadline" to propose to me before we moved in together. The apartment was picked out, the lease was signed and there was no ring. .. On Christmas Day he presented me with the PERFECT RING. It wasn't just beautiful, it was unique, a reflection of me, and designed based on all the little details I had shared with my boyfriend over the past 6 years. Single Stone helped my fiancé design a ring that is unique in every way. An antique cognac diamond set in a gold band embedded with tiny sparkling white diamonds within an intricate filigree. It took 4 secret trips to LA and countless hours of research before he found the right people who could listen to what his vision for my ring was, and fit it to his budget. I couldn't be happier. We went back the next weekend to meet everyone. They were genuinely nice people and had a huge selection of designs and stones. I highly recommend Single Stone. Go here. read more

So very fortunate to have discovered Single Stone via 1stdibs.com while hunting for my perfect engagement ring. Even more fortunate to have met Molly who patiently held our hand while we went through the process. No pressure or pretense. Just information and good suggestions. Oh, and probably the most beautiful and original handcrafted rings available. We've returned a year later to purchase our wedding rings and the same great service and beautiful designs remain a constant. If you are looking for the real deal and don't want to see your ring walking down the street toward you on someone else, this is it! And you're likely to walk away with some new friends as well. This jeweler is run by a group of lovely folks who clearly know and love their craft, as well as their clients. I've recommended them to every friend who is recently engaged. read more

I never thought I'd be so smitten with giant sparkly rocks, but turns out, they're just pretty enough here to change my decades-long dislike of diamonds and a whole global industry! That's how amazing everything is here! In addition to a gorgeous collection of antique rings, unique diamond cuts, and beautiful bands, everyone who works here is so incredibly sweet. And patient. They don't even seem to mind when you try on 12 different bands and take a picture of each and every one of them. Twice. :) If you can, ask for Heather. She's just a lovely person overall. They have fantastic end of year sales and shipping is free! And, I think if you ship out of state, there are no sales taxes. I get compliments on my engagement ring from here all of the time. Yes, it feels awkward when people stare at it, but it is so cute. And unique. I've never seen a ring that looks like mine. Also, the diamond does look much bigger than it actually is if you're looking for that sort of thing. It's the first and only piece of jewelry of which I haven't grown tired. Ok, I did find a bigger ring (like three times my size!!) that was trying to draw me in, but I resisted! Maybe one day. When you've exhausted yourself in the overwhelming Diamond District, head here. Or, just avoid that entire fiasco and come straight here. They'll validate your parking and give you water too! :) read more

If your taste is gorgeous and exquisite, make your way to single stone to find a collection of beautiful vintage and vintage inspired pieces. Great place to stop. I came in here looking for something vintage for my soon to be fiancee. Patti immediately helped me out. Couldn't have been a nicer soul. By no means do I have cash like Kobe or broke like a bum, but they never made me feel inferior like another place in their building. This was a big adjustment for me to be spending so much money on something that didn't come with 4 wheels and a motor. They had so many nice rings. Some completely crazy and others very reasonable. I work in the area so I did quite a bit of shopping around and found they really do live up to their great reviews here. I didn't buy from them because I didn't find anything in my range that really stood out to me, none the less, they are some of the best people I came to find while I was on the hunt for months for the perfect ring. They will have my business in the future. Thank you Patti!!! read more

My girlfriend, Laura, found Single Stone when we started to look for engagement rings, and we made an appointment with Heather, not sure what to expect. When we got to Single Stone we immediately got a good feeling about it. Heather was prepared and ready for our appointment with rings pulled that Laura had mentioned from the website. She was great at explaining the differences between the pieces and very discreet in talking to me about pricing. Everyone at Single Stone was also extremely knowledgeable about vintage rings, which is what we were looking for. After our appointment I had a good idea of the type of ring Laura wanted, and I checked out another jeweler to see what they had, but no where else was as knowledgeable, friendly, or helpful as Single Stone. Heather and the team at Single Stone answered all my questions, helped me through the entire buying process, and were willing to work with me on pricing - I could not recommend them highly enough. Go in to look and you'll quickly see that you'll be taken care of at Single Stone! And I'm happy to report that I have since proposed to my girlfriend and she's now my fiancé! read more

I had SingleStone create a setting and mount a diamond. They did a fantastic job and exceeded my expectations. However, I had two problems with them: 1. I had the setting appraised and there were less diamonds in the setting than I had been told there would be by Ari. He quickly took care of the situation by refunding a portion, which I was happy with. 2. However, they sent a receipt to my home address. Of course, my girlfriend found it in the mail (and saw it was from Single Stone) and thus knew about me purchasing a ring. This, in my mind, was completely unacceptable. I was never told they would be sending me a receipt. They had NEVER shipped/sent anything to my home address and should not have done so in this case. It ruined the surprise. read more

We found this place by accident because I didn't want to take the elevator down after visiting a different jewelry store. Single Stone has the boutique feel you'd get from a quaint sidewalk storefront in a semi-secret word-of-mouth hidden jewelry district shop tucked on the second floor of a high rise. (And, OK, maybe that's my personal bias because I grew up in the suburbs shopping at malls and often hesitate to go into small, unfamiliar shops where I actually have to talk to people. My fiancee works in the fashion industry, so SHE knows ALL about these hidden showrooms. All right, all right, I'm impressed. I'm so lame! I get it!) Regardless of my upbringing and/or ignorance, the Jewelry District, and in this case the "California Jewelry Mart" building is an adventure worth your time. Single Stone had some excellent, unique pieces and vintage stuff you won't find anywhere else. I mean it REALLY caught our eye walking past. I even ran into my friend here buying his future-wife's engagement ring, so if you buy into the whole magical coincidence thing...there's that. The staff was helpful, friendly and they even had good magazines. read more

This is a wonderful jewelry store, especially if you're looking for vintage or vintage inspired rings. My boyfriend and I searched endlessly for vintage jewelers in San Diego and could not find a single enticing place. We also looked at a store in San Francisco which was really nice but did not compare to Single Stone in terms of selection and customer service. I had read reviews about this place on Yelp and was immediately intrigued. My boyfriend made an appointment and we headed up there last Saturday. The place is gorgeous, elegant and the women who helped us - Patti and Heather - were incredibly welcoming, patient and kind. There were many options and we fell in love with several gorgeous antique rings. After narrowing it down and asking a million questions, we made a decision and picked out the ring of my dreams. It is a gorgeous European cut diamond from the 1920s. *Also they have options for everyone's budget. Also, my boyfriend just spoke to his best friend who lives in San Francisco and was recently married. It turns out that he had actually flown to LA to visit Single Stone where he purchased his ring! We had no idea. Pretty cool. I highly recommend this place and I recommend making an appointment. read more

"Turn it off, it's too sparkly!" It's been 6 months since I found my dream ring and I still say WOW when I look at my left hand! Ari was very to the point and knowledgeable. We asked some really stupid newbie questions and he was very frank and realistic. We liked that! He is so passionate about his work and once he gauged on what I liked he sent us over to the other store on Mission Street to see two specific rings that he knew I would love. So off we went through LA traffic. (TBC on Mission Street review) Needless to say, we came back two weeks later to purchase my ring (one of the two he had in mind). They even resized it for me the same day! It was insanely easy. In summary, if you want a ring that is vintage, different and unique then you should check out Single Stone. After about 2 months of intensive searching, my eyes were starting to cross and I was losing hope. Every ring started to look the same until I ran into the rose cuts displayed at the window. I was just so excited to have found rose cut diamonds in person!! Still am! Man, I want one. Until next time... ;) read more

I recently purchased an engagement ring from Single Stone, and I can't say enough great things about Ari and his entire staff. I would give them 10 stars if I could. From the moment we started looking at rings, Ari was friendly, informative, and receptive. We gave him our budget, and within a week, he presented us with 5 unique diamond options that were within our budget. We couldn't be happier with the finished ring. The quality of work is amazing and the design is beautiful. Single Stone made what could have been a stressful experience into a pleasurable one. read more

Do not hesitate. Go to Single Stone! My fiance and i were needing to sort out our rings. We knew we wanted vintage rings. So we hit the internet and came up with a few places. Single Stone seemed to sum up what we were looking for so we decided to make them our first stop. We were on a budget and Ari and his staff treated us with respect, and never judged us based on our financial position.. They actually went out of their way for us to try and make it happen the way we envisioned it, and most importantly, we were made to feel extremely comfortable during the entire process. They are just good people. And to find the ring we absolutely loved, and it being within our reach was just luck.... ??? Maybe not. Just a great decision to go there in the first place. read more

After going from one jewelry store to another, every vendor had similar settings and diamonds that just didn't appeal to me at all. So, when searching for my engagement ring I knew i wanted something unique and different, a round old european cut diamond with a vintage inspired setting. After searching on Yelp and Pricescope (learn everything about diamonds here), I fell in love with Single Stone and I knew I wanted to get my ring here. I'm obsessed with their store and website! I looked countlessly at every piece they had. The SS staff is AMAZING and I cant thank Ari, Heather and Patti enough! They make sure you are 100% happy with your ring. I don't know how many times I went to the showroom, so indecisive because every piece is so beautiful! I tried on sooo many rings and each of them unique in their own way which is the beauty about vintage pieces. I was set on a ring and then Ari pulled out this beautiful cushion cut diamond and that was it for me. Next, I had put a down payment on the ring, but after a couple of days I started to have second thoughts. I emailed SS with my concerns and without hesitation, they pulled some rings that I requested to look at. Again, I went to the showroom still indecisive about what to get but when Ari pulled out the ring I requested to see, I knew it was for me. If your looking for vintage diamonds and settings, SS is the spot! Even if your interested in modern cuts, they will find what your looking for and even custom make the setting of your dreams. The settings are hand made, BEAUTIFUL and the craftsmanship and details on them are amazing. I cant say it enough, I LOVE my ring and I LOVE Single Stone! read more

This is THE place for vintage rings. Here's a quick breakdown: -Their selection has very unique pieces. -The staff respects your price range. (see NOT PUSHY) -Turnaround on the ring sizing was pretty fast. My fiance was looking for a very unique piece and we had little luck going to all the other stores. Everything was typical or trendy, which is not what she likes. She really wanted a vintage ring... not just vintage style, but a real vintage ring. We found Single Stone and she fell in love with a ring. It was a vintage ring from the 1890's! We wouldn't have found that anywhere else. The sales girl Heather was so helpful and she made sure the price was right as well as got the ring to us asap. Transaction went smoothly! We were in and out of there within an hour! Highly recommend Single Stone and sales rep Heather. read more

If you seek something unique and not the normal mall or Jewelry Exchange type or engagement or wedding ring, this is the place. I ended up here because they sell real antique rings as well as their own original one of a kind vintage style designs. I prefer rose cut and OEC diamonds. A little on the pricey side. Not Harry Winston pricey but still pricey. No cookie cutter rings at Single Stone. I wanted a specific rose cut diamond in certain colors and they delivered them for me to inspect in less than a week. Once I had picked a design and customized it with my own ideas, the ring was ready within a matter of a couple weeks. Ari emailed me JPGs and I told them to make a couple of tweaks to the ring to my satisfaction and it was completed to my liking in no time. Customer service, phone and email communication was top notch. read more

Absolutely awesome! A co-worker whom found SS on yelp after searching for some vintage ring shops recommended me. Heather was very helpful and extremely professional from the beginning. Along with Ari whom together walked me through the whole process of created a custom piece and worked within cents of my budget. While always keeping in mind that this was all for much like the ring, a uniquely classic fiancé with allot of character. I dare you to walk into SS and not be impressed by all their timeless pieces and their extreme professionalism. Thanks again Heather and Ari. Its only been 2 weeks since we've been engaged and the various compliments on her newly decorated pretty little ring finger reflect your attention to creating/selling a lifelong feeling not just a product. Already recommended a close friend whom I'm assured will choose to create a unique piece that represents his own style. read more

I thought I would never find a ring...until I found Single Stone. Having never purchased an engagement ring before I was finding the whole experience a little daunting. I was worried I would get the wrong design, spend too much money, and quite frankly get ripped off. Then I discovered Ari and the team. They helped us design a stunningly unique vintage style ring. All within the budget I specified. It made the entire experience extremely pleasurable and evaporated the feeling known as buyers remorse. When I picked up the ring it was even more beautiful than I had imagined...a very proud moment indeed. I can't recommend Single Stone enough!!! read more

My fiancé proposed with his grandmother's diamond, but we wanted to get it mounted into a setting that was more my style. After doing research online and searching for several weeks in various jewelry stores in Los Angeles, we couldn't find anything we liked. All the settings were either too high, too elaborate, or too generic. Then I found Single Stone on Yelp. First of all, the shop is beautiful. When you first walk in, you'll see a table with white Eames style chairs for customers to sit in while waiting for assistance. The lighting is clean and bright, and there are several cases full of vintage diamond rings and Single Stone reproductions. It feels lovely to spend time there. It's very calm and modern. I knew I wanted a vintage style setting but wasn't sure exactly what kind. The staff at Single Stone were awesome. I visited their store three times while trying to make my decision, and Heather, Patti, and Molly were professional, kind, and patient. They also had great advice about which settings would work well with my stone. When I visited other jewelry stores, it felt more like a sales pitch, and I found the jewelers to be a little smarmy and pushy. There was none of this attitude at Single Stone. Everyone was genuine, knowledgeable, and there was no pressure. It felt more like I was just hanging out with friends talking about diamond rings! I picked up my finished ring today, and I'm in love with it. It's beautiful and unique, and I'm completely happy with both the finished product and the service I received. I'll be recommending Single Stone to everyone I know :) read more

Let me tell you, these people are SO nice. Everyone here was so sweet I never been in a jewelry establishment that has better customer service than these people. I called them with -what I feel- a million questions and Arrielle (I think that's how you spell her name) and Jacqueline answered everything. They seemed happy to answer my questions. They helped me with my custom ring design for my fiance and offered us beverages the moment we came in. After my experience I honestly will never buy jewelry from anyone else if I don't have to. Their customer service is that wonderful. Thank you! My fiance loves you!!! Lol read more

I found Single Stone while searching online for a new setting for my pear shaped diamond. The pictures of their designs on their website were beautiful and I saw a very unique mounting I liked for my stone. I called their shop and Heather was very helpful and able to give me an estimate via telephone. This gave me an opportunity to determine if the ring I wanted was even in my budget. While the price was a bit more than I wanted to spend, I had to see the ring for myself in person. I had compromised what I really wanted with my first setting, and I didn't want to make the same mistake again. When I visited their store I was very impressed with the selection of rings they had, the quality of their workmanship and their professionalism. Ari explained the process of making my ring by hand, specific to my stone, and the timeframe required to do it. I felt very comfortable leaving my stone with them, confident that they would do an outstanding job, and that they would go out of their way to be sure I was happy in the end. I picked up my ring today and it is phenomenal! It exceeded my expectations and was perfect in every way! You can tell that only the best diamonds were used when creating the mounting and that it was made perfectly to fit my stone. It also fit my finger great, no adjustments at all! I'm so glad I didn't settle this time. Thank you Ari and Heather for helping create this beautiful heirloom that I will treasure forever! read more

When shopping for our wedding bands, Single Stone was the first place we went to because of the positive reviews we had read. We liked what we had seen there but wanted to check a few other positively reviewed stores in the area. No other shop that we visited had jewelery of the same aesthetic as Single Stone, so we went back and ordered our rings that day. It was Saturday and we didn't have an appointment but Ari helped us find the material, style, and finish that we wanted. A couple of weeks later we had our rings and they looked just like we had discussed. We are extremely happy with our purchase. read more

This review is extremely overdue. My husband and I came into Singlestone after visiting what seemed like every jeweler in Orange County and Los Angeles (literally we looked for months and months!). We were looking for a personalized and unique ring and wanted to use my mother's engagement stone (I really wanted to feel connected to my mom in this way and also wanted to be able to know for sure that my diamond came from an ethical origin). The rings at Singlestone were truly unique and much more artful than any of the selections at other stores --which had started to look very cookie-cutter to us. They are specialists in reusing old diamonds for modern yet classical handmade jewelry. We fell in love with Singlestone's Josilyn style and my mother's stone looks amazing in it. As another huge plus, Singlestone was the only jeweler/engraver that we found that was able to engrave both of our rings with our *own* handwritten signatures. Literally, our own handwriting engraved in each other's bands. It looks amazing and I've never seen anyone do that before. The personalization and artfulness of the whole Singlestone process makes it in my opinion the best place to make such an important purchase. Lastly, we have to say that the whole team there is so sweet, patient, and fun! You can tell it is truly a family run business. Recommend to anyone. Thanks so much, SS team! read more

Single Stone is a fantastic jewerly store run by great people. I went downtown to explore buying an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I was open to new rings but also wanted to explore the idea of vintage rings as well (both because we love that look but also because of the environmental reasons for going vintage) I had been to a few other stores before Single Stone and after visiting stores around the diamond district and feeling like I was going used car shopping I heard that Single Stone had vintage rings and before I leave downtown I should check them out. So I went up to the store. Immediately I knew this place was different. The decor was hip and tasteful and the rings in the window were insanely cool looking. Then I met the people. There were so friendly and cool and never made me feel stupid for what I didn't know. Ari and Heather took me through all sorts of rings, settings, and diamonds. Once I got it narrowed down to 3 Heather was kind enough to take photos of the rings and email them to me so I could sit with the rings for a bit before making the final decision. Any time I had a question they responded immediately and were incredibly helpful. With their help found a truly amazing and unique ring from the 1920's at a price that was right at my budget. Through the whole process of finding the ring, buying the ring, picking it up (they held it for me till I was going to pop the question), and getting it sized with my now fiance the people at Single Stone were incredible. So helpful, kind, and knowledgable. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. (We are getting our bands there as well). I had an excellent experience with Single Stone when looking for a vintage or vintage-inspired ring for the woman who is now my wife. After researching hundreds of rings online, I developed a sense of what I wanted and began visiting actual jewelers to see the merchandise. Though I originally wanted an Old European cut, I came around to the beauty of emerald and Asscher cuts after seeing some stunning examples at different jewelers around town. After more internet research, I had a pretty good idea of the Art Deco design I wanted. I came to Single Stone because their site featured a modern ring in an Art Deco style that was very close to some vintage rings I'd seen online. I worked with Ari to sketch out what I wanted, and the ring turned out even better than I had hoped. During the diamond selection process, Ari collected about a dozen very nice emerald and Asscher cut stones for me to choose from. Though they were all beautiful, I didn't feel that any single one of them was just right. Ari showed me some rings he had in stock, one of which had a stone with the perfect mix of color, cut, and carat weight - so he swapped it out and I used that one in the ring. Although I didn't purchase an actual vintage ring, I did visit a number of jewelers specializing in vintage rings. The best thing about Single Stone is its exquisitely curated inventory. Shopping for a ring can be overwhelming, and it was reassuring to realize that though the selection at Single Stone was smaller than some shops, every piece was absolutely gorgeous. Basically, you can't go wrong at Single Stone. My wife was very surprised and thrilled with the ring that Single Stone helped me create for her. read more

Ok so some of you may blast me for this but I am not an official customer of SS yet I feel like I should leave this review. I only visited their website (many times over) and was involved with SS through email communication. I must say their rep (Heather) was one of the nicest jewelry reps I've dealt with. Very quick at replying, understanding of my requests and supportive even after I mentioned I had made a purchase elsewhere. No other company had done this before. I will be a customer of theirs one day. You can bet on that. Thank you. read more

What a lovely experience. Patty had chilled Sofia's waiting for us when we arrived . She was patient and thoughtful. I made an appointment to have my grandmother's engagement ring altered. I met with Patty, who was very nice but did not seem very focused on me as a customer. She measured the diamond and told me there was no way to make the alteration I requested nor reset the diamond due to the size. I sensed that due to the ring not being interesting to her or the diamond being big enough, they were not willing to help me. It was a huge waste of my time and they offered no help or suggestions. A dear friend recommended Single Stone after my fiancé and I were having the hardest time finding me an engagement ring I absolutely loved. I felt like every ring I was seeing elsewhere was generic and the designs would be seen daily on other women. I really wanted something equally unique as I wanted to know exactly where the diamond came from. Before going in I checked the website and a couple hours later we were at the store. Arielle was very helpful and extremely patient with me... and by patient I mean I left two hours later with three favorites, all very different. I ended up going back and leaving a second time still not making a decision. lt wasn't until I was scrolling through insta a couple weeks later when a ring I hadn't seen yet was posted and I knew that was it. My fiancé and I went in one last time and all I had to do was put it on and we both knew it was the ring! I tried on the others I previously loved and the decision was easy, this new ring was the one. It's been five years with my ring and I am still so in love! I receive tons of compliments and I am also yet to see anything similar on another someone else. We just went in to get my band and received the same great experience picking it as all the other times we visited the shop. I highly recommend Single Stone not only for the wonderful people who work there, but also for their wide range of unique and gorgeous vintage pieces. Thank you Single Stone team !!! read more

My now-fiancee and I were making our first stop on a planned tour of the jewelry district in April to look for her ring. In the months afterward they were patient and helpful to me as I paid off the ring, which was above our planned budget. read more

Single Stone is amazing. Not only are their rings beautiful, unique and full of character, the entire team is a pleasure to work with. Preparing to propose to the love of your life is a stressful experience to say the least, and the Single Stone crew did everything they could to make me feel comfortable and at ease. They walked me through the many options, taught me about different styles of rings and what to consider, they answered my many, many, many questions. Looking for something you've never purchased before always requires placing a lot of trust in the seller, and I am so glad I trusted the Single Stone team. The ring came out great, my girlfriend (now wife) was ecstatic and absolutely loves the ring. She constantly gets compliments on it (even from strangers). We also got our wedding bands from Single Stone and love those too. We will be back for gifts in the future. read more

I am on my final upgrade with my engagement ring (4 carat antique cushion), and I was looking for a setting that would do it justice. I've frequented this shop before, but always ended up getting a setting elsewhere, but for my "One" ring, I felt like I needed a masterpiece-- the end all, be all ring. Ari and Heather are very gracious and informative. As a jewelry fanatic, (Ari understands ;) ) I expect nothing but perfection. It will be 7 more weeks before I get this new beauty in my hands, but I cannot wait! They are worth every single penny paid, for a hand-forged (not cast/cad) piece that will do my antique diamond justice. read more

Insofar as shopping for an engagement ring can be a "good" experience, I had a great experience purchasing such a ring from Single Stone. I dealt mostly with Heather, who was friendly, gentle, informative, very patient, did not try to up-sell me, and honored a price quoting mistake to the detriment of her (or is a brilliant saleswoman). I chose the ring over the course of several relatively OCD visits; it took roughly 2-ish months to make, and I thought it was reasonably priced, though it's unclear to me what that means. The ring is also beautiful, perhaps, though I can't really say I know that in quite the way I know that LA tacos are better than Boston tacos. Most importantly for me, Heather dealt with my nervous tics and overwrought, diamonds-are-a-racket-right? attitude with aplomb, and still managed to sell me. She even answered a panicked, middle-of-the-night email about my order, in which I drew an image of a detail of the ring that I thought might be a total DISASTER, in response to which she told me I was being an idiot (except in more and nicer words). Furthermore, in my (correct) opinion, every adjudicator of taste, whether in gustatory or aesthetic matters, must have the right mix of a "well, it depends on what your/her preferences are" attitude and a "let me tell you what is objectively good" attitude. Heather quickly approached the right mix, especially with some prodding on my part (e.g., "Just tell me which one is better, dammit!"). She also employed the right mix of straight talk and white lies ("oh no no you're totally not taking too long"; etc.) to comfort me in the process as well. Finally, they happily took my money via credit card, without whining about fees. read more

So heavenly! We're from San Diego and so I've been researching on-line since early January for jewelry stores in San Diego that specialize in vintage engagement rings, or at least carries a good amount...no luck! I must say that I only searched online though, we didn't actually go in person to any shops in San Diego. After searching endlessly on the Internet through google and visiting the shops' websites, I thought I would give Yelp a try! I'm so glad I did because as soon as I typed in vintage engagement rings on the search tab, Single Stone popped up. After reading the reviews and seeing the selection on their website, I was confident this place was it. I gave them a call, spoke to Heather and placed a couple of styles on hold. Getting an appointment on a Saturday was easy. When we finally made the trip to downtown from San Diego, I had butterflies in my stomach, this was the moment I had been waiting for forever!!!! Ari and Heather were amazing. They began by showing us the styles I had selected from their website and also other styles. Ari gave us a mini tutorial about the history of vintage engagement rings, specifically art-deco from the 1920's era! He explained diamonds and how they are graded, especially the vintage cut diamonds. Even though I had already studied the 4 C's...I was impressed! Our budget was set but of course, when we saw what was within our range, my boyfriend wasn't satisfied and bumped it up without hesitation! He wanted BLING, which I truly truly appreciate, he's so kind, giving, unselfish, and only wants the best! Slowly we started narrowing down our selection. FINALLY! My boyfriend and I fell in love with a 1920's art deco platinum ring. The only alteration we made to the ring was to change out the center stone because of it's visible inclusion and sizing...the ring was a 5.5 and my ring size is a 6. Ari was a bit hesitant, and I don't blame him...as he didn't want to jeopardize the integrity of the ring, after all..this ring is over 80 yrs old! In the end, he budged and we selected a loose stone (same size, better quality). The adjustments took about two weeks but they were quick to call as soon as it was ready! We went back to SS two days later to pick-up! Heather was great and snapped a couple of pictures and emailed them to me right away! Overall, great experience, I absolutely love love love my engagement ring. It's so beautiful!!! I highly recommend SS and wish you the best in your search for a gorgeous vintage ring! read more

I can't speak highly enough of Single Stone. Every single person in the store is very personable and knowledgable. I first went there a year ago, when I was in the market for an engagement ring. After emailing them with a description of what I wanted and my budget, they set aside all the items that met my criteria. When I went in, I wasn't sure what to expect, but everyone there was friendly and they didn't try to upsell me. They showed me about ten rings, and I selected the perfect one. Unsure of my girlfriend's ring size, they told me to just bring her in after I proposed (presuming she accepted), and they would resize and clean the ring for free. They also polished it before I even left the store. A few months ago, when it was time to shop for wedding bands (she said "yes"), we went right back to Single Stone. Not only did they remember us, they remembered where we left off in conversation the previous year. We got a great deal on the bands, and they did a beautiful job engraving them, too. I highly recommending making Single Stone your first stop when shopping for vintage rings or wedding bands. You won't need to go anywhere else. read more

I have never been so satisfied and impressed... I needed a significant repair and Single Stone transformed my engagement ring into one that is strong, secure and more stunning than it was when I dropped it off. The quality of their work cannot be beat and is only equalled by their superior customer service and their warm, friendly staff. I could not be happier. read more
