    French Toast

Good for coffee, ok for food. Decent selection of single origin coffees with a variety of brewing options - our over, French press, siphon, chemex... Additionally, they have espresso drinks and teas. This is great for any coffee connoisseur. We went for brunch, and while the menu is lengthy, I didn't find that much variety. Your choices are sweet waffles/french toast, savory waffles/pancakes, a breakfast sandwich or a couple of eggs Benedict choices. None of them particularly tickled my fancy, but I did enjoy the Waffles and Corned Beef that I ordered. My recommendation or if I were to go back, would be for coffee.

Single origin succeeds in providing a hip, relaxing environment for coffee, food, drinks, or any combination of the above. It doesn't come across as original in the way it achieves this, but that isn't a bad thing as long as it is what you're looking for. Between the coffee bean bags strewn around, use of wood and industrial metal for chairs, and liberal playing of Daft Punk, you can easily find yourself slipping into a state of enjoyment. You may also feel like you're in a magazine ad for a coffee company, though. The Black Onyx brew was so well balanced and delicious. It went really well with the corned beef and eggs that I ordered, probably one of my favorite corned beef dishes I've ever had. The sweetness it had was perfect and the cuts had a wonderful amount of fat to balance out the powerful flavor of the beef. The eggs and toast were also on point. Service was great as well, they took a little while for a side order but went out of their way to make it right, which is always appreciated.

Ambiance is perfect, and since this place opens early, it's a great place to have breakfast or brunch. The banana macadamia pancakes were great. Pancakes were thick and fluffy, and they were huge! Because of the big serving, it was very difficult to finish it by myself. The Parisian plate contained ham, French toast, scrambled egg, cherry tomato and ementhal cheese. The dish was not impressive, except for the scrambled egg which was excellently made.

Office for tonight. Music here is nice!

I love the place overall. Coffee is quite good, food portions are huge, and the place is cozy enough to work alone or hang out with friends on hump day. Prices are reasonable, but you can always split a course with a friend or a date I haven't tried checking this place out in the morning (they open at 7am whaaat) but if I'm in the area, I'll explore the different french toat offerings.

Aesthetically, Single Origin is nice. It has a homey feel which goes with the brunch theme. Food wise, we were not impressed. Maybe it's what we ordered (truffle fries, chicken wings and the basket of bacon) but we didn't really enjoy any dish. The fries were hard and lacked the truffle taste, the wings were sweet and the bacon lacked flavor. I would come back to see if the other dishes are better because they sounded good but for anybody eating here, I suggest not ordering the three I mentioned above.

This is a great little cafe to chill out at and have a coffee or tea. The atmosphere is really nice and there is plenty of room inside as well as out. The staff is very friendly and they have an impressive and extensive drink list! We got a crème brûlée latte and a matcha latte and they both were delicious. Free wifi is also a plus - not that it is very speedy wifi though.

Extra star for the service. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. One restroom in the back. Plenty of al fresco seating at the front balcony overlooking BHS amphitheater. They welcome co-working with their big tables inside. It can get a bit sleepy inside as they use yellow light, so it might be best to head here to work before dusk so it's a better natural light. The net speed can get quite slow in a somewhat packed afternoon. About 500kbps down when I tested it. Enough with the boring stuff. The food here is good. I've had the best experience with their: * White Fish Omelette (can't go wrong with it!) * Pulled Pork Sandwich (different from other BBQ based ones) * Honey Bacon (though it can get sweet without a balance of extra bread maybe?) Meanwhile, I'd still get Pancake House's Waffles over theirs. Probably their chicken too. SO's was meh for me. I wish the waffles had a bit more... identity. Was hoping for a bit crispness via burnt sugar maybe. Something out of the ordinary waffle press. But hey, to each his own. Anyways, their soundtrack/playlist here is good and chill. This is the spot to relax at

On soft opening but didn't feel like it. The space is fantastic - inviting, cozy and tasteful. Had the Black Onyx, via Chemex. It was strong and delicious, with interesting notes of cocoa and butter. The waffles are good just bit oily for some reason. Very promising place overall.

The prices went waaaaay up. In comparison it's about the same price as wildflour, but it's not nearly as good.

Walked in last weekend during a crazy downpour, dripping wet, and the barista just smiled, handed me a towel to dry off, and asked what I felt like without any rush. Ended up with their single-origin pour-over--Ethiopian this time--and it was bright, juicy, and perfectly balanced, like every sip reminded me why I fell in love with coffee in the first place. Sat by the window watching the rain hammer Pasong Tamo, worked on my laptop for hours with zero pressure to leave. The space is still that perfect mix of raw concrete and warm light, never too crowded, always calm. Staff remembered my usual order even though it's been months since I last dropped by. Five stars, easily--still one of the most consistently great coffee experiences in Manila.

It's good but I would appreciate it more if they served it in a larger cup and charge P150 and not a small cup and charge P140. I had the fig grilled cheese and it was kind of plain, it's not bad, but just nothing exciting for me. I was kinda disappointed since I was so looking forward to trying this coffee shop.

My friends ordered Iced Mocha, Iced Black, Cold Brew, Strawberry Frappe and Ube cake. As for me and my posh friend, I ordered Sumatra while he ordered Civet coffee. Love the beans that they are using even for their regular coffee drinks. But let me describe my order. I love Sumatra because it is not that bold and not that bitter. It's a little sweet, a bit acidic and fruity in flavor. So if you are in San Juan area and looking for a different cafe or different drink of coffee, checkout Backyard Coffee and try their single origin coffee beans.

I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. Located above the Rustan's Supermarket on P. Guevarra, the café is quiet compared to the busy street below and gets tons of natural light from the building's all-glass facade. Great plus for me as it made the place have a very airy feel which went great with the painted concrete floors and industrial seating. The coffee was great too! I got their cold-brew coffee and it was a solid cup of cold-brew. Nothing out of the ordinary but it wasn't offensive. The price was great though! At least 30 pesos less than a comparable brew from one of the third wave stalwarts. They also have a lot of differently sourced beans to choose from, with even a Filipino Benguet option! So even though it might not have same pretentious or hipster vibes that we have come to expect from many of the other third wave purveyors here in Manila, I love how laidback this place is. You can definitely get a lot done here. Cash only!! There are ATMs downstairs though if you're in a pickle.

It's this little cafe found at the lobby of the hotel that comes with the stay: they had great food and impeccable service! The workers were very friendly and entertained my brothers and I in our endeavor to speak more Tagalog to them (our Tagalog is very choppy haha). They were very understanding and attentive throughout our whole breakfast stay! One tip I could give is to arrive there sooner rather than later for breakfast if you want their Beef Tapsilog. We got there around 9ish (they open at 7) and I wanted to order it but they were unfortunately already out by that time we got there. I ended up ordering their Japanese Gyudon and it was pretty good! The meat was slightly under-seasoned but as a whole with the ginger and rice it was a pretty good dish! They were also kind enough to put the egg on the side for me given my allergy too which is great! Overall a great breakfast experience with great service and good food!!

The first day I had the pork longanisa with garlic fried rice and a sunny side up egg. The breakfast buffet area had assorted breads and jams, two hot plate items (usually vegetarian) dessert, cereal, salad and fresh fruit. The second day I had their chicken adobe with garlic rice and a sunny side egg. Both meals were delicious and the sides were great as wells. The pricing I think is on par with breakfasts you would normally experience in the US and Canada. Approx $20 CAD a person or $800pp. They dont have prices on their menu so this is an estimate :) The service was exceptional. I felt very welcomed by the staff and they were always super helpful. I would recommend staying in this hotel and try their food!
