From the Dr's. to the Nurses, Janitorial staff, the gentleman helping my daughter to the car upon discharge, were amazing human beings. The location is off several bus lines and they have parking available, they will validate your parking if you go to an office. The care I received was excellent and I can appreciate that the Endocrinologist wants me to see a PCP vs him as I am not in need of the specialized care. But what hurts the most is that I had to fight to keep my baby's remains from being treated like medical waste. The doctor did not even seem to know that I could ask for the pregnancy tissue from my D&C as proof of my pregnancy and loss. I should never have had to fight for this. I was grieving my baby, and I had to fight the hospital to make sure her remains were not simply thrown away. Then I was offered a keychain... I don't want a keychain to remember this experience by. I wanted my baby. I won't put all my private medical details here, but other parents need to know: ask questions, ask what is happening to the remains, request your records, and ask for your proof of conception for a proper burial based on your faith. You also have a right for the hospital to take care of the remains, if that's what helps you get through. No judgement, just options. The pathologist named Stephanie was the one person who showed me extraordinary compassion. They treated Estelle with dignity and treated me like a grieving mother, not a case number. Just a beautiful soul who looks you in the eye. I will never forget that. Mercy needs to do better. Losing my baby was devastating enough. I should never have had to fight the hospital to make sure she mattered. Horton taught us "A person is a person, no matter how small." Estelle mattered. Her remains mattered. And I am grateful to the pathologist who treated her with the dignity she deserved.

The only thing that would have been better was if they had coffee and donuts for us after we got our shot (but then again, it would mean a bunch of people with no masks on, so that's probably not a good idea . . . The debacle started when I attempted to add the credit union located within to the Yelp pages and it went downhill very fast. The VA as we all know is a hospital system that serves our Veterans. In Pittsburgh there are several location that you can go including the now closed Highland Drive division the HJHeinz campus located in Aspinwall, but they all tie back into this location that is in the Oakland area of the city. The address is very generic. The best way to tell you exactly where it is and by telling you that it is located across the street from the Falk School. If you still have no idea it is located on the hilltop overlooking Pitt University. If you can make your way to the Petersen Events Center, you are so close to here, go past the dorms and Greek housing and you will find the hospital. The VA offers an array of clinics, surgeries, and testing under one roof. This campus not only has the medical units but also houses a research building, pharmacy, Fisher House, and a consolidation building that holds all the behavioral health needs. Also housed within is a Patriot Store for your shopping needs, this isn't your usual hospital gift shop. Patriot Cafe for your dining needs. VA Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union for your banking needs. Two ATMs, one located at the main entrance from the parking garage and one located in the Patriot Cafe. Drop boxes for postal pick up. Starbucks coffee with a small cafe setting. Did I mention that parking is free here? When the parking is nearing capacity that is when the valet service really ramps up their service here. Also there is a bus stop located out front and shuttle service between facilities.

He was immediately taken care of by so many wonderful. Kind people. Many tests were quickly done.
