About Face has the privilege over many of the salons due to the length of time they have been around for. I can remember them being here for the last 10 years at least, and nearly everyone (female!) I know has had at least one treatment with them. They offer a wide range of treatments such as facials, makeup lessons, manicure, pedicure, overlays, extensions, weight loss treatments, kids parties, bridal makeup and makeup lessons, gift vouchers, spray tanning, the list goes on! A nice touch also, is that they remember all of their clients at Christmas time by sending out a card. I like About Face a lot, and it would still be the salon I would consider first, out of the many salons now open in town.

The treatment rooms are all lovely, clean, warm and extremely relaxing, I feel like I want to nap every visit. The massage beds are heated with lovely warm towels and blankets to keep you comfy. Perfect. The staff here are the most genuinely nice and friendly girls you could find whilst being totally professional. I love going here, would happily recommend it to anyone.

They have a spray tan system called Versa Spa which only costs £20 for a full body tan, and even better, its automated, so you don't actually have to have a therapist doing it (perfect if you are feeling less than 100% confident!) - This also has settings for just face or just legs tanning too - but I got the full body tan and it worked out great. Party packages are on offer for children, teenagers, and hen parties. They also do fab Dermalogica facial treatments, anti wrinkle injections, and semi permanent eyelashes along with the usual waxing, makeup, nails, etc.

Not to mention as much as I hate to say this she had extremely bad breath and I didn't want to embarrass her by saying something in the salon, my appointment wasn't early either so i couldn't have even blamed it on morning breath, I couldn't wait to get out of that chair Hygiene is key in any work place! All the technicians are fabulous and very friendly. Parking is great, there are a few limited spots outside on the courtyard or directly across the road in the main pre pay car park. Parking is very cheap so you don't have to worry about that. Booking well in advance is advised as it is a very busy salon, and appointments are booked up very quickly!! Carrickfergus now has two branches of this little shop, World of Colour (I believe there is another…read moreone in Ballyclare too) - they have a great selection of makeup, nail polish, toiletries and perfumes. They also have useful hints and tips on the shelves, stating whether this product is a good replacement for well known, more expensive brands. I got the W7 concealer which is better than Touche Eclat, and less than half the price! They also sell my favorite brand of foundation for £2 cheaper than anywhere else. To top it off the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and they also offer a loyalty scheme.

They sell a range of brand name products for a great discount price. They also sell lots of brand perfume as well as imitation ones which smell exactly like the real deal. Brands include; Benefit, Clarins, Nivea etc. Your basic make up ranges all at discount price, great! I could spend all day in here smelling all the pretty scents and testing out all the samples of make up but I would probably end up looking like some nut job from a loony bin, so I'll resist and call in every now and again.

They had me ready well within the time I had available, they were quick, friendly, they made great tea (this is more important than you may think!) they were very reasonably priced and had me looking and feeling a million dollars by the time I left. Will definitely be back!

Had a good shellac manicure (takeoff and new shellac on) there recently although not a lot was done in terms of cuticle prep, no hand massage, etc. Prices not cheap either, but shellac lasts 2 weeks without chipping so hopefully it will be worth it. Pleasant staff. They apparently also do pedicures, eyebrow and eyelash tinting, and facial waxing.
