After an absolute nightmare trying (unsuccessfully) for somewhere to fit me in for a cut and colour, Andrea's was suggested to me by one of my friends. They were able to fit me in, that was 7 years ago and I have never gone anywhere else since. Turns out they do a better job than any hairdresser I had ever been to before. They always seem to do my hair exactly the way I like it, and the colours are always exactly what I'm looking for. The prices are very reasonable and most importantly, the staff are really friendly and actually take the time to listen to exactly what their customers want.

About Face has the privilege over many of the salons due to the length of time they have been around for. I can remember them being here for the last 10 years at least, and nearly everyone (female!) I know has had at least one treatment with them. They offer a wide range of treatments such as facials, makeup lessons, manicure, pedicure, overlays, extensions, weight loss treatments, kids parties, bridal makeup and makeup lessons, gift vouchers, spray tanning, the list goes on! A nice touch also, is that they remember all of their clients at Christmas time by sending out a card. I like About Face a lot, and it would still be the salon I would consider first, out of the many salons now open in town.

They have an excellent range of treatments available, my favourites would be the spa pedicure or the back neck and shoulder massage. The treatment rooms are all lovely, clean, warm and extremely relaxing, I feel like I want to nap every visit. The massage beds are heated with lovely warm towels and blankets to keep you comfy. Perfect. The staff here are the most genuinely nice and friendly girls you could find whilst being totally professional. I love going here, would happily recommend it to anyone.

She promised to train me i was 16, shortly after 3 weeks later she took on an aul doll in her 40's called noleen and started actively dedicatedly training her and promptly pushed me aside after having lied, patronized and dissed me then fired me without any humanity she fired in march 1990, i was devastated and badly affected as i could'nt trust after that betrayal being so young. That firing affected me badly as i was suffering abuse at home and i needed that training and job you did'nt give what you promised, you kept me dangling, you berated me with gusto and abject cruelty for disgusting cheap laffs as i was a young trans person at that time who was Out and terrified just trying to hang on in get by And survive!!. All you ever went on about was how allegedly fab frazer homes where, and how stunningly marvellous your big farmer compton was and how the 5 point haircut changed your bourgous life, and that protelene and farandol were your best products along with your thermo styling perms!! They were average at best as was the salon and those awful dated green baggy jumpers we had to wear. I lost out after that you old bag. F' u' very much! You were the Worst Prospect of All.

I rang to arrange an appointment and was able to get booked in for the date and time I wanted. I decided to go for something slightly different, and they were really helpful and informative in helping me choose what suited me, I absolutely loved the results! The salon also is really friendly and chatty with a great atmosphere and the staff are fantastic too, totally impressed with this recommendation!!

Unfortunately the hairstyle I had when I walked out was very far removed from the premise. One big regret I had, that I am constantly kicking myself for, is that I actually paid for it. I wish I had just walked out and not looked back, but I hate confrontation and didn't like to say. I had a very similar experience to the other lady who reviewed, I happened to go here on a one off, after a recommendation from someone else. To cut a long story short, I wanted a side fringe, with some blonde highlights through my hair and a trim. What I got was a full fringe with orange highlights and ended up getting about four inches taken off my hair when all I asked for was a trim. Also, the lady barely spoke a word to me throughout my sitting, which made things very uncomfortable. I'm really self conscious about my hair and was very upset about this, at the time. I appreciate that I might have just had a one off, but I'm sorry, I won't be recommending.

He also charged £30 but uses tesco shampoo and conditioner and let his teenage assistant blowdry it by just blasting it all over and not even using a brush!! Even my friends and family are in shock at how much he has ruined my hair. I will make sure i let as many people as possible know about my awful experience. I now have to fork out £60 on clip in extensions in the hope of making it look slightly better.
