The single, vintage, gas pump beside the Outpost was not promising, but credit card was accepted and the pump worked. When I went inside, I was surprised to see a small restaurant on one end of the store, with a grocery in the middle, and a library on the other end. It was clean and there were several locals, including a group of working cowboys, eating lunch. The cook and waitress were both friendly, and I ordered one of their specialties: double cheeseburger with Hatch chilis and a side order of deep fried okra. I didn't say it was necessarily healthy, but it was very good. I recommend this establishment for the friendliness and chance to sample the flavor of ranch country in Colorado.
