For some reason we always end up stopping here on our way home to CO from AZ. It is the only gas…read morestation around for miles and the first time we happened upon it, we were lucky because we were almost out of gas! Everytime we have been here it smells like sewage outside. Not sure if it is just the area or the place itself, but either way, it is not pleasant! Also, the restrooms are outside and they are pretty nasty. The staff seems to pick up things left on the floor, but they don't appear to have had a deep cleaning in, well, ever. The convenience store is really tiny and the selection is not that great. Only the bare essentials here. We never seem to stop here on purpose, so I am sure I will be back at some point if fate would have it!

Right away, someone left in their truck to go grab cables from home and the other gentleman standing in there drove us back to our car and jumped it for us. Everyone we encountered was so nice. The lady working at the gas station and the two gentlemen in the building. I didn't catch any names. But thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping two strangers out. Quite a variety of snacks, candy, and even Krispy Kreme donuts! The soft drink selection isn't large but they have the basics, including tea drinks. They even have flavored syrups to add. The cups don't get very large, stopping at 44 ounce. The coffee tastes great and is always fresh with plenty of add-ons including several types of creamer and artificial sweetener. The staff is always super-friendly, and SMART! They recognize you and will talk to you like a person, not just a customer. There's also a Redbox vending machine out front for your Blu-ray/DVD fix. If you compare this store to some of the grander convenience stores in big cities, you MIGHT be a little disappointed (but just a little). However, for a small town like Raton, you just can't get any better.
